“Best Post office anywhere. It’s the hidden gem of the Northshore. Lines are minimal or next to nothing, service is top notch. Clerks and Post Master there are polite, have manners and treat you like a human unlike the rest of the post offices around!! Anyone else that reviews this place and gives a bad review is most likely a hater. I saw someone post that this office randomly closes. That’s a total like! Especially at the times he posted it closed. I’m a frequent customer as in everyday bc my company sends me there everyday without fail at around 3:45 to process certifieds and this office clearly states it’s operating times and definitely is open and up and running EVERYDAY minus Saturdays past 3:50pm! The office does close M-F from 1pm-2-pm for lunch but for folks that know how to read signs they would see that clearly outside!! And the sign they put up inside at the entrance of the second door. DUHHHHH…”

“Went by for a passport service and found myself not carrying debit card or enough cash on me. The staff went above and beyond to assist with it and saved me a trip! Special shout out to Arnold! Great guy with excellent sense of humor! Friendly girls at the desk. I could see the camaraderie amongst the staff at the back and that certainly translates into keeping customers happy. Highly recommend this location.”

“Naomi is fantastic. The others who work there are wonderful friendly knowledgeable individuals who if it were under my control I would give them a raise. If you need a post office there is no better one than this.”

“I had a postal money order for about $700 that could not be used for the purpose intended so I needed to have the money refunded. Lisa at the Highland Park Post Office is my hero. She took my phone number and called when they had enough cash on hand to make the refund. It took quite a few months because they rarely have that much cash but she faithfully kept my number. THANK YOU, LISA! Other post offices misinformed me. They told me I had to get the refund at a bank, which is not true. Lisa was right and went above and beyond the call of duty to help.”

“Really nice staff! I wasn’t able to get passport service here, but the clerk was able to give me instructions to set up an appointment at another nearby location. She also double checked all my forms to make sure I was prepared. Which was much appreciated.”

“I love this post office! I don't live in Highwood but I go to this location as you get a small-town feel, the clerks are friendly, funny, helpful and efficient.”

“In regards to my visit today everything went great! Keoshia and the other employee at the counter were very helpful in guiding us through sending a priority mail package and telling us where the materials we needed were. Made the process go by very quickly.”

“This post office is the best one in the area! Very efficient and warm employees. I don’t know her name, but the older black woman always meets me with a smile. This place is much better than Gunnison!!!!”

“I'm new to this location, and receive excellent customer service. The young lady who assisted me was very helpful when it came to helping me to set up my PO Box, as well as offering me suggestions on how to locate my missing mail.”

“I was expecting staff who were surly, irked, and overall unfriendly. I received Daiquiri (sp?), who was the literal opposite +100 of my first sentence. She was so helpful, cheerful, competent, and amazing that I will tell people who live on the southside of Chicago to go to Niles to handle their post office needs. I am going to post this review on multiple sites so people can get the competent and kind governmental services our taxes pay for, and so that Daiquiri and her co-worker (I didn't work with him, but heard him working very kindly with 2 confused customers) receive raises if this federal administration would allow that in 2025.”

“I see a lot of bad reviews but I've been here probably about 10 times and generally don't really have any issues. And definitely not any issues that would not happen at any other post office I've been to. Yeah the workers might not have a fake customer service Smile on 24/7 but don't really expect it, they help with the transaction and then we're done”

“nicest Chicago USPS staff I've encountered! good customer service by any standard, not just USPS

Ms. Virgance is so sweet and thoughtful! Made me and my partner feel very comfortable chatting, and I appreciate that she protected the addresses from smudging by taking the extra step to put tape over them ❤️ thank you, y'all are the best!”

“This post office is my favorite, as long as you go through the week. If you go on saturday you will have opposite experience. The lady that works on the weekend does anything she can to do as little as possible. Through the week the employees are so nice and make sure to put the tracking, shipping labels and or postage on my packages themselves ensuring it is done right, weekend lady makes you figure it out and then gets rude when it isnt how she says its supposed to be and says cant be sent that way. I even watched her make a woman black out and rewrite the address because it was "upside down" as if they keep your packages neatly stacked and dont just throw them around. Im pretty sure on that rare occasion they need to turn or flip a box to read address ?? will never visit on a saturday again if i can avoid it.”

