“My business depends on a post office that works as one should, and this is the best post office I have experienced. They don't have a self-help kiosk or a big bin for packages, but they quickly scan in prepaid packages that you place on the counter. More importantly, they have some of the best customer service in Lansing. Bob is always helpful and Roscoe is a day-brightener!”
“Parking can be a challenge at times since it’s located between resident homes. Best to use your hazard lights when parked in a non parking spot. The closer it gets to 3pm and closing time theres more traffic due to 2 schools being let out so be patient. The full time employee that works there is amazing. She’s very informative and is straight to the point. Treat her with respect and kindness & you’ll get treated the same.”

The whole process was fast and problem free. Be nice to our fantastic federal civil servants, especially during the nonsense that is going on in our government right now. Skip the lines at other offices that may be closer to your location. Enjoy a visit to the quaint downtown of Whiting Indiana and this old fashioned Post Office.”
“I went to this post office and was greeted at the door by a man in a Batman costume. He was nice and gave me a half eaten sandwich. Delicious mustardy. I even found free gum on the underside of the counter! How Nice! I even found 13 cents and a Tootsie Role on the floor! Amazing!!!”

“I went to Homewood with a 2pm appointment Monday for a Passport, and it was a mess. Rescheduled for the next day at Hazel Crest.These 2 ladies, Andrea was one, I didn’t catch the other, but both were very pleasant, very kind, helpful, and just all around made the whole experience amazing and efficient. I was in, had a pic taken, paid and out in 15 minutes or less.Best customer service I’ve had anywhere in a long time! Thank you !!”

“Nice little low visibility US post office at the north end of strip mall off Ridge Road near Calumet Avenue. Has all the usual offerings you would expect, and it was a nice clean facility. When we dropped in there were two operators working the counter, and they were efficient and very friendly.I had made a passport appt. - which the system did not show, but they processed me anyway. Some reluctance to accept my military ID (which post office main web site says they accept). Many post office locations get bad reviews, but this one was very nice.”

“The staff at this location are always nice and friendly when ever I need to ask a question or need a service, especially Mr Thomas. As with most jobs dealing in public service and in particular this post office, there are times when services are not at their best but I attribute this to short staffing and staff turnover in the area of Mail Carriers. It it takes time to acclimate to an experienced mail carrier. Let us all move in the spirit of patience and understanding.”
