“The mercantile store for the Amish community in the Kalona IA area. Not very big, but it has a ton of items for the kitchen, making clothing, and some darned amazing local baked goods thrown in there for good measure. A simple section for toys for the young ones is available. I'd swear the nice shopkeeper lady was there in visits from my family decades before. With the Stringtown grocery nearby, it's all these hard working, pious families need. We all can learn a thing or two about life from shopping in this area. Excess is not always what makes you content and happy in life...”

“I love this place. Good variety of different foods-hot grab and go, steaks and other meats, veggies and fruit, pre-made pizzas for home cooking, all kinds of snacks and drinks-they have so much stuff. Reasonable prices, some sales and deals too.
The staff here are all very kind and genuinely nice folks, despite being busy or working on several things at once.
There is always someone at the checkout to keep the line moving.

“A classic local convenience store. Open 24/7, patronage includes mostly working class people in their 20s-30s with no kids. Cashiers usually like to make small talk. They card, but they're usually pretty relaxed & don't grill anyone.”

“We had the best experience tonight. Steve was a wonderful man. We walked in looking for cigars and he was not only extremely knowledgeable but super helpful without being pushy or intrusive. He answered all of our newbie questions, took time to explain their system and the different kinds and types or cigars, sharing his huge amount of knowledge for being a non smoker. Once he gave us all the information he could he left us to browse. Extremely helpful, super kind, very funny as well, had us laughing not even 2 minutes into our visit. A very pleasant person to be around. Their selection and organization was awesome, we felt comfortable and like we belong, very welcomed. We will 100% be going back and hopefully Steve will be there when we do. Give this man a raise or a bonus or something. It's not often you find a genuine soul like him.”
“I was really liking these wine coolers from Seagram's called Jamaican Me Happy and they usually only had four or five four packs at a time each week alls I did was talk to the awesome manager Barb and she made sure that they were more coming through the door the next order and I bought a case and I thought that was very wonderful for her to add that extra to accommodate me. “Another great Iowa City Kum & Go store. Plenty of parking. Nicely stocked clean store. Friendly service. Use the app to get gas and use points to save money. Most of the other K&G stores are newly built or recently remodeled. Good selection of food, drinks, and other items.”

“Solid corner gas station. Decent bathrooms and food/ drink options. The one complaint I have is that their tire air pump hasn’t worked since the last time I was here over the summer. It will not check your air pressure or fill your tire”
“Under new management with a new layout inside. Has a air and vacuum machine .50$ a cycle. During this time of year a local farmers sells vegetables and fruits from a stand in the parking lot. They have an ATM and accept EBT also.”

“A MUCH better experience at this Casey's location than the last one I reviewed. Pay at the pump was easy and quick, no trash laying around. Had to run inside to get my receipt - even though the guy at counter seemed busy, he was quick and friendly. He seemed accommodating to his co-worker's need for reassurance about something as well. Only thing that made it lose a star is that this location doesn't participate in the Upside app (cashback for gas station/restaurant purchases), like many other locations do.”
