“I bought a car from a buddy a few days ago and began the hunt for a quality shop. Normally, it wouldn’t have been a thing, just go to the nearest place with the soonest available appointment and hope for the best. But this time was different, my friend had spent the last decade rubbing this car with a diaper and I was determined to find a mechanic who understood what I had and would help keep it nice for another twenty years. You’d be shocked how tall an order that can be. After visiting (in RL, not online) four shops, getting prices, talking to staff etc., I ended up walking out of all four. From, “I’ll tell you what kind of oil to put in that car.” to “Well, we’re booked up.” to “I can’t really give you a price right now.” to my personal favorite, “Oh, we quoted you the wrong price, it’ll actually be an additional $70.”, I had heard it all and given up. After pricing oil/filters and batteries at AutoZone, and making a list of tools needed to do it myself in disgust, my son suggested I give Christian Brothers in Grimes a call. It was as if the clouds parted and bathed this place in sunlight: “Yes, sir. We can do that today.”, “Absolutely, sir, I’d be happy to quote you a price.”, “Yes, sir, we’d be delighted to earn your business”, “No problem, sir, we’d be happy to give you a shuttle ride.” — and my personal fave, “Worry not, sir. We won’t leave a smudge or scratch on it!” They weren’t lying. They didn’t try to sell me unnecessary crap. They showed me in detail everything they would do, what it would cost, then texted me a full report w/pics and video to that effect. I met the tech working on my car, who, like everyone else there, was genuinely happy to help. Also, there wasn’t even a tiny smidge of oil anywhere on the white paint or tan/ecru interior, that stuff really matters! It shows caring and professionalism which inspires confidence, at least it does in me. Hayden & Tristen up front, Jordan working on my car, Kevin giving me a ride, the manager and two or three others whose names escape me right now — all star pros. We’ll be bringing all of our cars here from now on. The only thing wrong is that we didn’t find them years ago. Well done. Update 10/18/26: Our Acadia decided to break (again) at the worst time possible. I called Barry and he got me in that day, diagnosed only the exhaust coupling needing fixed (instead of adding a costly & unnecessary cat, muffler or exhaust pipe just because — trust me, it happens alot), and had us driving the next day. As I’ve come to expect from Christian Bros., the price quoted was what we paid, what we paid was fair, and the repair was perfect. Again, well done!”

I showed up half an hour early because my prior appointment was a lot shorter than I expected and I was filling willing to just wait until the appointment time but they ended up getting me out before my appointment time even came around. The gentleman behind the counter(I believe his name was Pete and he may have been the owner) was so kind and understanding about me being apprehensive after an awful last couple visits to my former oil change shop. They were kind, knowledgeable, fast, and obvious took pride in their work. I will be coming back.”

They checked the entire vehicle mechanicals and could not find any issues. It may have come from my mower but I wanted peace of mind. Took advantage of the free shuttle service. I am planning to use them again for service. Waiting area is clean and comfortable.”

Had it diagnosed and repaired within 48hrs, which is impressive given they’re a small operation. Joe was patient and answered my questions regarding the diagnosis and needed repairs. He was upfront and honest, I never felt like he was trying to sell me anything unnecessary. I asked them to inspect the transmission fluid while they had the car. He said while it was showing some signs of age and could be changed now, realistically it had another 10K miles before it became a priority. Saved me from spending an additional $400. My car is coming here from now on!”

“I went in for an oil change. I've never used Jiffy Lube before today. The guy who greeted me was friendly. He started the work on my truck after I pulled it into the bay myself. But then he disappeared. I went into the lobby. Which was cold and kind of messy. I saw several employees just standing around. I wasn't there for long . But I do feel like it wasnt very professional. Especially after the girl asked if I wanted to pay my bill. I asked her if they were done and she said yes. I said to her I didnt see anyone put the oil in my truck. The next thing I know is the girl who took my payment is out there putting what I assumed was oil in my truck. Not one of the guys who are dressed for this type of work were there to do it. Just standing around watching as the girl is doing their job. There are atleast 6 guys working there today. I dont think I will go back.”

“Major shout out to Andrew, Adam and Edward for the professional and passionate service I received this afternoon! I’m scheduled to drive to Iowa City tomorrow and stopped by with my daughter to ask for an oil change, fluid and tire check and these guys went totally above and beyond my expectations for Jiffy Lube! I’ve visited this location in the past and received good/quick service and thought I’d give these guys another try. I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful reception I received from this group and the thorough assessment and job they performed. I was provided with some cautionary items to take a look at and given several options to consider with no pressure what-so-ever. The pricing options I was given were very fair. In addition, Andrew spent some time to review an issue with the coolant system/level(s) and an active leak. He pointed out several items and parts related and things to watch for during our discussion, he also provided valuable information like a “to do” list of sorts for the coming days and additional recommendations moving forward. I thank him for his precious time in having an insightful conversation. During these challenging times, we should feel blessed to have some very professional, genuine and caring individuals among us here in the Des Moines area. You should be proud of this group.
