Although Ace isn't my favorite hardware store due to lack of overall items, it is the best for a quick in and out trip and you can always get friendly customer service. It still feels like a mom and pops shop. Many are locally owned and they carry Sherwin Williams Paint as a bonus.

This beat lowes on the average screws, nuts and bolts. Steph is pretty good too. Great for figuring things out.
