“Great gym! Pretty clean, staff is friendly too. Basketball courts are great other members are very friendly and welcoming. Area is phenomenal as well. Great spot to have a gym. I’m very sad I had to cancel my membership but I hope to be back soon!”

“Great place, awesome equipment, friendly staff. Hennessy signed me up and was really chill and helpful. Only two complaints is there isn’t enough mat space/mats in general since everyone wants to use them. The other issue is all the time the free weights are not put away and are missing or left about. It’s pointless getting the lazy people who do that to change but maybe staff should do an occasional check because I sometimes only have 5 or 35 pound weights to work with.”

“At Posted, the culture is nothing short of empowering. From the moment my daughter stepped into the gym, she was welcomed into a community that prioritizes growth in all facets of life. Beyond physical fitness, she's been encouraged to develop mentally and emotionally, fostering resilience and determination. The supportive environment and positive reinforcement from coaches and fellow members have empowered her to push boundaries, set goals, and exceed her own expectations. This isn't just about building strength; it's about nurturing character, confidence, and resilience, making it an invaluable resource for any teenager seeking holistic growth.”

“I’ve always been intimidated by weight training because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. MSP has been the perfect place for me to learn the ropes! Nice people all around.I like that they don’t just throw you into the group classes and have you do three, 1:1 Foundations sessions (s/o to Alex!) at the onset.Their structure of 3 classes per week package helps me stay consistent, and the class sizes are usually only 4-8 people. I’m almost two months in and feeling great.”

“Hyper Fight Fitness is an excellent boxing gym for students of all levels. My son who wrestles wanted to try boxing. My only experience was the Chicago Park Dist. boxing programs from my youth. In comparison, Hyper Fight will keep your kid's interest longer with several different coaches, better equipment, facilities, different skill level classes, and a friendly atmosphere. One day he came out of practice telling me he saw 2 pro boxers training there and they were down to earth and friendly. He thought that was really cool and wanted to train even more. Bogdan and Kamila run a top notch gym. Highly recommended 10/10 rating.”

“Really loved this gym and its community. Their classes are exciting and really pushed me. At the same time its very achievable, so I think it’s great for a wide range of people. I would have continued if they had lower monthly rates but I truly believe you’re also getting a fun community and a deeper reason to be consistent. It adds a fun element to your day for sure”

“Such a welcoming gym. The members and coaches immediately give that family feeling, even to drop ins. The gym itself is also extremely well laid out. Even with a full house, you're not in each other's way, and all of the equipment and supplies are easy to find.”

“Just Lift has been such a positive addition to my life the past several months. I needed to kickstart a fitness regiment after years of being out of a routine. It was recommended by my daughter - a talented high school athlete that loved training here with Just Sports. The staff is truly spectacular (spending the most time with Coach Shea, Cassidy, and John just to name a few). My training sessions are yielding tangible results - feeling way better, getting stronger, eating healthier, losing weight and having fun. The workouts are hard but they customize it while creatively evolving. There are plenty of smiles and laughs to go around. Highly recommended.”

“I joined after my one year anniversary of doing Bariatric surgery. I lost 105 lbs in that one year and wanted to start exercising to continue my weight loss journey and at the same time build my muscle to fill in all that saggy skin. I love group workouts and having a coach to instruct and push me, so I thought of giving OTF a try and it’s now 5 months later. In the 5 months that I’ve been a member, my energy has increased, my body shape is changing, and I am getting stronger. I keep getting compliments from my friends and family about how much healthier I look now.The coaches (Rudy, Heidi, Alyssa, and Lacey) are so energetic and upbeat that they make me want to push myself, especially when I feel that I’m done and tapped out. I love the encouragement and direction that I get from them. They are so positive and make me feel that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. The coaches are quick to offer alternatives for me and do a great job of monitoring the floor workouts to give people feedback on form and pacing.I also love the combination of strength and cardio workouts. I find myself getting stronger and my body shape is changing as a result. Besides the coaching and the workouts, I love the atmosphere, the music, and the community that make OTF Woodridge such an incredible place.”

“Dropped in the last 2 days here and loved it! Coach Scott was wonderful, and provided great individualized attention and coaching to myself and every other athlete. The gym members were so warm and welcoming, it had a great community feel! The programming on Thursday was SO much fun and a terrific change from typical CrossFit programming. I’ll absolutely be back any and every time I’m back in the area and would recommend this gym to anyone!”

“As someone in the fitness industry, I was looking for a private gym to work out at since I grew tired of the big, corporate level gyms in the area. I stumbled upon this gem a little over a year ago and it’s great. It has all the equipment I need. Plenty of dumbbells, kettlebells, bands, barbells and even a turf to use for whatever your workout needs are. The gym owner is extremely kind and personable. The members respect each other and the gym itself. It is a great atmosphere and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a private gym with an awesome atmosphere!”

