“Went to get a tool replaced and customer service was great. They were very nice and because they didn't have the exact same size they gave me the next size up.”
“For truck drivers... entrance is the west gate. Pull up to the gate and call the number posted. Pretty easy backing. Unload time is about an hour. Getting to the delivery can have some tight turns but overall not bad.”
“Thanks Tad for always giving the best advice and guidance as I prepare for projects with my clients. Appreciate the extra product knowledge with a good attitude. Makes the day. Always shop here.”
“They have the part that I wanted. They also have a tech support number and a gentleman named Lenny was patient in polite. I asked a couple of stupid questions, and I got very patient answers.”
“I bought a Toro mower from them this summer, 2025. Friendly and personable people to deal with. Pricing on the mower was great. I'd do business with them again.”
“It’s a real hardware store! Everything you need they have in stock. I can always find what I’m looking for and then I start looking around and they have an amazing selection of household goods, kitchen appliances you can’t find anywhere else. It’s a fun and wonderful store.”
“This is one of my favorite places to visit- prices are fair, their inventory is surprisingly extensive considering the size of the shop, and the staff is friendly & super helpful! They're truly good neighbors and time seems to slow down while you chit chat about projects you all are doing. Great neighborhood place that I hope stays forever and ever and ever!”
“We Love this store! Small hardware IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, with most things you may want around the house or apartment. Friendly and helpful staff. Plant stuff, electrical, plumbing, even bought a hat and gloves last fall!We try then first before resorting to the big box alternatives.Abd when you are done, you can stop at Lickity Split for an ice cream!!”
“Juan at ACE on Maple is a fabulous client service professional at our local hardware store. He and the team outperform the big box stores in product knowledge, service and personality
Today he helped me order the paint to match our existing doors and new paint for our walls. His produced knowledge is unparalleled and his smile is enticing
To finish the job, he wheeled the paint to our car
We keep coming back
Tom”
“The best, most knowledgeable staff work at this local hardware store that punches way above its size. They remember me whenever I come in and are always willing to suggest the most affordable way to get a project done. Their selection is excellent, particularly the Benjamin Moore paint and other seasonal supplies. I cannot recommend them more highly!”
“Very happy with recent service from AG. He replaced a plexiglass storm window panel with bent aluminum frame, and the hardware on a sliding storm window panel from a porch door. Relatively small jobs, but he took care to complete the repairs right and at a low price. Communication throughout the process was also great. Highly recommended.”
“Been going to John & Michael for years. They helped me when I was struggling. Made me feel as if I’m part of O’Leary’s. A goto for anything in construction. I started with a bike & a paint brush 30yrs ago. Mike & John been with me all along the way. Now fixing and building bridges. Kind, professional and inexpensive for any construction needs.”
“They carry things that big box stores do not.Lumber is generally higher quality than big boxers as well. They have PenOfin wood stain. Barn door kits.Staff are knowledgeable.”
“Fully stocked with a huge selection. It's nice that you are greeted basically at the door by somebody that's ready to help you. You don't get that at home Depot! It also seems like the people that work there know what they are doing. The Gentleman that helped me was super nice and the girls at the register also very cheerful (it's a cold rainy Tuesday and you wouldn't have know it in there LOL)
Plenty of parking in their parking lot. Considering it's an independent Ace hardware the prices are not insane. They actually had quite a few special offers on the tools I was looking for and purchased.
Great discovery for me and if I buy here I am supporting a local business.”
“Everyone who works here is so helpful and very kind. It is family owned and the owner is always happy to order things I need, but most often has them in stock, helps find things and with bringing out to car when it is alot or heavy. He has patiently assisted with more complicated home repair, plumbing situations we have had come up as well as picking paint colors for dollhouse walls and was equally attentive to our little customers questions.”
“Love this place. For the most part everyone is helpful and most are friendly lol. I hear a lot of people nicknamed the store; CRAPPY BEAVER! But I don't think it's CRAPPY at ALL!”
