“I had a last minute emergency. My tire got flat on my way to my sister's wedding celebration at Fogo De Chao in Orland Park. Thankfully we made it into the parking lot before it totally busted. My brother was with me and tried putting air in the tire with my air pump and it wasn't inflating. So he said he would switch it out and put my spare in. I decided to call Mavis in Orland Park since I had a warranty on the tires, but little did I know they were permanently closed. So I had the operator transfer me to the one in New Lenox since that was closer. I had called to see if I was able to come in for them to look at the flat and to see if it can be fixed or needs to be replaced. They had said that's not a problem. You can come in right now and that was an hour before closing. Once my brother finished putting the spare in he locked everything up in the car. I drove over there but before I could go any further I decided to call again just to make sure they wouldn't close early on me like some other shops do. It was 5:20 and they close at 6. They said you still can come in. We are not one of those shops that turn people away because it's close to closing time. That gave me a sigh of relief and a peace of mind. Once I got there I was taken care of right away. He went to look at the tire in my trunk and said that the tread was completely worn out due to low air pressure so I would need the tire replaced. So we went over my warranty and he told me how the breakdown was and what would be covered. Once that was done they pulled my car in and also checked the other tires and he said those three were good to go as well. It took less than 30 minutes for them to complete the service. I was able to make it back in time before dinner was completely over. They have great teamwork and great customer service and professionalism. I am a resident of Chicago and will always go to this location to get any type of car services done. I recommend you to try this place out if you are looking for an honest, reliable, and caring tire shop. They don't sell you anything and will make sure you leave worry and stress free.”

“Great spot to get your Emissions Test done for Free. They are usually pretty quick, depending how many folks are ahead of you. But most of my visits I'm out of there in under 15-20mins.
As far as getting work done on your whip... Let's just say they are on the high end of the pricing scale.
When I heard an alternator replacement on a Ford Explorer a lady brought there was going to run $1600 I almost fell out my seat! If y'all need an alternator done.
I'll do it for $200 plus the cost of the parts.
I had work done here in the early 2000s after a tow and I got racked over the coals for a simple serpentine belt replacement and adjustment.
But I will tell you this...
The guys here are very knowledgeable and professional and they do good work. It's the big corporate name that is most of the cost.
But my best piece of advice.Make friends with a mechanic. A couple bucks and a case of beer can get a lot of work done.

“My first 2 times going to Pep Boys were at another location and I felt like I got ripped off. Never planned on going to Pep Boys again but had two urgent situations that made me go to the New Lenox location. Both times I received a discount for issues that were no fault of their own which was really considerate. Lydia and Jacob at the front desks are both very personable and kind. I liked that they took a look at my whole car to let me know of upcoming maintenance that might need to be done, rather than only taking a look at what I brought it in for. One of the mechanics saved me from my tire popping off because they do that inspection, they took me in the shop and showed me that my tire and its hardware was just hanging on by a thread and I had no idea. Overall I definitely recommend them!”