Highly Recommend!”

“I’m from Florida and was visiting friends in the western suburbs of Chicago this weekend, and I didn’t want to miss my Saturday workout. So I chatted online with Chris, and he encouraged me to attend his 9:00 am class. Given the fact that I had no gym shoes with me, he suggested I work out in socks… “YOU HAVE GOALS”, he wrote! So I showed up, and I had a GREAT and challenging workout! He helped this senior citizen perform the exercises safely and correctly, and he suggested modifications along the way. Loved my experience in this welcoming community of fitness enthusiasts! Thanks, Chris!”

“I’ve been to a lot of gyms throughout my fitness journey: Planet Fitness, XSport, Lifetime Fitness, even at home setups. None of these solutions have ever been helpful for me. Sometimes it’s anxiety, other times it’s motivation. The American Heart association recommends at least 30 minutes of vigorous activity every day to make sure your heart stays health. I don’t do that at all. With high cholesterol, diabetes, and more cardiovascular conditions running in the family, I need to figure out a solution that works for me.When my close friend posted on Instagram that he took his 300th class at OrangeTheory, I immediately asked him about it. At a first glance, OrangeTheory seemed very intimidating and daunting. My friend reassured me and told me to try it, but it didn’t make my anxiety any better. At the time of writing this review, OTF had a free class promotion going on.I decided that health is an investment and why not just try the free class? I have a lot to learn.I booked the nearest location near me and gave it a shot. The studio is beautiful, modern, and orange. Literally orange. From the lobby to the dimly lit orange fitness center. Everything here is ORANGE. Which totally fits the theme of the brand. The intake forms are very quick. Basic info, emergency contact, billing information. Once you’re done, you get a tour of the studio as well as a personal introduction from staff, coaches, and an explanation of how OrangeTheory works. This is going to sound weird, but OrangeTheory feels like a workout academy and we are all the students. At the end of the tour and explanation, we are given heart rate monitors and sent off into the studio. The coaches welcome everyone in with positivity and cheering. You then get sectioned off on either “the floor” (rowing/weights) or the “the treads” (treadmill, elliptical, bikes). Your heart rate monitor is connected to all the machines in the room. Walk up to a machine, tap your name, and you see your heart rate as well as what “color” you are. (Gray, Blue, Green, Orange, Red). Gray is heart at rest pace. Red is the heart at the highest performance in can go. Orange is the sweet spot. The more time you spend in orange, the more calories you burn, the more your body is working harder.Coaches never leave you alone fully. They are always talking to you through microphones. If you are on the treadmill, they will make you switch between different phases of pace. (Base, Push, All Out). The technology has “recommendations” of what these mean for incline and speed, and it’s up to you to decide what works for you. The treadmills allow for power walking, jogging, and running. It’s totally up to you for what you want to do. I do power walking.Floor exercises are guided. Coaches will demo each weight training exercise, and then they will put up a TV that shows looped videos side by side of what the exercises are doing followed by instructions like “repeat these until the coach tells you otherwise”. You are allowed to rest/refill water/bathroom anytime. The class switches groups halfway through, everyone is obligated to clean their machines with wipes. And then everything starts over again until the end of class, which ends with a recovery yoga stretch followed by community events. My OrangeTheory experience wasn’t what I expected at all. As someone with social anxiety, coming into this class scared me, but I had an amazing time. The gamification of weight loss, the “school/academy” structure and community, the stats and challenges you can see on the TV and app, literally everything here that you pay for is a streamlined and fun experience. I was very surprised by the experience here and I learned a lot in the process.Thank you OTF Roselle for the amazing experience.”

“Great staff with an amazing atmosphere. I like that Mallory isn’t afraid to get down on the floor with you, and show you how to properly do a move that you might not have 100%, without intimidation. I am so happy I have found SPENGA!”

“This is a family owned and operated gym, which helps to create a very unique vibe. There is a very connected, neighborhoody feel about this gym. This atmosphere, which has been cultivated by owners, staff, and area patrons, is difficult to replicate in a big-box, chain gym. Aside from the overall vibe, I like that the people at Elite are upfront with regard to their pricing. There are no guessing games. Their rates are listed on their Web site. They also offer a ten punch card so you can try out the gym before you make a commitment. Those who workout at Elite seem to be connected members of the local community. I find that the clientele is friendly, respectful, and fitness-focused. Lastly, the gym is located in a very cute area of Western Springs. There are several local businesses nearby that you can visit before or after a workout. It's also important to note that parking has never been an issue for me at Elite.”
