“What a delightful place! We came in on a weekday and the pace was relaxed and festive (with beautiful Polish Christmas items for sale), lusciously-scented (reminding me of European restaurants or kitchens), immaculately clean, with kind and gracious staff. We just browsed around, picking a poppy seed loaf (not as sweet as those made by American bakeries, but rich, substantial, perfect for coffee) and a marzipan to take home. And speaking of coffee, next to the beautiful deli is a corner with coffee and cookies for customers. Wandering the aisles was a treat, too. While a lot of the items are in Polish, the labels also have English translation. Such a fantastic array off ingredients and goodies! I'll have to come back to truly grocery shop here. In our culture of cookie-cutter franchises, Carpathia offers us another beautiful option. I'm grateful to have such a grocery story/deli in our area and wish them the very best!”

“I just left the store. The people were very friendly and helped me a lot. Three different people helped me in total. The store and vegetables were very clean, pretty, and organized. There is a great variety here. It's bigger inside than outside. My Spanish is not very good but, yes, I like it a lot. The only thing is I would like to see more light. It's a little dark.”
“Good selection of fresh produce, meats, organic grocery items, and healthy options overall. There is a section with items that are "here today, gone tomorrow" that I feel always has some items worth checking out, whether seasonal or going out of stock.
I usually bring my reusable bag and put my items in there, but if I forget it I can usually find an empty box on the shelf or in one of their carts that I can use to put my items in to save on plastic waste and buying a bag from them. Super convenient and great for the environment.
Good selection of meats and fruit, especially if you want something locally grow. Prices fluctuate but they seem reasonable to me in comparison for the quality of items you're getting.
I will say the self checkouts rolling out at many of the Aldi's are game changers. Otherwise, the lines can get pretty ridiculous and, besides holidays, I don't think I've ever seen more than two lanes open at a time at ANY Aldi from Illinois to Indiana. Other than that, I love going to Aldi for the prices, quality of ingredients, and the "here today, gone tomorrow" section!!!
P.S. there is a section in most Aldi locations with items from gardening to shoes to blankets to coloring books. Great finds in there too!!!”

“My favorite store in Hammond. Most things are reasonably inexpensive. Always very clean. Cashier are very quite. They are not very engaging and honestly most of them seem very bored. The butcher are really nice tho and always speak and willing to help find things”
“Love the selection and price of Gordon's. Like the fact that you can purchase individual creamers for coffee and normal sized bags of snacks. I get a kick out of the fact their house brand is named Brickman.”

“I walked around the store as I had never been in an aldi before.the store is not to big and not to small. They seemed to have. Good selection off stuff. The bouquets and some of the flowers were wilted or dead.”
“The store was remodeled and looked much better. I no longer live in the area and have been gone for years now. I was impressed compared to the way the store used to look. The only thing I had an issue with was the cashier. I feel she needs to work on her customer service skills. Otherwise I would still recommend this place and I will come back if I'm in the area.”

“My husband had a hankering for a libation to pair with his homemade bbq made for Mother's Day. He was able go promptly choose from their selection (a newer offering from Budweiser) and was out in a jiffy. The area is a bit scruffy so stay on point, keep the dillying and dallying to a minimum and you should be all good.”

“Don Mike is always very kind and helpful, he takes pride in everything he does. Always wants his customers to leave happy and with the freshest food! Last time I sent my fiancé to get some guacamole for some tacos and he came home so excited to have it as an appetizer because he said Don Mike made it from scratch right in front of him! A must try! The meat is always fresh here and I love that he even carries Mexican clay kitchenware and other authentic Mexican items that you normally can’t find in regular stores.”
