“i had a really great experience here opening a PO Box. i was slightly hesitant based on the negative reviews so i just want to add my positive experience in case anyone is on the fence. There was one employee at the desk and she was very nice, helpful, and efficient with myself and everyone in front of me despite being it kind of being a holiday (Monday July 3).There were three people in front of me and i still got in, registered, and out before my 15min parking was up.I didn’t catch her name, but the employee working today was so lovely and i wouldn’t hesitate recommending people to use this location!”

“I had to get an expedited passport and Jerry was super helpful and made the process go by smoothly. We even got our passports delivered to us in under 3 weeks and I was afraid it was take so much longer from all the other stories I’ve heard.”

“Can you believe the retail (live person staff help) hours you can have with this? This is the main post office in Chicago with amazing hours for those who need life help with packages or express mail or passport services. You can ask someone if you have everything ready for the renewal or first time passports and mail it from here. They say you should expect express passport service to be processed in 3-5 weeks so for regular passport service maybe 1-3 months ish. Plan in advance. It’s vast and nice and you have escalators to go up to the service floor. On the floor above parking which is free… which is a rare thing in downtown Chicago to begin with…There’s a self service mail box area for stamped and metered mail so you can drop off and go. The staff were friendly and nice and at 9:00am on a Tuesday it was not busy at all and I only had about a 10 min wait with 3 people ahead of me. I will come here whenever I need to do a late night run.”

“Usually there's a line, but that's life in the Third City (aka Second City).Clerks range from nice to indifferent to irritated, but that's life at the perpetually underfunded mail service. The building is low key Art Deco and WPA coolness, but that's life when you're not a cheapskate and actually pay your taxes.”

“Went for a passport appointment, and they were very polite, patient, and friendly, i usually experienced bad attitude at other usps facilities so i was surprisingly happy about their good attitude! 10/10 recommend.”

“I recently sent a package to a customer in Chicago. The package was mis-sent and ended up at the Norwood Park Post Office. I called the post office and spoke to E.J. He was very courteous and professional. He took down the tracking number and informed he would look for it, while I’m still waiting on the phone (I’m calling from San Diego). After a brief period of being on hold. He told me, he had the package in his hands!! E.J. informed me, this would be sent on its way. My customer received the package ? shortly thereafter after. Thank you E.J.? Outstanding job!!! Go ? Bears!”

“This is my go to USPS location. I have the bigger Dearborn office nearby too but this one is much more efficient. Jean is super helpful, kind and efficient and he will go the extra mile to make your experience smooth and pleasant. She's usually there on her own (apparently the other person doesn't show up regularly) but she's always committed to get the job done. She's a treasure so please make sure she has the support she needs.”

“Super kind staff and easy self service options too, so you can scan a pre-paid label for a receipt at a kiosk without even having to interface with anyone! Any time I’m here, I can be in and out in a matter of a few minutes.”

“Last month I came by to receive my two packages and first off, why are the opening hours so inconvenient? But the lady behind the counter was nice enough and I did end up receiving my packages so it wasn't too bad.”

“I went to this location about half an hour before closing on a Friday (I know ... it was the earliest I could get there) in order to send a package of documents internationally. I had reviewed the options online, but still wasn't sure what the best shipping option would be. The USPS worker who helped me was patient with my questions and informative in her explanation of the options; she explained clearly the delivery timelines for different methods and which offered signature on delivery (which I needed). I stepped aside to complete the necessary forms; because of the time of day, of course, several people passed through while I was there, and she was able to help everyone get through the line before closing. (There was one woman who came in and did try to skip the whole line and went straight to the counter while there was a customer being assisted, and the USPS worker -- rightly! -- told her she'd need to get in line like everyone else.) Post offices get a bad rap for service, but I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this location for help with any shipping in the future.”

“The lady supervisor with short haircut at the window has excellent customer service skills. She goes out her way to accommodate with lost packages or mail that is not in my box. I forgot to mention that I receive my mail in my PO box. The lines are short these days. I can truly say she try her best to run this place in a professional and upbeat way. Our communities need leaders of integrity, patience, and understanding like her.”

“I’m shocked by all the bad reviews. I’ve had to come here often lately as I’m selling some things on Poshmark and every time it’s quick and kind service. I’ve interacted with several employees and they’re all nice and professional. No complaints.”
