“We stayed here for 3 nights, coincidentally, on Columbus Day weekend. The hotel is a little dated but in a classic good way.

Staff were welcoming and helpful. My wife and I stayed on the 4th floor and my parents on the 2nd. Walking the halls, you can definitely tell the style is a little dated but looks quite classic and nice. The rooms themselves were clean and spacious. A con is that there was only 1 outlet by the bed and only on one side. The water pressure and heat were very impressive. Water came out very hot if you weren't careful, and the pressure was great. You couldn't tell that the hotel was packed full at all. I dont know if we got lucky or not, but it was also very quiet for us.

Breakfast is not included but I got it included with my corporate rate. I believe you can make a booking including breakfast but it only costs $15 separately. I believe this is a fair price and well worth it. The muffins were freshly baked and the rest of the offerings were quite tasty as well. Dont forget that it's all you can eat for this as well.

The gym equipment was a little dated. There is a water bottle refill station which is nice. We didn't get to try the pool, but it looked like there was a deep end to it. Looked like a good sized pool.

All in all, enjoyed our stay and would stay again.”

“Had a very enjoyable stay. I don't normally leave reviews for hotels but I had to let everyone know that Kim who ran the hotel bar and grill was totally awesome! After a bad restaurant experience at Rosebud's Steak House and saying goodbye to our son shipping out in the Navy I was feeling very low. But after some awesome wings and 2 Kim specials.... I was feeling no pain! Thank you, Kim for being awesome. For listening, and for your words of encouragement. I would cone back just for you! LBVS! To management... Give this woman a raise or one heck of a Christmas bonus. I think you may be underestimating what she does for your guests. It's not just pouring drinks and serving food.

Food and drinks: Kim is awesome!!!!”

“Navy Lodge was great for our stay! I did find some lipstick that hadn’t been washed off a coffee cup while I was drinking it and some hairs in the bathroom and near light switches but all in all it was a very good stay and I’m picky. They were very kind, I enjoyed the elliptical in the work out room, and always hot coffee available in the lobby. It was just a great atmosphere and we will prob start here again. We had the room with a little kitchen and we loved that”

“The rooms were so clean, the staff was so friendly, and helpful. Nina was the best! She always went out of her way to make sure that every guest there was well taken care of. She also made sure we knew what was going on for the weekend, and told us about all the cool places to visit. My family and I totally recommend staying at this Homewood Suites. Nina rocks!!”

“I stayed at this location for a little over a year. Rooms are comfortable and the manager (Sydney [sp]), among others, have been fantastic and very helpful! Lots of good food to check out around as well as forest preserves.”

“Incredibly nice stay! We stayed for 4 nights for a local dog show. Location was very easy, and layout of Suites was very convenient to outside exits. Greatly appreciated the designated dog area complete with bags and garbage holder. Very helpful and considerate. Rooms, hallways exercise room and laundry were extremely clean, spacious and comfortable. Kitchens were equipped with everything needed for our short stay including toaster, microwave, and any other appliance to use if asked. So nice to have a clean laundry on site. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with a faucet and heater, they immediately had someone (Oscar) come up to investigate and he promptly and courteously handled our needs. Because of this experience we will seek out Sonesta stays in the future. Thank you!”

“Review of Great Wolf Lodge

We recently spent a weekend at Great Wolf Lodge with our family of five (kids aged 9, 6, and 2), and overall, it was a fantastic experience!

Pros:
• Water Park Fun: Our kids absolutely loved the large lazy river, the kid-friendly slides on Fort Mackenzie, and the wave pool. Although we didn’t try the bigger slides, they looked exciting, and the lines were surprisingly short.
• Perfect Timing: The water park did get busy in the afternoons, which is to be expected on a Saturday, but it was much quieter and more enjoyable when it first opened in the morning.
• Kid-Friendly Features: The fenced-in kiddie area was a great touch, offering peace of mind for parents. The warm water and comfortable air temperature made the experience even better. Plus, the lazy river and kiddie pool had handicap-accessible features like railings.
• Other Activities: The high ropes course and climbing wall were a fun change of pace from the water park.
• Clean and Renovated: The hotel was clean, modern, and felt more open compared to other Great Wolf Lodge locations we’ve visited.

Cons:
• The kiddie splash pad water was freezing, making it less enjoyable for our little one. And there wasn’t a ‘hot tub’ pool or adult hot tub to warm up in.
• The room lighting was very dim; more overhead lights would have made a big difference.
• The bathroom lacked a fan, leading to a humid environment after showers.
• The arcade was fun but overpriced.

Overall, Great Wolf Lodge provided a wonderful family getaway with plenty of activities to keep our kids entertained. While there were a few downsides, the positives far outweighed them. We’d happily return for another visit!”

