“Henry was absolutely amazing! He was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. He took the time to answer all of our questions, provided clear guidance, and made sure everything was handled smoothly. Excellent customer service, great communication, and a genuinely positive attitude. Employees like Henry make a huge difference. Thank you for all your help and outstanding support!”
“Great Post Office I’ve ever been to. Most offices have rude workers, but Debra is the sweetest, down-to-Earth lady ever. And this company should offer her a top employee bonus for being crazy kind, even under pressure and distasteful customers. She decorates, offers candies, does extra cleanings, and gives the Post Office the proper name that would expect of a worldwide community-necessary store.”
“My business depends on a post office that works as one should, and this is the best post office I have experienced. They don't have a self-help kiosk or a big bin for packages, but they quickly scan in prepaid packages that you place on the counter. More importantly, they have some of the best customer service in Lansing. Bob is always helpful and Roscoe is a day-brightener!”
“Last month I came by to receive my two packages and first off, why are the opening hours so inconvenient? But the lady behind the counter was nice enough and I did end up receiving my packages so it wasn't too bad.”

“Service is very quick and employees are pretty knowledgeable of services offered. Every time I come to this location, even when there is a line I'm always in and out. Among many this is by far the best post office that I've visited yet.”
“Had a passport appointment today for my son, Ashea helped us and she was amazing! Super friendly and explained the next steps for my son's passport. It was super quick and easier than I thought it would be. Thanks Ashea, keep up the great work!?”
“I went into the Calumet City Post office. The counter person Donald was very nice and helpful. He came to the counter and the line began to move. In and out. Kudos to Donald”
“These are my people I love this Post office. I'm cool with all the people there. The post master is cool and all the people who work there. And I ship a lot. I have shipped over 20000 package out of the post office. I'm sure they know who I am.”
“Parking can be a challenge at times since it’s located between resident homes. Best to use your hazard lights when parked in a non parking spot. The closer it gets to 3pm and closing time theres more traffic due to 2 schools being let out so be patient. The full time employee that works there is amazing. She’s very informative and is straight to the point. Treat her with respect and kindness & you’ll get treated the same.”
“Last week, I had to send some important documents off. I usually go to Highland, but didn't want to drive that far. My experiences at the Tolleston branch were soooo horrible, just got tired of the rudeness. This was at least 2 to 3 years ago. My parents used money orders, it's just what they believed in. So when I'd go, the machine would always break down. It was terrible. One lady was so horribly rude, it was ridiculous. When I'd come in she'd roll her eyes, and just be surly!! Then she'd whisper about me to her collegues. This was the 15th & Broadway mostly. Just got tired of horrible service. When I walked in the post office, Teala, hope I spelled it right, was helping another customer. She was so pleasant, conversing with the customer, not rushing her away, answering all her questions. Then the next customer she did the same, accepting her box with no problem. Then it was my turn. I explained what I needed, she explained the process, and even printed my receipt without me having to ask or press the button. She was very thorough and that was definitely A1 customer service. Now I also agree with another persons review. The post offices are waaayyyyy out of date. No self service machines, dark and dingy, still using the old money order machine, and the look is still from the 70's. Not sure what we need to do to get an upgrade, but hopefully it will happen soon!! But thank you Teala, I lost hope in my local post office, and now considering returning.?”

“I personally never had a problem since I've been going there which I have been going for the past several months 7 months to be exact and I never had a problem the only concern I have is that the post office is so small when it is a lot of people in there they stand too close to you that's why I go as early as I can to get in I've never had a problem anytime I go in there I'm not in there for a very long I'm going to get the guy's name and post it here when I go in there today have a wonderful day everyone if that doesn't work for you maybe you should find another post office”

“EVERYTIME I frequent this place, I'm treated with such high levels of respect, & they helped me set up my p.o. box. In thankful. The lady whose picture is shown here is ALWAYS pleasant, & helpful. Even the men are courteous, & complimentary. I'm thankful that we all have a postoffice near us. The place is neat, & have an array of shipping boxes, & gift cards. Thank u all, & keep up the good work.”
“I gave a UPS package to USPS. I realized 3 days later the situation, so I went to go check the post office. Although the package was not there, the front desk lady assured me that it was being rerouted to the right destination. Not saying that these other comments aren't valid in their concerns, because they have good points. However, I would like to point out that USPS has a policy that they can destroy mail that's not theirs. This post office didn't do that, thankfully. To anyone selling on Ebay/Mecari and made this same mistake recently, don't worry too much about it. Everything should get sorted out by itself, but you should still check and ask the post office.”
“i went in to apply for a passport and the woman at the counter was extremely pleasant. she went above and beyond. when there was a discrepancy with my paperwork, she called and double checked that everything would be okay. i didn't get her name, but she made my day. i appreciate the help.”
“they do the best they can. i used to work in the post office in Germany in the Army. and unless youve ever had that job you couldnt know how hard it gets. when you have people who expect you to mail things with the wrong info, etc, and then get mad if something theyre expecting in the mail gets delivered later than they think. it all takes TIME PATIENCE AND ACCURACY in order for a item to be mailed to someone, if this country would realize that ,mayb there would be less anger and more understanding.,”

“I really wish I would have gotten her name but it was the morning of October 20th. The woman working there was so nice. It was my first time sending out a package and she was patient and explained everything to me. Such a pleasant experience. Thank you!?”
“The office looks like it's been there since 1910, but the service is as up-to-date and efficient as possible, always a pleasure of visiting here to get things done”

“I really like having a post office near my home in Miller Beach and think my mail carrier Cody is tremendous. My puppy Snoopy isn't so fond of people walking around my home and seems to especially like to bark at our mail carrier but Cody took the time to meet Snoopy and become friends. This was especially terrific and reminded me of when THE DOG WHISPERER introduced a dog on his TV show to the mail carrier with success. I'll forever be grateful of Cody and the Gary postal service, thank yoU.”

“It’s been twice that someone has sent me something to the wrong address and this staff always tracks it down asap and corrects my mistake. Not sure why all the negative reviews but I’ve been here for 3 years and haven’t had one issue with our mail, thanks for the great service, from the post office team to the delivery team ?? .”
“The front desk rep did a great job managing customer needs. While I was there, some complained about only one window being open—but the rep efficiently handled multiple tasks and cut the line down by 75%. My visit was longer due to a mail hold mistake I made, but thankfully everything's back on track. Dealing with customers face-to-face isn’t easy, (especially during heatwaves) so I really appreciate the effort from both the in-store staff and my reliable mail carrier. I’m sad to be moving, but grateful for three years of consistent service”
“This is an updated review, from my previous 1-star, negative review. I am happy to say that the other individuals from both East Chicago locations, have now retired!! Now, we have new younger staff. Forgive me if that’s a horrible comparison, but then generation we will in today encourages proper communication. These new people carry on a conversation, they are friendly, and they are definitely there to help you; they are not upset or bitter (yet)! I hope these individuals continue being the familiar faces for the years to come, even if I don’t go to the post office that many times in a year. Thank you, upper management, for taking the time to see who was already working for you, and hopefully see this position as a promotion… customer service, is not easy!! Thanks again — PS, thank you for taking the extra time for finding the black envelope that my dad said was to be returned to sender! -FC”
