“Very nice staff who have helped me on numerous occasions since I bought my first home down the street about a year ago. I’ve had a number of projects where it’s my first time trying to fix or replace something and they’ve always patiently walked me through everything and answered my questions. They’re also very dog friendly and my dog knows when we’re getting close and starts walking faster so he can get all the attention from the staff he loves.
Great neighborhood store and so glad I moved in near them. It’s great being able to walk 5 minutes and get everything you need for a home project.”

“Wasn’t a believer until I bought a 13 dollar belt sander years ago and hoped it would last me a project or two. I think I may have to donate it if I ever want to be in need of buying another one.
The staff here is one of the best locations I’ve been too. I prefer it over Hanover park and Cary, the staff always makes sure your getting the best deal possible and is super friendly with answers. Probably the best place I’ve been to if you ever need a random tool to make that next project easier. Also they have a lot of tools that may normally only be available at a premium price point and the DIY’re the solution they provide is great.
Their products and easy customer service make me reminisce about the good old days of well built, inexpensive tools, that carried a lifetime or long term warranty.
I just bought an oscillating spindle/belt sander that is 99% the same guts as a Rigid for 4-5x the price. Never thought I’d own a luxury sanding item like that for the shop but I got that and a cart full of tools for less than the cost of one at the big orange store.
Oh also people like to harp on the “imported quality” where do you think everyone else comes from? You’re paying for a brand, up until recently the Hercules lineup of tools actually had Samsung sourced battery cells being utilized. I don’t think most people at this stage of the game think Samsung doesn’t know what they are doing when it comes to electronics.”
“The manager, Rob, was super resourceful and was able to help me with everything I needed! All of the employees in the store were also super nice too. Anytime you walked by an employee they either offered to help or commented to have a great rest of the day. Nice to have a hardware store like this in the area.”
“They are so knowledgeable and always help me to find the perfect hardware. I always bring either a cabinet door or a handle I removed to make sure I get the right size. If you can't find what you are looking for there you won't find it anywhere.”

“Had to duck in to buy a couple feet of wire for a light switch install. The store was staffed very lightly but the cashier was able to flag down the manager on duty. The manager tracked down the right wire, cut it to length, and peppered in some DIY knowledge along the way. Even though the wire only cost a couple bucks, he never rushed me.
Glad to have this store in the area for quick trips. Staff are friendly and professional. Certainly beats the longer trip to the big box home improvement store.”

“I still use my Bosch 601 113 134 VS 935 (2 speed) Electronic drilland the 8-1/4" circular saw. I had Addison put a new switch on the saw some years ago. Got 3 of the 12Volt drills. Most tools within the last 3 years bought from Milwaukee have left me high and dry.”

“Tom at the Lake Zurich Rental center really helped me out. I was planning on renting a sewer rodding machine because my shower was backing up. After listening to my issue tom suggested the issue was in my septic field. Turns out I took the cover off and the tank was totally full. Tom chose to help me solve my problem over the phone instead of just trying to rent me a piece of equipment. I will think of this rental department whenever I need another tool to rent. “Great service, helpful and knowledgeable people, competitive prices. A great “go to” when you need to get projects done. What you need is in stock and immediately available. The staff knows the projects in their department and will help when a project crosses over multiple departments. They also know the latest products available and can inform and demonstrate them. Way better than your father’s hardware store. The team at the Palatine store is outstanding.”
“I inadvertently ordered the wrong color, despite saving some money due to a free shipping coupon. I contacted Koffler and spoke with Heide, who offered for me to return the product and order the correct color.
It was my error and there would be additional cost to return it, so I decided to keep what I ordered and maybe find a place to use that while waiting for another free shipping coupon.
Heide felt bad that I ordered the wrong product the first time and posted a note to herself to let me know the next time there was a free shipping coupon. When that occurred, Heide reached out to me, not once, but twice so I was able to take advantage of the free shipping. Who does that?
Heide and the others I spoke with at Koffler were very nice to speak with and I complimented Heide to her manager, Ron.