“We were visiting from AZ for our daughter's Navy Basic training graduation. They were very helpful and accommodating. I asked if possible to be upgraded to a room with more beds because we booked before we knew our Sailor would have overnight liberty.
We were able to bring our 2 small dogs, they have several nice pet areas. Wonderful breakfeast. Free laundry, grounds are kept clean.
I wish housekeeping would of been done every day as their policy states but other than that it was amazing property with a peaceful stay.”

“As a wedding planner it is such a pleasure to work with a great venue. From the sales manager - Patti, to the Event Manager - Christine, and all the banquet staff - everyone provided excellent customer service. The Grand Marquee Pavilion gives you an elegant tent feel but is within the resort and has a great view of the surrounding greenery. A wonderful for a wedding reception that can accommodate large events. I would highly recommend them to any of my future clients looking for a wedding reception in the Chicago suburbs.”

“We stayed here on our way from my Dad's in Northern Wisconsin. We're flying out of O'Hare, heading home to Texas, and wanted to stop along the way. I booked through Expedia on our drive. We had no issues with check-in. The staff was cordial. The room was clean. The hotel is conveniently located to just about anything you could want to eat, as well as plenty of shopping.”

“Don't stay here unless... you want to be close to shopping, whether it's for something in the mall or a nearby chain store. If your hungry, don't drive far. Breakfast is served daily. Most restaurants are nearby within minutes for lunch and dinner. If you plan to go to a graduation for the naval academy/ out for fun at a theme park which is near by. Staff throughout the hotel was helpful. Came late due to a delayed flight but had someone there to let us check in. Gave us a good idea for places to go whether it be food or entertainment. Had fun at the indoor pool which was open until 10pm. I was able to attend my function at the navy base for graduation. Although families were present, I couldn't tell from my room. It was peaceful. Overall this is the place I'm booking if I ever have to return to Gurnee, Illinois.Rooms: Clean, spacious, comfortable with easy to control ambient.Nearby activities: Indoor pool. Six flags great america is the nearest theme park. Along with great wolf lodge.Walkability: Mall is just across the parking lot. Enough said.Food & drinks: Breakfast served daily. “The rooms are good, very nice and spacious! The bed wasn't that comfortable, but the pillows were super soft. They have a good selection for breakfast, including to-go bags, hot breakfast, yogurt, bagels, etc......all day tea, coffee, and lemon water. It's in a pretty good location. I had a pretty nice view as well! It was quiet, just how I liked it!”

“The location is great. The pool and hot tub area was nice and breakfast was included. Parking is free and in a parking lot. The staff was friendly.Room 230 - We had a 2 queen room with a pull out sofa. The sofa had a tear, M&M's by it/under it and some loose change on the seats. We draped a sheet on it to use for seating. The beds had hairs and stains on them. Pulling back the covers revealed more hairs of all sorts. Different lengths, colors, pets, etc. and crumbs? The shower doesn't drain well so it has standing water and makes a high pitch whistling sound after a few minutes. The bathroom door locks from the inside but you can open it from the outside. The sink drain is broken so it's just halfway jammed in there and drains very slowly. The bathroom wall has dirt splashes on it and there are holes in the shower curtain. There are outlet covers that are very loose and one outlet has something broke off in it. This is by the TV and desk area. It appears to be a ground from something. The closet needs some screws tightened, the hinges are loose so it doesn't close when it's opened. The air conditioner/heating unit makes a loud noise almost like a flag flapping in the wind. For some reason, it happened more around 4 am and 6-7 am for very long periods of time.Everything else was fine. Breakfast changes slightly daily. Lobby is clean. This is not an expensive hotel but people expect things to be in clean, working order. We figure things out as we go but I will always leave an honest review. This was everything about our first impression and the list of things that should be fixed to make a great first impression for Room 230. (Telling you about it at the time gives you the chance to change it to make a second impression. Things should be in clean, working order upon arrival and there were many things looked over in this room) Everything else was good and hopefully the other rooms are much better! :)”

“I had a very positive experience with Sleep Inn, though I didn't actually stay there. I had a reservation for Friday night after our other hotel didn't have availability for that day. After connecting with my sailor and ironing out the logistics of meeting him at the airport around 1:30am, it didn't make sense to keep the hotel reservation. By that time I could only give a short cancellation notice. I called and politely asked if I would incur a penalty if I cancelled. The gentleman I spoke to was very nice, he asked me the reason, and when I explained it he said no problem at all and I was able to cancel. It's this type of no hassle customer service that would make me stay there in the future without hesitation.”

“I dont know why people have given bad reviews. From the moment you walk in the door the staff is Always pleasant and the hotel is clean and accommodating. There is an elevator if you need that to get to the 2nd floor. The rooms and bedding are clean and there is heat and A/C, a coffee maker, a hair dryer, a microwave and a refrigerator. Its Alot nice than competing hotels in Waukegan and surrounding areas and is reasonably priced. We stayed a little over a week.”
