“I had several items that I thought were antiques, but actually were "collectables". The staff at Oakton were great. They took their time looking at my "treasures" but did not rush anything! They held my stash for another day so their partner who specialized in the swords I brought in could really examine them more closely. While I did not come away with the ton of money I envisioned, I did leave satisfied because of the manner in which these guys did business: highly recommended by a good friend, as well as what I'd read online. I would not hesitate to recommend Oakton Coins & Collectibles. They're honest and reliable.”

“This place was amazing. It was so good that I wanted it to rate it infinite amount of stars. He gives the best discounts, tons of model options to choose and some of the best model planes that I have ever seen. The plane models were preassembled and such in good shape and quality. If this was your first time here, he will ask you if you gotten a safety card from a flight. Highly recommended! Go to this shop in your free time. This place is the best and now my new happy place.”

“Great assortment of tiny furniture and houses for those interested in miniature dollhouse building. Plus other crafts, ink fir stamping, make your one cards, construction paper, form board, markers , pencils, tools, and glitters. They are working through the warehouse in the back to bring out more. This this a great place to get things for your STEAM/STEM workrooms.Tons of parking but this not a store front store anymore unfortunately, it is a warehouse. It has a small sign that you can easily drive right by and gray steel door. Hours are posted. This storr is really worth your trip. If you dont see what you want just ask.”

“This place is awesome! It is the best hidden secret of a bead store in Chicago for gems and other beads. Truly gorgeous products (all kinds of real gemstones that I wanted to buy them all) and Anna and Diana are lovely people who are so helpful and kind. Glad to support this woman owned business. Love love love their new space and look forward to going back! This special shop should not be missed!”

“I'm a huge fan of Fair Game, and try to spend money supporting my friendly local game store whenever possible. As a Dungeon Master for my D&D group there's a great array of official content, third party sources, and minis for my game. As a parent, I'm thrilled by their large selection of games age appropriate for my 3 year old. Every time I walk in their staff are friendly and helpful, and it's an excellent environment for the kids in the area. Can't say enough positive things about the place!”

“I stopped by today for the first time in a decade and I had a blast with two young folks with autism who delight in all things train-themed, especially Thomas the Tank Engine! There is a very cool interactive model train in the center of the store, and then aisles of items related to trains- including art supplies, craft kids, books... and then also Legos and my favorite brand, Schleich! Fabulous Bruder trucks, too. I didn't interact with the staff, but they were present and busy helping all the customers. I also met several other train enthusiasts who were happy to share their love to Thomas the Tank Engine with my group and that was so special to me! Free street parking. McDonalds is right across the street so we stopped for milkshakes after the train store and it was the perfect afternoon!!”

“I write this review on the 1 year anniversary of the shop's opening. The brothers that run the store set up a welcoming atmosphere for guests, they are just good conversationalists. Over my many trips to The Horror House, I have picked up monster related art, t-shirts, patches, figures and even coffee. And the coffee and all the other stuff, is so so good. They cover all the eras of horror from classic Universal Monsters, to modern horror and they cover all the genres from horror comedies to slashers. Here is my youtube review on this excellent spot youtube.com/live/80iz3Wa…”

“A classic magic shop. Small space with big inventory, ranging from sponge balls and card decks to parlor-size illusions. The best part is contact with the sales people, who are happy to demonstrate and answer questions about tricks that interest you. You won't get that from buying anywhere online! That said, we asked on two different occasions about specific tricks that turned out to be out of stock. They just said that bluntly, with no follow-up such as when these might be restocked or whether they'd even been reordered.”

“This was a great end to a tragic loss my husband passed a few months ago and he had gold coins I thought weren't worth very much well I was mistaken to my surprise”

“Knights Edge is phenomenal! Not only are there many stellar pieces to look at, but Norman and Miriam go above and beyond by making this store an immersive experience. They were also very kind and helpful and answered all our questions (since we were first time purchasers).Again, I highly highly highly recommend this store, especially if you want to buy unique products/gifts and have fun while doing it!”

“Been a big fan of heroes for years for a lot of different reasons. The owner is fantastic and their communication with social media responses is very quick. It's very convenient to know what's in stock and to get timely answers. Most hobby places I've dealt with in the past are very slow when it comes to responses/non existent. Outside of great communication, owner/staff are very friendly and overall fantastic people to deal with. To the fun stuff - it's a classic card shop with a great selection and cool memorabilia as well. They also do very fun raffles as well which is extra reason to continue to spend money on your hobby :) Keep up the great work!”

“Great and unique place for train nerds. It sort of has the feeling of an old curio shop in which the you expect the merchandise to come to life. The second floor looks like it was once a shopkeeper's apartment. The owner has lots and lots of HO freight cars and engines. Walthers seemed to be his preffered brand but he has plenty of other brands too and if you dig through you will find some gems. I found two Rivarossi passenger cars for just 15 dollars each. He gets collections in so it's worth going back regularly. He doesn't seem to carry much in the way of track, scenery and accessories but he does have some. There were some other gauges available too.”

“I did a layaway on a doll I've been wanting for a while that's so hard to find. She was shipped with lots of protective packaging, and was in her box perfectly NRFB. They were also really nice on the phone. Thank you guys so much! Will be ordering more from you guys.”

“Been all over the Chicagoland area in and out of sports cards/memorabilia shops throughout the years. I'll say Elite Cards is top of the line. When I say "top of the line", I mean both Ronnie & Gary buy-sell-trade with integrity. Wealth of knowledge in the industry. It's not just about making a "sale" with these guys, they're in it because they love what they do! A lot of shops I've been too, I've always picked up on the used car salesman vibe but not here. Straight shooters, no sugar coating, and or over inflating value on products they have. Simply tell them what you're trying to accomplish and they'll help you get there! Thanks guys!”

“My husband and i sort of wandered in (i didn't think it was open since you can't tell from the street) but we got buzzed in and WOW was it worth it, an amazing collection, some of which my husband recognized from his childhood with plenty of toys and models with all sorts of themes. GREAT stock of Horror stuff and a super friendly lady at the counter. We will absolutely be back, this place is a hidden gem and well worth the trip on a rainy Satuday afternoon.”

“We went to Archie's to see if they were interested in a variety of items we wanted to sell. The entire experience was excellent and conducted with clarity, great communication, and professionalism. Their offers were fair, and they explained why certain things were not valued as we may have expected. We felt very comfortable there and recommend it others looking for their services.”

“Five stars! My 8 year old son is a sports fan, and while on a trip to Chicago his one request was to find cool new sports cards. The experience at Tim’s lived up to all expectations, and Tim himself patiently helped Jake find the perfect cards. “Awesome toy and collectibles store near Wrigley Field. If you're ever in the area or going to a game, you gotta stop in and check this place out. Tons of action figures, Funko pops, collectibles and more. Super friendly guy behind the counter who took great care of me. This place maximizes every inch of their store and wastes no space at all. Could have spent a lot of time combing thru everything.”

“Awesome experience and owner! I brought my eight-year-old and five-year-old into the shop to teach them about coins, and he gave them a few free coins and took some of his time to teach my boys. Thank you very much for this great experience. Thank you for the good pricing too.”

“This is a great store - always well stocked and clean. The staff are nice. Tonight I forgot my wallet and the person working the front, Anita, was very kind and helped me set up my apple pay on my phone. There wasn’t a line and I’m sure she had other stuff going on to close the store, but she took the time to walk me through the process so that I could go home with my matte varnish :)Thank you Anita!”
