There's one employee in particular, whom I believe may be the store manager (though I'm embarrassed to say I don't recall her name), who has been incredibly helpful every time I've come in.
The first time, she helped me find the perfect fitting harness for my girl. The second time was on Labor Day, a day I really try not to shop, but my dog needed soft food per her emergency vet's instructions from the day before. Once again, she went above and beyond.
During a scary week, this store made things a little less scary by making sure I had what I needed to take care of a loved one. Thank you for being there for the local community and for treating our pets like family too.

On top of the great service, the store itself is a huge upgrade. They have a much better variety of collar sizes than Pet Supplies Plus. I do wish they kept a few more items in stock for giant dogs, even if it's just a small selection, but overall, the experience here is night and day. Highly recommend!

30th Street Animal Hospital
8120 East 21st Street, Indianapolis30th St animal hospital is without question, THE best veterinary hospital in Indianapolis. My dog is elderly, diabetic, went blind from cataracts, had cataract surgery and survived a horribly infected brown recluse spider bite. By all reasonable expectations my little Aussie (Sophie) should not be with us today. I would say 30th St animal hospital has gone above and beyond however; this is standard practice and they treat ALL pets as well as their families with the same dedication, skill and care. The work ethic, and synergy of their staff is something to behold. If you want the best care possible for your adopted family member, this is where you should take them. As long as I live in Indiana, I will be bringing my animals to 30th St. Animal Hospital.
Special mention to Dr. Barnes (retired and missed), TC your front desk anchor, ambassador and emotional support human ;-), Candice who is always level headed in any crisis as has a heart that barely fits in her chest, Nicole who provides strength and stability in any team, she will make sure the tech's and doctors will know what you prioritize and feel is most important. My final mention is Lizzy who has been a wonderful caregiver during some of the critical moments in keeping Sophie alive during her massive infection from the spider bite last year. Even today, Lizzy keeps an eye on the patient list and asks to see Sophie before we leave. In my last checkup, Lizzy asked to see Sophie before we left, even though she was on the team to treat Sophie.
In summary, if you want to take your pet to a clinic that will care for them as much as you do... this is the place to go. Don't hesitate, don't wait... this is your veterinary clinic, and they will welcome you into their family. I sincerely hope you share this review and write one of your own when you decide to put your pet's health in the most capable hands available.
I am editing this review to include Dr Smith. This gentlemen is a quiet and humble team member that may not get enough attention for his efforts. My face to face experiences started 2 years ago during a Halloween open house. This was time set aside for the staff behind the scenes to interact with the families and patients. Dr Smith was the tour guide of the operating rooms and generously answered any and all questions not just in medical terms but in plain speak anyone can digest. He was patient with everyone and gave me a 101 education about sterile protocols. We talked specifically about peristaltic pumps and how they are implemented in the operating room. My second interface with Dr. Smith is when Sophie had her struggle with the aforementioned spider bite. He worked the weekends during her struggle, and allowed me to spend time with her during off-hours while he was working. Dr Smith was engaged and monitoring Sophie's condition with gentle care and attentiveness. This man is humble, generous, patient, and motivated. His quiet demeanor and consistent hard work deserves notice and mention. He is a critical staple in surgery and diagnosis behind the scenes. I would recommend him with confidence to any pet owner who needs an empathetic surgeon with steady hands and a sharp mind.

Bark Tutor School for Dogs
2122 Broad Ripple Avenue, IndianapolisWe absolutely love Bark Tutor! Our 8-year-old Shetland Sheepdog, Madison, goes to daycare every Friday, and she loves it.
We first started with Bark Tutor when Madison was a puppy and went through training with them. She did great and loved the experience. Since then, we’ve continued taking her to daycare every Friday so she can socialize with other dogs. It has made a huge difference in how she reacts to other dogs outside of daycare. She always comes home happy and tired!
Being a herding dog, Madison also developed a habit of trying to herd delivery people at our house—which we found much cuter than the delivery people did! Kala came to our home and gave us great guidance on how to correct the behavior, and it was extremely helpful.
The entire staff has always been professional, kind, and caring. We never have to worry about Madison when she’s there because we know she’s being well cared for.
And, of course, we love the daily “Report Card” with pictures of Madison and all her adventures from the day!
We really can’t say enough good things about Bark Tutor. They’ve been a wonderful part of Madison’s life from puppyhood to now, and we highly recommend them!

Purpose Driven K9 Dog Training
1621 East Thompson Road, IndianapolisPurpose Driven K9 has helped us tremendously with our dog, Reggie. We rescued Reggie at 8 months old, and right away we knew he was incredibly smart but needed help with walking, socialization, and impulse control. He’s a 75-lb bully/husky mix who is extremely strong, and walks were a nightmare. He has a high prey drive, especially for squirrels, and would get so excited seeing people or dogs that he would pull like he was determined to take us with him.
At home, Reggie was great with his basic commands, but once we stepped outside, it was like he couldn’t hear us. We spent months trying different harnesses, leashes, and training in low-stimulation environments with little progress.
I was initially hesitant about e-collar training because I had never used one with previous dogs, but after feeling like we had exhausted our options, we decided to give it a try through training at PDK9. We did the 10-day board and train followed by group classes, and it was 100% worth it.
One of my biggest concerns was that a board and train would somehow change Reggie’s personality or take away his spark, but the opposite has been true. He is a happier, more fulfilled dog, and we finally have the tools to help him succeed! We can now walk him on a loose leash, heel, and use a long line to let him safely sniff and explore—which is truly where he is happiest and something I wasn’t sure we’d ever be able to do.
Group classes have also been huge for helping him focus around other dogs, and the social sessions have given him opportunities to interact and play appropriately.
Most importantly, PDK9 has taught us so much about Reggie and his behavior. We now have the knowledge and tools to continue training in a way that is enjoyable and enriching for both Reggie and us, rather than something that feels stressful or overwhelming.
We’re so grateful for everything PDK9 has done for Reggie and for us, and we couldn’t recommend them more!

Northside Pet Services
7935 Oakland Road, IndianapolisWe had a wonderful cat sitting experience with Seth of Northside Pet Services. While we were on a trip, Seth visited the cats twice a day and sent photos/videos of his visits. One of my cats was very shy at first, which is common for her, and she would hide under the bed. Seth would come upstairs with her food and get down on the floor to feed her. He went above and beyond and it paid off. After four or five days, she was greeting him on the stairs when he arrived and began coming downstairs to join my other cat for her feedings. Toward the end of the pet sitting, he was sending videos of both cats sitting with him on the couch. I cannot believe how great that made us feel and we could really relax on our trip.
Seth also provided great advice on how to integrate a new cat into the household. My son is moving from out of state and we will take care of his cat for a while until his move is finalized.
I also like that Seth had a backup sitter, Micheal, who joined him on their initial meet and greet. I am so happy to have found Northside Pet Services and have recommended them to a friend who also used their services. We will definitely use them for all of our cat sitting needs.

The man who served me was helpful, efficientu and very sweet. The sun was shining so I enjoyed my coffee at one of the bistro tables outside. It’s a nice place to get caffeinated in the downtown core!

But the increase in stars is due to the lady working today, she was absoultly great ! And very helpful in my needy, dramatic attitude over how much prices have increased etc...

Southside Animal Shelter
1614 West Edgewood Avenue, IndianapolisI visited their brand new facility on Emerson and Raymond. It's massive. Staff were able to keep it immaculate clean, and the animals were all well cared for. I came home with a new healthy kitten, Ronnie. Highly recommend giving them a visit! So many precious animals that need homes.
