Faraway Stores are a breath of fresh air. While other grocery stores, used Covid to drop their customer service levels, Fareway never followed suit.

Every time I shop there, I'm impressed by the friendly, plentiful staff who are always available to assist, whether it's answering questions or helping to find an item. A standout feature is their commitment to carry-out service, something you don't see often nowadays. They ensure that you're taken care of from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave.
Fareway still staffs real people at their checkout lines, offering a personal touch that's increasingly rare. You never feel rushed, and there’s always a friendly face greeting you.
Fareway's meat department is also top-notch. Overall Fareway delivers a shopping experience that’s not just convenient but genuinely pleasant. Definitely the only store I shop at for my grocery needs.”

“I've been going to this Aldi for years now and I can tell you without a doubt this place treats you like family. I didn't know a grocery store could make you feel welcome. However the cashier ( Cheryl) and the manager have went out of their way several times to give me a quarter because I never remember to bring one. The other day I visited and broke all of my groceries outside my vehicle trying to load them intoy can, and I refused to let them clean it up and when I came back in from picking it up they replaced the two items that were broken for free. I know that they don't understand what a big deal this was but to me it really was. I love coming to the same store over and over again simply because I know that I will always be treated like family”

Has junior had his braces adjusted? I mean come on man, I’m like really, you remember all of that?! And then they’re like, “oh hey we got a fresh shipment in (of whatever you were looking for), did you want to check it out? Uhhhh yes you please. Oh and did I mention the meat counter?! Oh man! It’s local meat and these guys can help you with baking tips, grilling tips etc, and even sell you some spices that you don’t know how to pronounce, but oh boy they are DELICIOUS! So I would encourage you to check out your local Fareway grocery store! You my friend will not be disappointed!”

“I really love the Balkan and Eastern European offerings here! The owners are extremely kind and welcoming! They're always ready and able to direct me to whatever grocery item I'm in search of. I grew up with Bosnian friends so I will typically come here to find something I miss eating at their house! The store is small but I feel like they offer a wide variety of things. Very, clean, immaculate store! I am so glad we have this in Des Moines.”

The baggers at the checkout NEED TRAINING.... .... .... this has happened numerous times..... as a senior citizen, I have requested that the bags be light weight. . . . . We bring our own clothing bags. . . . The bags are being filled to heavy. Insulated bags are not being used for the frozen/cold items. Thank you for listening.”
“Honestly I just really love this place it has most of my favorite things and if you go to one of the aisles for the ice sparkling water it's only $0.98 and a lot of their stuff is 98 cents I get some people think that is a lot of prices but it's not to me also I love going there to get my Wax Candy because they're only a dollar for the wax candy so I get to get about four bags of them they have donuts and cookies anything you could want or need Cash Saver has it I'm only 10 years old but I do go there a lot with my mom and I love it so does my mom we go there all the time every Sunday so yeah to the people that are saying and giving two stars and three stars and one star here's a reason that you shouldn't do that thank you Cash Saver so much”
“We chose to check out in a lane that had a first day cashier. The girl bagging the groceries was very helpful to him and us. He accidentally double charged us and the girl took it upon herself to get the approval from management to get it deducted and get us going to keep the line moving!!! Very impressed!! Thank you to the two working isle 5 today!! You are what Hy-Vee is supposed to be!!!”

“The food has been superb every time I've visited, but was thoroughly disappointed to find out today that the bathrooms do not have changing tables. This is a major inconvenience for parents of small children, and unfortunately, it means my family will likely not eat in the cafe for the foreseeable future.”

“The bakery at the NE Gateway Drive in Grimes made my 3 year old grandson an AMAZING birthday cake. We wanted the Paw Patrol theme and she adapted it to a round shaped cake. She was was very creative in designing it. Very happy with the cake and highly recommend visiting their bakery.”
