“I came here for the 1st time to grab a few things. The place is HUGE! It's clean. You can get through the aisles easily. Staff was very kind. The lady who rang up my items, was so sweet. I will definitely be going back!”

Many locations around Des Moines to choose from. Some are better kept than others, but always a good selection.”
“This is the first time I've ever been at this location, I have been multiple locations between Chariton and Corydon and then today was in one in South Des Moines off of army and that was a disaster. This store was clean and stocked something I have never seen in any of the Dollar generals I've been to in Iowa and the lady working named Jody, was nice and personable and helpful and friendly. She was apologizing for the fact that due to the extreme cold weather that it was cold in the store. I have never had such a good experience in a Dollar general”
“This location is clean and organized. It's smaller and therefore the selection is, too. They have bread and donuts. Staff is helpful.

“They have little things that you need. I like that. The staff will follow you around. I'm not too bothered by it but it is a little funny. The store is clean. They don't have the most space but they make it work and are very organized.
Woman at the counter called a dude to help me and then helped the person behind me. I found that weird but I still got helped and that's what matters. I actually come here for the knock off shamwow! It's $2 and I cut them up and use them for some many things that it makes anything weird tolerable. I've tried other versions but this one is The Truth. I'll be here getting them for all my projects, if they follow me around or not.

“I would have given a 5 but the one Hubbell down from Guthrie has a very rude cashier I was getting a gift card and I handed her my old license instead of new one. So it wouldn't go thru i.ask her.if she would run it thru again with the right license that wasn't expired she wouldn't do it. We argued and she says we'll you.dont have to come back..FINE I WONT YOUR RUDE AS HELL.. And I haven't been back to that one since”
“Have a lot of things that you need for household items along with grocery items. It's one of my go to places for things that I need that have a lot of things in the store for the most part. They are organized and well stocked. The bathrooms are clean and they have friendly cashiers”
“This place is so convenient for me because it is so close to home. I can find my basic necessities in the store and only have to walk a few city blocks and I'm there. And usually anything I need well in the cooking area is going to be there. Now I said usually. Just convenient!!”
“I love Dollar General 1803 West 2nd avenue in indianola iowa. The staff are so amazing. I was there last week and saw that things were going to he changing. We walked into Dollar General on 2ndAvenue, and we wete so wonderful surprised.. they remodel the whole place. It looks so amazing. “they are always helpful & knowledgeable. they work hard at keeping it tidied and stocked with a good selection of products. and most importantly, they are genuinely "happy" to be there and it shows.UPDATE 03/13/21: to the young woman working (I will get your name & add it), who helped me with a cord to charge my phone, you went above & beyond! I am so grateful that because of you, I was able to retrieve important pics and other personal data from my phone before having to send in to insurance for reimbursement. I am touched by the kindness you've shown. The world needs more people like you in it!”
“The gentleman at the register was quick and friendly. The store is typically clean and orderly. I always purchase my cards from Dollar Tree. They usually have only a few options for specific events or family members cards but I typically find something that works. I also buy my plastic food containers here too. They’re inexpensive and I can throw them away without any guilt. I never use them in the microwave though. They also have inexpensive gift bags and other gift supplies. During the holidays they have a pretty good selection.”