“I went to this location about half an hour before closing on a Friday (I know ... it was the earliest I could get there) in order to send a package of documents internationally. I had reviewed the options online, but still wasn't sure what the best shipping option would be. The USPS worker who helped me was patient with my questions and informative in her explanation of the options; she explained clearly the delivery timelines for different methods and which offered signature on delivery (which I needed). I stepped aside to complete the necessary forms; because of the time of day, of course, several people passed through while I was there, and she was able to help everyone get through the line before closing. (There was one woman who came in and did try to skip the whole line and went straight to the counter while there was a customer being assisted, and the USPS worker -- rightly! -- told her she'd need to get in line like everyone else.) Post offices get a bad rap for service, but I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this location for help with any shipping in the future.”

“There is a great, great, great lady working Tuesday afternoons! She really made my day! I do not know her name but she is very helpful and knowledgeable. All other employees should go to her for training. A lot of other people are giving negative comments and negative ratings, but I think they are the ones with the bad attitudes, because this post office was a wonderful experience. The lady working here really restores my faith in the American Postal Service.”

“Went to send a package from here and it was phenomenal that it got delivered earlier than expected. The lady working there was really nice (loved her hair) and was able to help with what I needed.

The only negative thing here is that they really need more than one person working at the office. Services are slow because of this.”

“I needed to go to the post office to complete fingerprinting for a job offer. As I normally expect trips to the post office to take some time I paid for 30min at the parking meter. However, I was in and out in less than 15min! The service was fast, friendly professionally and efficient. Go here if you need finger printing done! Not every post office does it but I can verify that this location does it and does it fast!”

“I came to the Lynnwood location to drop off bulk mail, something I’ve been doing for many years at various locations. I know the routine and what’s required at each one. However, a newer person in the back seemed determined to do things differently. They told me I needed to pay for something that was already paid and directed me to another area for help—where the staff had no idea what was going on.

Thankfully, I was eventually able to find a supervisor who, along with another supervisor, quickly understood the situation and handled it perfectly. Meanwhile, the original person who sent me on this wild goose chase stood by, telling others I was doing it wrong.

Let’s be clear—I’ve been handling bulk mail professionally for a long time. Nothing significant has changed with this process in all these years. Some people just need to come down off their high horse and stop acting like they’re reinventing the wheel just because they’re newer at this location I am guessing. Or they have been there a long time, and it is just crabby, at everybody. Even at their supervisors.
I always say enjoy life.
AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR JOB, JUST QUIT.”

“Everyone is always very friendly at this location. Always willing to help people, only downside is not enough employees, however the two employees at the counter work very fast and keep the line moving.”

“The vitriol toward this place is - to me - incomprehensible...I've been coming here for years and never once had a bad experience. The clerks & carriers are kind as can be, interior of the office is always clean and neatly organized, essentially the ideal village post office. Far too many seem to take the USPS for granted. Once in a blue moon I've had a minor mix-up or two, but nothing worth writing about. Whatever issues the post office has are with upper-level management, not any of the hardworking personnel who are out there every day, keeping the service alive and running.”

“I usually have an unpleasant experience at the post office. I live near downtown so I was in this neighborhood & went to the post office & can easily say I’ll be coming back here.I was lucky enough to have Debra take care of me to send out my package & she was wonderful! Super helpful & sweet! Need more employees like her!:)”

“I went to this location in the morning, when traffic is lower and one postal employee can keep up with it. And that was person was very cheerful and competent! I was in and out quickly.”

“Monique was amazing!! I arrived 2 minutes before close, not realizing I had to print something to make my return, and she directed me to a place around the corner where I could print my document and stayed open an extra few minutes so I could make sure my purchase was returned on time. She’s so helpful, friendly, and kind!!”

“I had a great experience recently at the Morton Grove Post Office (June 2024). In order to officially change my mail forwarding address due to a move, I needed to go into the Post Office to confirm my identity, old mailing address, and new mailing address. Al at the front desk was great. He explained the process thoroughly and what I needed to complete it. He was also EXTREMELY patient when I was attempting to shuffle though my email looking for my leases and an email from USPS that I needed. I really appreciate how helpful and calm he was during the whole process and it was very seamless. Thanks Al!!!”

“I guess I got lucky. I didn’t experience any of the negative things other people did here. The place was clean, well-lit, and the staff was friendly. No line either, which was nice. I’m sure your mileage may vary depending on the day, but so far this has been one of my better post office experiences.”
