“Lovely lady that works here is great. Downside is, it's a single employee location. No, for real, a government facility with one person. If she's out sick, the place is closed without notice. She takes a late afternoon lunch, handwritten sign in Spanish (only???) so I'm not sure when she starts lunch and if her target return time is 3:30 or what. Would be nice if she posted a regularly closed lunch time so we don't waste our time coming here only to find the place closed. I still choose to go to this location over my local pit of misery post office (California Ave), it's worth the no 40 minute wait and service with a smile, when it's open...”
“This is my favorite post office. Every time I come in, the staff is friendly and always willing to help. Craig, in particular, is great—always kind, professional, and a pleasure to chat with. He treats everyone with the same respect and warmth, no matter their age. It’s always a good experience here!”
“Very confused as to how this location has a lower rating than the location on Lake Street. Unlike Lake Street's location, South Oak Park's employees are EXTREMELY friendly and efficient. The parking lot is a plus.”

“Went here yesterday for passport services and came away pleasantly surprised. First off, the building itself is pretty cool—nice bonus. The staff were genuinely helpful from the start. They walked us through the documents, helped take the passport photo, and handled everything with a friendly, easygoing attitude.
The whole process was quick and smooth. She clearly explained what happens next and made sure we didn’t have any questions before we left. No confusion, no hassle.
I’ll be honest—I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the negative reviews, but that wasn’t my experience at all. Everything felt well-run and efficient. Would definitely recommend.”

“We finally had a great experience at a USPS and it was this location! After SEVERAL locations cancelled our passport appointments (Westmont twice and Lemont once) we finally got it done here. The lady that helped us was really nice (something you don’t see these days, USPS is comparable to the DMV’s employees now) and it was such a fast process. Kudos to this location.”
“Made an appointment to come and apply for my daughter’s passport. It was quick and easy. Already came with passport photos which I took on my phone with an app. Then I just printed them at Walgreens for $1.99 rather than paying $16.99. Already save cost there since purchasing a passport can be expensive.”

“Out of the seven post offices near my house that I visited, this location by far has the most polite employees.
It’s located just minutes off of I-290.
You can find a few free parking spots in front of the building otherwise. Also, there is a parking lot on the other side of the street that can fit more people.
This post office was pretty clean as well.
When I visited, there was only one other person in line.”

“Cute small and old style mail office conveniently placed in a small downtown area , I went for a couple stamps for postcards, the attention was really good , lola took time to search for some specialty stamps (american revolution ones) i was interested in , overall great service and wasn't busy at all”

“I can’t praise the service of USPS enough. My sister sent me a package from abroad, but the local post office put my house number as the zip code, and the address on the mailing label was missing my house number. It’s express mail, but the tracking shows no location. I was so afraid that the package would be lost somewhere. I went on the USPS website and filed an inquiry. A customer service representative from the Westchester post office sent me an email and called me the next day. She explained to me how the shipping works and assured me that she would pay attention to the package when it arrived.
It’s been nine days since my sister sent it out. She was planning to purchase another one and send it to me again. On a whim, I rechecked the USPS tracking and found it had been sent to the Westchester post office this morning. Believe it or not, I got it this afternoon. Awesome service.”
“I am always stressed to the max when coming to the post office but my lovely new friend Cherie that works there was so calm and helpful. I had to repackage all of my things twice so I saw her interacting with a lot of people that came through and she is truly such a sweet and kind lady. Also very knowledgeable about her job. Will gladly drive out of the city to come to this post office again.”

There is free visitor parking just north of the building. Walking time to post office maybe 4 mins. Overall I had a great experience.”
“Kenneth is the best. He acknowledges everyone and happy to help. I was going to prioritize mail and he suggested certified to send tax info because as long as it’s postmarked, no penalties. He didn’t have to tell me this option. He saved me some money because he’s kind. This office is always friendly and nice. The other reviews are unfair. This is a small post office, but gets the job done in a friendly way!”

I always have a wonderful experience at this post office, thanks to Tim. He is incredibly kind, patient, and helpful every time I come in. He is always so sweet to my son and makes us feel welcome.
One time I didn’t have tape for my package, and Tim went out of his way to help me find some so I could get everything mailed. It’s little acts of kindness like that that make such a difference.
He is always professional, friendly, and willing to help with any questions. Customer service like his is hard to find these days. Thank you, Tim, for making every visit such a positive experience!”
“The lovely elderly lady who did our passports was just so kind gentle lovely spoke some words of wisdom to us and said if I was teaching my girls to write cursive I said yes she mentioned how sad that schools are not showing that anymore to students and she said make sure to practice because next time that you're here you will get to sign your own passport. She mentioned I won't be here anymore to witness but for sure you both will be back and that made me sad her saying that but what's overall customer service was amazing”

“5 star service. This is the best post office in the area. I frequent here Mon-Sat. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, always happy to help with a smile. Even under pressure, they're efficient with moving the lines when it gets busy, and most times I can get in and out quickly without any hassle. Most importantly, I get a smile and a thank you for stopping in. I always feel welcome to return again and again.”
“Strangely enough I have a fair bit of experiences with many different post offices in the area and this location is by far one of the nicest. The employees have come to recognize me and I am able to joke around with them which breaks the usual PO tension.”
“This post office is my favorite, as long as you go through the week. If you go on saturday you will have opposite experience. The lady that works on the weekend does anything she can to do as little as possible. Through the week the employees are so nice and make sure to put the tracking, shipping labels and or postage on my packages themselves ensuring it is done right, weekend lady makes you figure it out and then gets rude when it isnt how she says its supposed to be and says cant be sent that way. I even watched her make a woman black out and rewrite the address because it was "upside down" as if they keep your packages neatly stacked and dont just throw them around. Im pretty sure on that rare occasion they need to turn or flip a box to read address ?? will never visit on a saturday again if i can avoid it.”
