“Woodman's is a local staple. Huge selection, competitive prices, open 24 hours—especially important in a post-COVID environment where even the big dogs like Walmart and Meijer still aren't open all night. The only part of Woodman's that isn't open all night is the alcohol department. They have shorter hours. At time of review: 8 A.M. - 8:50 P.M., 9 A.M. - 8:50 P.M. on SundaysTheir gas price matches Costco down the street, but you don't need a membership. Caveat is they only accept debit or Discover credit.Overall, an essential store in my life.”

“Nice old school butcher shop feel. The meat all looked great, and I'm definitely going to go back for some steaks! This time I got a 10 lb rump roast that they cut for me right then and there. Easy going staff, family owned atmosphere.”

“So the Guanajuato Grocery store is a staple in the Mexican/Latin community on that side of town.I had lived in Rockford for YEARS and even though I always hear of it, I never visited until maybe about a year ago. You can find pretty much anything here.I remember when I first walked in, I saw how neatly organized the store was and how stocked it was too, my first impression of the outside was like meh.. not too much to think about, but inside it’s impressive how everything is well stocked and is very clean and organized. They have a bakery where they make DELICIOUS Tres leches cakes, they have a restaurant where everyone swears the tacos are the best in Rockford, and boyfriend loves them and the fact that they have a self serve salsa bar. I’ve had tamales that are very good, food doesn’t disappoint .The workers at the produce section are not messing around, they are fast, friendly and they keep everything stocked and organized, they honestly deserve a raise, I’ve never seen people enjoy what they do as much as them, with big smiles and very helpful when you ask. If I could change anything it would be the customer service on the phone, I recently called and ask if they had tamales available that weekend and the young girl said yes and hung up. I wasn’t done speaking and hung up on me as I was asking a second question.Something to mention as far as parking, it is located on an iffy side of town, but it’s somewhat safe to stop by in the mornings or early afternoons, parking unfortunately has imperfections and trash all over. Sometimes there are not parking spaces left to park in, so if you’re handicap or in a rush, plan to get there with enough time just in case there isn’t anything available right away. Hoping for a better, well lit parking lot in the future.I highly recommend Guanajuato for anyone looking for Mexican meds, good tamales, cakes and food from the restaurant area. The pricing for canned goods and grocery items are a bit up there, I normally go somewhere else for that. I still give it a 5⭐️ rating for all the neat finds within the store.Parking: I’d be careful going in alone at night, lighting is okay, but could be better.”

“Absolutely love this place! The sandwiches are always fantastic and the people working there are so nice. Their coffee is shockingly good, my wife and I get their mocha every time we go.Every time we have friends and family come to visit, we take them to DiTullio's and they never fail to say how much they love the place. We highly recommend you come here.”

“You really need to stop by Mead's a couple of times a month and make them part of your regular grocery shopping routine. There is no place in the Rockford area that treats meat better. From the perfectly juicy corned beef sandwich I had today, to the hard-to-find whole pheasant for last Christmas, this is your place. Ryan will cut your ribeye steaks just as thick as you like, and his dad practically invented seasoning. All you need after that is a cast iron skillet! The Meads have served the Rockford area for generations and have great working relationships with many businesses. Every dollar you spend here not only supports this great butcher shop, but also the local farms that supply them. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!”

“Great meatball prices. You can find a lot of things at a good price, but not everything, especially name brands. They also sell a lot of bulk sauces. This is a great place to go for certain products. If you expect a store to have the best prices on every product/category then your standards are goofy.”

“I am always satisfied when I shop at Valli's. I find the produce good and generally the prices are reasonable. I also like their meat products. Valli's is my favorite store to shop at in Rockford. Service is good and friendly. It's pleasurable to shop there. The ambience is good.”

“Nice to have this convenient store in the neighborhood. The owners are very friendly guys, the prices are relatively reasonable and they have beer, liquor, wine, ice, smokes, juice/soft drinks, snacks and basic staples - basically just what you might need in a pinch. And, they're open until 11pm, which is two hours later than any other stores of this type in the area. Hopefully will be able to get THE PAPER there soon.”

“This Dollar General has a bit of a problem keeping employees. I've made several attempts to shop here and they had closed the store because "no one wanted to work" is what the male manager told me. He said their cashier had walked out and they had no one to run the registers. This has happened about 3 or 4 different times that I'm aware of. Other than that happening the only other issue I had when I was able to shop was the lack of products but I understand they don't really have control over that situation, all grocery stores are having trouble with distribution. This location is kept clean and has always been able to keep prices down making it one of the cheapest places to buy groceries. The female manager at this location has been here for many years, she's always been very helpful and knowledgeable about the products. She's always friendly to the customers making the experience pleasant. She's the whole reason I shop at this location. She works hard and many hours. I personally saw her pick up the slack of one of the cashiers, keeping the line moving during a really busy time. They have competitive prices and for a dollar store, they have a decent selection. I give them 5 stars because as far as everything they can control or do, they do and make the shopping experience smooth and fast. Employees are trained to do their best but that's entirely up to them if they manage to do it, not the store of their manager.”

“So many weird sodas here! I got a Habanero one and a coffee cake one. They have a ton of snacks from around the world. I was surprised to find my favorite Banana Kick Korean snack. They have some Japanese KitKats as well.”

“It's expensive but always well stocked. The produce section always has good looking fruits and vegetables. Things are pretty well laid out in the store and the staff is generally pretty helpful. All that said, I need to be careful shopping there because of their prices.”

“I love this store! There's no better place to get all my bulk rice and beans and lentils. The staff is super helpful, and always answers my questions when I'm looking for a particular spice or other product. And they offer to assist me with carrying the groceries back to my vehicle!”

“I have been shopping at Aldi for many years and for the most part have been very satisfied! But IAM not happy only having 1 person checking out customers, mostly self checkout. Plus what is the deal with phone ringing constantly ? Anyone know?”

“Went to get my oil changed. Sat in line for close to a hour. 3 bays open and full. The price is right. I had to leave as I was on lunch for work! Did not get my oil changed. I will say it seemed like they could be short staffed. I will give it another try as I am a very frequent visitor at the grocery stores”

“This city has many Dollar General locations. Customer service is always excellent. They do not always have full stock or availability of weekly specials and also general merchandise that other locations have. It is a very clean location.”

“This store is always out of decaffeinated Pepsi I don't know if it's Pepsi's problem or the manager's problem I've never seen a manager in this store”

“The first time I was in a Woodman's I was mind-blown at how massive they are ! To those outside of the midwest I wonder what your grocery store equivalent is ? I've never been in a Wegman's but I imagine it is something on that scale. Costco is large too but in a different way.Not sure what to add about this Woodman's but I am always in awwww of how much there is here ! Hope the pic tour encourages you to find and share your surprises in here too !”
