“Very nice community church. They are very supportive of the community and the schools. The church hosts several holiday events and is very active with supporting the school athletic activities. I it great to have a church really give back to the community they are in.”

“This is a parish is diverse with a variety of people from different cultural backgrounds. Sometimes at special masses a portion will be spoken in another language. First Friday Mass in the evening is my absolute favorite. After mass we each light a candle and sing Marian songs as we process behind a Fatima statue. It is very moving. The Daddy Daughter dance is a highlight for our family. I really enjoy the Latin Mass. It is beautiful inside and it is easy to focus on Jesus inside, very traditional and beautiful. We are not members but attend often. It is a great local parish.”

It’s open to everyone—not only Korean people and Korean Americans, but also friends, family, and anyone interested in Korean language and culture. They also offer free Korean classes and serve lunch every Sunday, which makes it a wonderful place to connect and learn.”

“We have gone to this church for about 3 years. Great community of people, strong and consistent leadership within the church, and a good foundation of faith based on the Bible. We liked that this church was in the same area of town that we live in on the southside. There are also many people from Carlisle who attend this church as well. Wonderful place to get to know people, make friends, and most importantly build your faith!”

“FREE COMMUNITY SUPPER ON TUESDAY NIGHTS AT GRACE METHODIST CHURCH Grace Methodist church, 3700 Cottage Grove avenue, hosts a free community supper on Tuesday evenings All are welcome. 5 pm to 7 pm. + There is also a free drop-in medical clinic at the church from 5 pm to 7 pm. And, if you linger, you can often listen to a rehearsal of the Des Moines Community Orchestra. That starts a round 6:30 pm. + Oh, and if you have a few extra minutes, check out the Henry Wallace/George Washington Carver historic marker at 38th street and Cottage Grove.”
