“I have had a positive experience shopping at Save A Lot in Michigan City. They offer competitive prices and a decent selection of affordable items. However, I have noticed that the quality of their meat and vegetables can be inconsistent. Despite this, I appreciate their clean store and generally good prices on most items. I would rate them four stars overall.”
“We love Gordon's. Going to school in Indiana in the late 80s and the 1990s, I and many of my friends loved the fiestada Mexican pizzas. They're so good they pretty much became a core memory, lol. I hadn't had one in years when a friend told me that I could order them by the case here. Sure enough, he was right. Great value for a case of 72 and they taste just as great as I remembered. They don't have them in the store, but you can order them and they usually have them in within 1 day!
We also love to buy the 5lb cases of gyro meat, the feta cheese, and the tzatziki sauce to make gyros at home. Much better than the box kits you can buy at most stores. Always good deals to be found here. Clean and well stocked store. Friendly employees and management. Always a good experience here.”

“Aldis is my favorite grocery store ,great quality low prices .Their quality guarantee is second to none .Also their seasonal European item are always a treat .I was in Aldis years ago talking to a older customer, I believe she was a War bride ,she brought to my attention how cashiers were provided a chair to sit while ringing up customers which should be a Industry standard.”
“New to the area and stopped in for a few things. We liked the wide aisles. Shelves were well stocked. Staff noticed a lot of people in the cash line, and called for assistance. Great customer service.”
“Had a slight infection and was looking for more all natural medication to help. I found everything I was looking for including natural ear drops, liquid zinc and elderberry, hydrogen peroxide and healthy snacks! The group of girls working were very knowledgeable and helpful. There is a smoothie bar made to order I will definitely be coming back to try! Organic spices and vegan jerky among many other things that caught my eye as-well.”
“Their deli, and bakery are amazing, the sushi selection is always fresh and it's very good, the fresh fish section where they cook meals of fish, and shrimp is very good too.”
“Way better stocked than michigan city, more cashiers working, but less friendly than most other places around. Fruit and veggies are hit or miss, as is the meat section. The rewards points and coupons don't seem to matter these days due to prices, but I definitely try to clip as many as humanly possible before shopping.”

“Wonderful, fresh produce and fruit. Went on Labor Day (had no choice, crowded but moved fast). Artisan breads, knob onions and large bulk red radishes that I’ve never seen elsewhere. I shop in Valpo, but will make it a point to shop here more. There’s room for a Jewels in Valpo by the Starbucks on Calumet. . Would be nice to open a store there. It would be busy for a lot of customers on the N side of town. Thanks??”
“I went to the dermatologist on Tuesday and he prescribed an ointment. I use good RX, so I had to research the location of the pharmacy with the lowest price. I dropped off my prescription the following day. The clerk told me it would be delayed an additional day because I was using good RX. I did not understand that. I felt as if I was being punished because I didn’t have Insurance to pay full price for a prescription. The following day, a text message was sent to my housemate and not to me that my prescription was ready. He did not inform me until after the pharmacy was closed last night. I inquired about that today after arriving to pick up my prescription and was told it must have been from a past prescription. Hmm…? The pharmacist said that there must’ve been a miscommunication when I was told there would be a delay because the only delay would be because they did not have the prescription in stock. It’s a common prescription for basal cell cancer. This is a topical application that has strict timeline attached to it. I had to schedule my return check up for exactly 2 weeks, and I will not have had that prescription product on my skin for two weeks when I arrive at that appointment. Oh well.
The pharmacist was extremely nice, helpful, efficient, and very informative about the proper use of this ointment.”

“I love this place. It's open 7 days a week from 8am -10pm. Mark is always working and always really friendly and helpful.They have a lot of stuff other places don't have, tons of drinks, snacks and frozen foods.They JUST remodeled this location and it is even better. They have a lot of unique food items that are great and it seems like they get more in everytime I go there.Tons of parking, easy to get to, close, huge variety of affordable items, clean establishment with a friendly and helpful staff. 5☆”
“This little store has lots of stuff. Cold drinks and snacks. Firewood, camping foods, canned goods and coffee. Sun hats, sun shirts, swimwear, boogie boards and touristy shirts. Postcards and good stickers! Also. great people work in here.”

“Jannsen’s is a staple of the community for several reasons. First and foremost, upon arriving in Beverly Shores, either by train or auto, it is what one sees immediately prior to entering the town. As such, people often stop by for some hiking, bird watching, beaching, soft serve (weather permitting), or other supplies of that nature.The Dunes Mart is always aptly stocked and staffed by genuinely nice, yet thoroughly professional, people and I cannot recall a single unpleasant experience while shopping here in well over a decade. Although it would appear Jannsen’s keeps one of nearly everything on their shelves, except for blue pens ?. Other than that this Mart is excellent.And last, but in all honesty the most significant, starting the day with a cup of Sandra C’s regular blend - and one of Henze’s Bakery’s finest - is quite hard to top. Whether you’re from the area, or just passing through, I’d suggest recharging at the Dunes Mart.”
“I've never been to this kind of store in my life but I wanted to give it a chance. Overall it's a great store! They had local people advertising local services when you first enter the store. It features a great variety of fresh and organic products at reasonable prices. Staff here was friendly and courteous. Bathrooms are really clean as well! Great parking too. Alcohol is a bit limited too. Overall, definitely reccomend this place.”
“Always clean , pumps in working order , best price on gas in northern Indiana. Left my wallet on counter as I collected my purchases and called next day to see if I left it and picked it up and manager never even opened it. Good to see honest people doing business.”

Was able to help with balloons and snacks at checkout. First time I've enjoyed a dollar general in years.Cashier was working until 4pm onNovember 7th. “As a former employee at this location I am in agreement with most others that it needs a remodel and the addition of better storage to keep unnecessary inventory off the sales floor but while I was employed there we made great strides toward staying ahead of things and creating a much better environment for our customers most of which I became very fond of”

“Went to the new salon in the Valparaiso Walmart for the Henna work they offer before we go on vacation. Me, my sister and my 8 year old got it done and it was a great experience. I had my 6 year old wild boy and my 10 month old baby boy. They Wer understanding and helpful. I totally recommend this service. My little girl wanted hers off asap! So within 2 hours or less she dry wiped hers off and it is still left on her hand. We are on day 4 and she’s gone in the bath everyday and the pool and it’s still goin strong on her and me and my sister!
