I’ve had a number of projects where it’s my first time trying to fix or replace something and they’ve always patiently walked me through everything and answered my questions. They’re also very dog friendly and my dog knows when we’re getting close and starts walking faster so he can get all the attention from the staff he loves.

Yesterday, I accidentally Zelled $500 to your employee Jose Hernandez. I was trying to pay one of my trades because I work as an interior designer; it did not occur to me that I had paid the Jose from your store.
Jose called me, identified himself, and took initiative to address the confusion; he could have easily pretended he did not know who I am and just kept the money. Yet he paid me back within a few hours. This is an example of honesty and decency that I feel I cannot count on very often and I want him to be commended for it.
While most of the people at your store are always courteous, Jose is one of the only ones who goes out of his way to greet me and be helpful. Here is the significance: he is helpful, not just courteous. Please keep him on staff and pay him handsomely for his services because I truly believe he makes Ace The Place to Shop in Highland Park.

“Wasn’t a believer until I bought a 13 dollar belt sander years ago and hoped it would last me a project or two. I think I may have to donate it if I ever want to be in need of buying another one.
The staff here is one of the best locations I’ve been too. I prefer it over Hanover park and Cary, the staff always makes sure your getting the best deal possible and is super friendly with answers. Probably the best place I’ve been to if you ever need a random tool to make that next project easier. Also they have a lot of tools that may normally only be available at a premium price point and the DIY’re the solution they provide is great.
Their products and easy customer service make me reminisce about the good old days of well built, inexpensive tools, that carried a lifetime or long term warranty.
I just bought an oscillating spindle/belt sander that is 99% the same guts as a Rigid for 4-5x the price. Never thought I’d own a luxury sanding item like that for the shop but I got that and a cart full of tools for less than the cost of one at the big orange store.
Oh also people like to harp on the “imported quality” where do you think everyone else comes from? You’re paying for a brand, up until recently the Hercules lineup of tools actually had Samsung sourced battery cells being utilized. I don’t think most people at this stage of the game think Samsung doesn’t know what they are doing when it comes to electronics.”

The amount of knowledge he had was exceptional; I feel extremely fortunate that his expertise and shops like this still exist. “We hired Kitchen & Bath Mart to do a full remodel of both our kitchen and bathroom and we could not be happier with the results! Krysti was our designer and she made everything so easy and was a pleasure to work with. We have an almost 100 year old home and her designs made great use of our small, quirky spaces. Bogdan did the install and his work was immaculate! He had both the kitchen and bathroom projects going at the same time and Krysti would come by to check on progress at each step, so everything went smoothly. It felt like no time at all that the work was completed and our old home had some new life.

“One night I went into our bedroom and found a chipmunk on our bed. Quickly went to our local Ace and asked for help. The sales associate told me what product I could use (sticky pads) and gave me directions on how to use it, even suggesting using peanut butter as bait. I went home and followed his directions. An hour later Mr. Chipmunk was stuck to the pad and we were able to remove him from our home. Thanks Ace.”