“We hired Kitchen & Bath Mart to do a full remodel of both our kitchen and bathroom and we could not be happier with the results! Krysti was our designer and she made everything so easy and was a pleasure to work with. We have an almost 100 year old home and her designs made great use of our small, quirky spaces. Bogdan did the install and his work was immaculate! He had both the kitchen and bathroom projects going at the same time and Krysti would come by to check on progress at each step, so everything went smoothly. It felt like no time at all that the work was completed and our old home had some new life.
Do yourself a favor and hire KBMart!”
“I go here often. It has a small hardware store feel because the employees are knowledgeable and helpful, but is pretty large for a small hardware store once you realize there are two upstairs sections.”
“The absolute best customer service and the friendliest staff. Very down to earth, extremely knowledgeable, and genuinely seems to love what they do. The best location I’ve been to so far. Keep up the amazing job!”
“Awesome, friendly, helpful service! The prices of merchandise is reasonable and it's easy to find what you're looking for here. The store is clean and organized.”
“Finally a real hardware store.
Needed a tap to fix threads on a bathroom fixture are he was able to give me the proper size, along with a single 2.5mm hex wrench.
Nowhere else could help me.”
“I went there a while ago to get some parts for my shower faucet and valve. These guys know their stuff, and are happy to give you some really solid advice when you need it most. I definitely recommend using Elmwood Supply!”
“Andersonville Hardware is convenient and close. I’ve gone in to find a small part from time to time and they have always been very nice and helpful.A couple years ago, they re-screened a window screen for me. My only complaint is that the screen was not done very tight so it flaps a bit in the breeze, but otherwise has held up fine.”
“I ran into Ace looking for a drain snake and Draino because my tub has been clogged for a few weeks. I was instantly greeted and helped by this guy with long red hair. He asked me what I was looking for and when I told him my situation with the tub, he offered me a different and more effective solution.
I have long hair too so hair clogs up the tub easily when it passes the stopper. He highly recommended this stuff called “Insta-Flo”. He taught me how to use it and told me he understood the long hair issues since his household and himself all had long hair.
When I got home and followed his instruction as well as the bottle instructions, it worked like magic! I haven’t had that excellent of customer service in a very long time. It was so refreshing honestly!
Thank you to that employee, water is running smoothly and life moves on. Give that guy a raise because employees like that are extremely rare these days. Top Tier!”
“Seriously these folks are great. I have had my fair share of experiences walking into hardware stores as a woman and getting talked down to and told I don’t know what I’m talking about. That has never once happened here. Someone is always around to help and prices are super reasonable too. Highly recommend.”
“While moving our child into a new apartment in Chicago, we had a need to buy a room air conditioner, and some other odds and ends to fill out apartment life after graduating from college. Everyone I interacted with in the store was extremely helpful. It was like a hardware store from 10 or 20 years ago where everybody knew where everything was and helped you and was kind. They even have a parking lot that I could park my giant truck and they were amazing. Highly recommend.”
“Helpful, knowledgable, and genuine people. A good selection of typical things you'd look for in a neighborhood hardware store. The lumber selection is pretty good, too, and the cuts they do (for a fee) are substantially better than big box stores. If they don't have something, folks I've talked to are more than happy to refer you to another local store that might help. My go-to for all hardware and projects.”
“One night I went into our bedroom and found a chipmunk on our bed. Quickly went to our local Ace and asked for help. The sales associate told me what product I could use (sticky pads) and gave me directions on how to use it, even suggesting using peanut butter as bait. I went home and followed his directions. An hour later Mr. Chipmunk was stuck to the pad and we were able to remove him from our home. Thanks Ace.”
“Harold’s is probably the best hardware store I’ve ever been to. It’s the anti-Lowe’s. The staff is SO friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Maybe a bit more expensive than bigger stores but worth it.”
“Anca Sirbi rose to the challenge when I needed assistance replacing a medicine cabinet with odd measurements. She took the time to look through many, many options and found a cabinet that would meet my needs. She was pleasant, patient, polite and funny throughout my experience. I will return to Anca in the future.”
