About Avis Car Rental
Avis Car Rental in Merrillville provides excellent service with a very kind and helpful staff, making the experience easy and stress-free. Customers report it is a very clean location with extremely well-kept cars and fast, efficient service. Many note it is the best location, with a great and friendly environment. The staff offers great assistance and conversation, often having vehicles ready and waiting for a quick check-in. However, some policies can seem strange, such as requiring a customer to drive a damaged vehicle back for an exchange and charging for gas in that damaged car. While the local team is praised, the centralized call center is noted as not being as efficient or helpful. Overall, this location has a much different and positive feel, earning strong loyalty from its customers.

Eric helped us swap out our car which had low tire pressure. Friendly service and gave extra time to answer our questions.

I recently rented a vehicle from this location and the car was not really cleaned well. I generally rent from Avis and have a great experience. The staff at the location was great and professional… I just believe the process for turning around the cars to be rented needs to be looked at.
