They are stocked with thoughtfully chosen products priced reasonably. The great staff are friendly and professional, and they listen (even when I sometimes talk at length about my furry companions). “Petco has everything imaginable for your little friends. They have food, substrate, housing, etc.
They are always helpful, and try to get you the right thing. In the future I will always make the trek to go to this store compared to any other pet stores, even if you live in south east Iowa City it is worth the drive”
“Stopped in to visit with Angel from Unleashed who does cat adoptions at the store. Ended up leaving with three bettas after realizing some of them had been in those tiny plastic containers for months. One on display was even deceased. The pet trade is a horrible trade, but if it must continue the animals need to be taken care of accordingly. The staff did give me a discount on the longtime resident fish, which corporate should do markdowns on the fish that aren’t moving to begin with. Some staff seemed to do nothing, nor care but others were great. Clean store, great selection of products.”
“We have been to Iowa City Pet Land the first dog we got was a Pomsky and the second dog we just got is a German shepherd And names are Hochkie baby dancer and the German shepherd name is Matalynn Kaine Barhite and both are very beautiful dogs and they are both making them self’s at and thank you to all the pet land workers,we love you all .”

“I’m not local but I did stop by while passing through. This shop may not have a lot but what they do have is the basics. They have very cool toys and products. Definitely worth stopping by. The staff are so welcoming and polite.”
