“Chris and Kristy's customer service is above and beyond 5-star platinum service. I'm new to the area and found myself without transportation home. And it was a little frightening because I don't know anybody here due to the fact I just moved here. Every cab and ride service were not available to provide a ride. . It was about to storm in and I was standing outside in the rain when Kristy was about to leave after closing the store. She offered me a ride to the nearest gas station. I honestly cannot even express how thankful I and appreciative I am for her kindness. She was my hero without a doubt. I was in tears and had no transportation out of there and no shelter from The Storm. She went above and beyond. I can't even imagine how the night would have went for me without Chris and Kristy's kindness. They were both very helpful from the start of my shopping visit. The store is one of the cleanest and well stocked that I have shopped at in a very long time. I found everything that I needed to purchase and with platinum customer service. Look forward to shopping here again. Thank you again Kristy and Chris!”
“We drive 9 miles further than we need to to shop at this store. We drive past 2 of your other stores to shop here. We shop almost every Friday night. We usually have a nice chat with Katie the assistant/shift manager and Duane in the meat department if he's working that shift. For being in a big town they really make it feel like the old small town experience and we love that.”

Moved to Adel in 2021 and this Fareway was alright, pretty basic. I know they were doing a remodel but didn't think much of it.
Got in my routine of going to Costco, then Aldi in waukee and just going to that Fareway since it's right there (hy-vee always a last resort - I have my reasons).
Today didn't need much today, not an excuse to drive all the way to West Des Moines so I was like I'll just swing in and I was impressed!
Nice variety of items, looks incredible and staff was super friendly and helpful! Definitely adding this place to my errands route now!”

Sometimes, I have my groceries carried to my car, and for this, I always tip a few dollars, nothing life changing. I was surprised to learn that tipping is quite rare. Bigfoot sightings seem more numerous.

“My child had recently been discharged from the hospital after being very sick, and it had been an overwhelming few days. I called the Hy-Vee pharmacy because several prescriptions were sent in and I was anxious about getting everything in a timely manner. I was helped by a pharmacy technician named Daniel, and from the start he was calm, patient, and reassuring.
Daniel took the time to make sure everything was being processed correctly and kept me updated, which honestly made a stressful situation feel manageable. When I arrived at the pharmacy, he recognized me right away and was just as kind and attentive in person.
The medications were ready much sooner than expected, and the entire pickup process was quick and smooth. More than anything, Daniel showed genuine care and empathy during a moment when it really mattered.

“This store is an amazing little hidden jem! I stalked up on spices that I had ran out on. They were even willing to ship me more if I run out on the road! Plus the I had the breakfast sandwich with ham and it was truly the best one I've ever had! We will be back for sure!”
