“I have a friend who is a passionate gardener as myself, so when her special 'milestone' birthday came along, I wanted to send her something she could eventually plant in her yard rather than a floral bouquet. I chose a pink azalea. Though I live in the western suburbs, I wanted to find a florist in her Jefferson Park neighborhood. I chose Wall's Flower Shop on Higgins but the website was redirected to Donna's Garden Flower Shop near Pulaski & Peterson. I spoke to Avi on the phone and he was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. This floral shop was extremely conscientious about delivering this fragile plant in the midst of our cold January weather. They called my friend and made sure she was home to receive it. She was extremely excited and thrilled to receive her gorgeous plant full of pretty pink buds. I will definitely recommend Wall's Flower Shop/Donna's Garden Flower Shop to all my Chicago friends!”
“Best garden center in the city and suburbs. Nothing comes close. Was just there and the 2023 "overpriced" Xmas tree issue was a mistake... the trees had been mis-marked and the issue has been fixed. Bad mistake on Gethsemane's part? Yes, but the issue was rectified. I asked a salesperson about it because the trees all seemed to be fairly priced and similar to last year's prices... nothing like what I had read here on Yelp. The staff here actually know and care about plants, unlike other garden centers. If you want cheap, sunburnt petunias and marigolds? Go to Home Depot... no one's stopping you. But if you want better quality plants and a far better selection, go to Gethsemane and pay a little more. It's worth the extra money. The employees are awesome and give great advice and service. Possibly my favorite store in Chicago, period.”
“Going to make this review short and sweet.Thank you so much Abby for making me a sweet and simple flower crown for my October cemetery shoot!I came here with my dog in late October because I wanted a tiny and simple flower crown for my hair. I stated I wanted the flowers to be dark or black and Abby ordered the perfect floral arrangement with my specific corpse bride request. I'm now patiently waiting for the flowers to dry up so I can have it for a future project. The staff here gave me an extremely reasonable price on short notice and I also purchased a cute vase with three dead flowers that I included in my Day of the Dead themed cemetery shoot.I highly recommend this cute flower boutique and will use their services again without hesitation. I'm including two photo images of me at Graceland cemetery wearing the floral crown that was handcrafted by Abby herself”
“The owner is amazing - she’s the plant whisperer!!! I came in with my sick orchid. The orchid came from my mom, who recently passed away, so I really want this little plant to survive, but I know nothing about orchids. The owner took it out of its pot, treated it with love, checked its health by looking at the roots, told me all about it, and fixed it up a little special dirt + bark mix made of 3 different things. My plant looks so happy now! Thanks, Sunnyside Plants - you’re the best!!!”

“I went shopping for money trees the other day in the Edgewater area of Chicago and all of the Asian stores said they will not be selling them until May. So I waited the next day and start searching for plant stores in Niles and found these two money trees to replace the big ones so they can be repotted. The lady helping me find them in the store was very nice and she had very nice plants there. This will be my regular plant store for now. Very convenient and the prices are very good as well. “Staff is very friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgeable as well. The only issue I have is the wood cutting. Had to return a few pieces of plywood and get them recut. Also, the cuts were not great as it looks like the blade they used is not in the best shape. I would definitely come here again but I don't think I'll be paying for wood cutting here in the future.”

“Mags, General Manager made a house call today on our two, sick citrus trees. I have had "Gertrude" and "Fred" since they were seeds (end of 2016) and just recently Gert (and Fred to a lesser extent) started to shed leaves every night.It was scary to walkout and see the curled up, brown tinged leaves laying there and the bare(ish) branches.Mags came in and examined them and the soil and asked and answered a lot of questions. They were professional, empathetic and knowledgeable. Mags had offered a zoom visit, but we feel that it was well worth the money to have them come out.Mags aerated the soil to loosen the snug dirt and trimmed a branch which was miserably plowed into the ceiling.We feel this is the beginning on the road to better health and plan on having them come back in spring to replant our Snake plant (which has gotten a bit unwieldy). Very happy with our visit!”

“Surprised to read negative reviews. This place is great! I have loads of plants from there (and other stores bc I have LOADS of plants in my house). None have ever been sick or infested. The store is adorable. They are far and above the most helpful staff. They will even repot a plant that isn’t even from their store (small fee) and offer advice. I brought in a sad peperomia which is now thriving thanks to Cultivate staff. They have a great selection of plants and pots. I like keeping mine in the containers, so I don’t mind no holes (and saucers take up space when your windows are already crowded). They’ll even drill a hole if you want it (small fee). It’s a business in Evanston- I think the prices are fair. If you want cheap plants and no service, try a HD.PS- they also have local artisan jewelry and a nice rewards program. I drive 35 mins to go specifically to this store.”
