“We had a single car detached garage that was original to the house, probably 60 years old at that point. The foundation had cracked in a couple places and water would pool inside every time it rained. We tried sealing the cracks but it kept getting worse. Eventually realized we needed to just tear it down and start fresh with something bigger. DuPage came out and looked at what we had, then walked us through a couple different size options for a new build. We went with a two car since we had the lot space for it. They handled the demolition of the old one, poured a new slab, and built the whole thing up from there. The drainage around the new foundation is way better and we haven't had any water issues since it went up. They also offer financing which helped us spread out the cost without having to wait another year to save up. The new garage is solid, dry, and big enough that we actually have room for storage along the side walls now.

“For truck drivers... entrance is the west gate. Pull up to the gate and call the number posted. Pretty easy backing. Unload time is about an hour. Getting to the delivery can have some tight turns but overall not bad.”

“I’ve been going here for over 40 years, from when it was a single building, all the way up to the current layout.
They have always been the go to place for those simple things, to those unusual fasteners and Pushmatic breakers. The running joke was, if Len’s didn’t have it, you didn’t need it. Well, with the invention of the internet and stuff, it’s a little less true, but still great for product.
The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, always great with their service department, I love their propane refill service.”

“Ace is the place and this particular store is one of my go to spots for hardware and keys. I also bought my last Toro mower here. The only downside is when I had the mower serviced, there was not very good communication about how things were going. This might have been due to the place they send the mowers out to, but the manager recently told me she would personally get back to me and didn’t.”

“Excellent service on the lighting department. Number one the array of lighting is so fantastic. Each fixture is work of Art. They have a giant computer screen that you can scroll through to see every and any light fixture on the planet is totally enjoyable. My designer at the store is Katie and she was just perfect for me. Excellent communication, relaxed, friendly made it so easy for me to spend my money at Hortons. I will be back and I highly encourage anybody to come to the store it does say Ace hardware Hortons. The lighting is upstairs and the hardware section is downstairs.”
“Nice store. I needed gardening gloves and landscaping waste bags. They were very conveniently placed near the cashier. The gardening glove selection is limited, but I was able to find a pair that fit my hands, and contained a protective leather tip for the index finger. Great for digging around river rocks.
It’s a small store and the selection of product varieties is highly curated. But it’s my first stop to purchase items for my home’s hardware needs.”

“I had such an exceptional experience at this Home Depot location that I felt compelled to share it.
After visiting multiple stores trying to find a plant that matched the aesthetic I needed for my office, I kept running into limitations and was honestly feeling discouraged. When I arrived at this location, I was greeted by Aidan, who immediately stood out for his kindness and willingness to help. He took the time to really listen to what I was trying to accomplish and genuinely cared about finding a solution.
Shortly after, the manager, Shi, stepped in — and together, they went above and beyond to make something work for me. What impressed me the most was not just that they helped, but how they helped: with positivity, creativity, and a true customer-first attitude that I hadn’t experienced at other locations.
Aidan personally assisted me every step of the way, and both him and Shi made me feel like my request truly mattered. Even when I had to come back with a small issue afterward, Shi handled it with the same level of professionalism and kindness, immediately resolving it without hesitation.
It’s rare to come across people who genuinely care about customer experience the way they do. Their attitude, patience, and willingness to go the extra mile made a lasting impression on me.

“I was truly impressed by Gus and the entire service department. They recently serviced my CMC 83 HD track lift. They performed a very thorough inspection and completed necessary repairs quickly and competently, and at reasonable expense. Communication was excellent throughout the process. Highly recommend them for aerial lift service and repair.

“We’ve been ACE customers for sometime but today we feel we must say a loud “Thank you!” to two gentleman assistants at this store for a very special reason. Around midday today, I arrived at the store in search of some high temperature wire, nuts and tape to fix our water heater. Since our English is exactly perfect, we failed to get the right wire. Before we realized it, the assistants asked us more questions and found out that we needed wires that can stand really high temperatures which were not available at this store but should be at an auto parts shop such as AutoZone where we got what we really wanted. The two extremely friendly and attentive and helpful assistants essentially went out of their way to help us avoid what could become a hazard at our home. No words can express our gratitude to these two gentlemen who work at ACE for their helpfulness and care for customers. We will definitely shop more at ACE because of them.
