“Good store. Prices don't quite compete with walmart, but are low enough to not drive somewhere else. The meat quality is superb, and the main reason to go there.”
“A not so hidden gem in Ames Iowa.
Their variety is impressive.
Definitely worth the trip.
Excellent soups, salads, and a nice bakery along with a very nice Gracey selection”
“A a super guy on 7/30 @ 6pm aprx came to the rescue of myself and my daughter. She spilled her drink and he came and cleaned it up and made us not feel so bad. Great store all in all. I love the small town vibes u get at this fareway. I also go there especially for the produce and meat. Always have. Thank you!”
“Love the setup of this fairway! Nice wide isles. All the shelves stocked & very neat & orderly. Produce is amazing! Just a pleasure to shop in this fareway!”
“Excellent grocery store and a mini restaurant (fresh food items) - family owned and they provide great customer care for everyone - Halal food, PK, IN, Middle Eastern grocery items available (fresh and frozen) - They also offer fresh vegetables on alternative weeks (Okra, Gourds, Eddo roots, Eggplants, Beans etc.) - A must weekly stop for my household and should be yours too … الحمد لله ?”

“With grocery prices through the roof elsewhere, aldis still has quality products at pre-pandemic prices. Personally i love that there is less options so i don't have to think too hard about which to grab. Only complaint is that they have automated ordering so when the students leave the fruit and veg sits for a few weeks with replenishment and when the students return things are gone for a while.”
“This place is smaller than some that I've been to but they had EVERYTHING you could want! They had green tea Kit Kats which are hard to find. I was so exited for find kimchi, endless types of dumplings and ramen, plus everything I needed to make pho from scratch! So excited I found this place and get creative with dinners.”
“Great selection of everything you need for a grill out! Scott in particular was great; he made an amazing brisket sandwich for us and was so sweet. Definitely coming back, especially for the chicken wings he recommended.”

“I’ve shopped at the other asian groceries stores in town and the rest really don’t compare. Uni-Mart is always well-stocked, organized, and fairly priced. I always found what I was looking for.”
“Nice supermarket, organized, fair prices. But there is only one egg brand, which is Hy-Vee, and it is quite expensive. All the male employees greet you cheerfully and say good morning with a smile. However, all the female employees seem to be angry.”
“This place is great. Tons of inventory. Lots of options and breadth of product. Great boba selection and more rare ingredients. Other Asian food stores in town don't really compare”
“They should keep more Halal items, such as beef, chicken, and lamb meat, processed food, and relevant Asian and Mediterranean food, so that 11th-grade students will benefit from getting their preferred groceries and stocks.”

“Mrs Ann was great help , i am an old Marine and i have broken both arms and wrists several times , and i can not turn a cap to open a soda or tea , Mrs Ann was so helpfull at opening my tea for me , that is great customer service and she deserves a raise or at least a lunch meal for going above and helping an injured Marine veteran with disabilities”
“I love coming to this location, it's convenient on my way to work and great for my seasonal decor shopping. Manager? Rod is the best. He is always happy and helpful. I come here because I know I will always have a good interaction.”

“I am writing about the Asian store opposite or next to hyvee here. They have a good amount of basics rice noodles, rice, indian lentils, mochi, rice paper, meat, sauce, veggies, fish cakes, nori sheets. The place is run by a Korean. The store smells of paint or varnish because there’s painting going on and renovation taking place. Shop keepers seem friendly. It’s growing and they stock up new things every so often with Asian kitchen items such as portable stove, ladles, teapots.”
“My wife and I have been shopping here for more than 40 years, so I thought it was high time to review this store, especially since their reaction to the pandemic has been so exceptional. I was always a big fan of the store before but now I really would not consider shopping anywhere else. Since the pandemic (and possibly before; I never thought to inquire before) HyVee has been offering free pickup of groceries ordered online. You order and pay for them on aislesonline, a shopper does your shopping for you, and then you drive up and they put the groceries in your trunk. Let me repeat that there is NO CHARGE for this service, provided your order exceeds 30 dollars. I was a little reluctant to do this at first because I actually like wandering the aisles, making sure I get the item of my choice, the best date, etc., but when Covid cases began spiking here in Iowa we started using this service for safety reasons and now I am completely sold on it. There have been almost no glitches or mistakes in months of ordering, and on those very rare occasions that there has been, they have been promptly and courteously corrected. On one occasion, when an item I ordered didn't make it into the bag, they delivered it to my home. Their computer system allows you to select an alternate item from a fairly extensive list of choices in case they are sold out of something, and they even follow a policy of not charging you more for the alternate than the original item cost. Just today, for example, they were out of the small banana bread that I ordered, and gave us the large size that I had selected as a substitute for the same price, which I think goes above and beyond the call of duty. Back when my parents were still alive, they came to visit me from New York and I still remember my father's astonished reaction to this store-- the wide, well-lit aisles, the employees who smiled at us when we passed them (and frequently greeted me by name), etc. He kept saying that there was nothing like in this in New York City, and of course he was right. The staff here is about as friendly and accommodating as you can possibly ask for. When I have had purchase requests I have always gotten a quick reply-- sometimes they can't order the item I requested, but they always let you know why. Bottom line: if you don't already shop here, you should definitely consider doing so. This is one of my favorite stores in Ames.”
“It's a fine Hy Vee. The Wine and Spirits clerks are particularly fun employees to chop it up with. Any time I need help, the folks there are always on the ball. One time some random asshole college student came up to me and tried to recruit me to join his Amway team, but that's mostly just a funny anecdote and has nothing to do with the store. I hope his pyramid scheme fails and he gets punched at an Insane Clown Posse concert.”
“I've been very happy with my experiences here! I have had some difficult orders, complications from doctors, or a whole host of other complex problems with getting my medication to the pharmacy, and the pharmacists have been so extremely helpful in making sure I actually receive my meds when I need them. I have used other pharmacies in the past, and I've really enjoyed this one!”
“Ok y’all your local Fareway is the place to shop! Everyone is nice and helpful, they remember your name and ask you how is life you going?! Did you get that feral cat out off of your street? Has junior had his braces adjusted? I mean come on man, I’m like really, you remember all of that?! And then they’re like, “oh hey we got a fresh shipment in (of whatever you were looking for), did you want to check it out? Uhhhh yes you please. Oh and did I mention the meat counter?! Oh man! It’s local meat and these guys can help you with baking tips, grilling tips etc, and even sell you some spices that you don’t know how to pronounce, but oh boy they are DELICIOUS! So I would encourage you to check out your local Fareway grocery store! You my friend will not be disappointed!”
