“Best movie theater on the planet! The D-Box seats are amazing they move to the movie and vibrate they're heated and they recline. Order ahead and you walk in show your tickets and your food at the concession stand is already ready to go no waiting in line you get a discount if you join the movie rewards program it's 1099 a month you get one free movie This is a no-brainer guys you can pay an additional $2.50 a month and get a upgrade to an XD or 3D movie. I used to go to AMC not anymore. I've been going to Cinemark for the last year and a half I will never go anywhere else. Unless it's the drive-in!”

“A good time! My expectations were low but they were exceeded on all counts. Fun games (styles such as Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, and the Price is Right), easy going atmosphere, and a charming MC, Paul, who made everyone feel comfortable. They sell some adult beverages (though we did not have any). Highly recommended.”

“My wife and I recently had our wedding reception at The Monarch Room, and from the moment we first toured the space, we knew we had found our perfect venue.

The Monarch Room is about as centrally located in Kansas City as you can get. Situated on a beautiful corner lot facing north-northwest, the space offers stunning views of the Kansas City skyline through its massive floor-to-ceiling windows. The exposed brick and tall ceilings create a unique atmosphere, both spacious and intimate at the same time.

One of the standout features is the bar. It’s perfectly positioned in the corner. Easy to access without ever feeling intrusive to the flow of the event. The backlit front is customizable, which added a personal touch we absolutely loved (easily one of our favorite amenities).

Another huge plus: the number of restroom stalls. It may sound minor, but anyone who’s been to a crowded event knows how big of a difference that makes.

The catering setup is also extremely well thought out. With access along the side and back of the venue, our outside catering team was able to move in and out seamlessly without ever interrupting the event.

If you’re looking for a venue that truly checks all the boxes, you’d be remiss not to consider The Monarch Room.”

“This is a beautiful theater right in the middle of downtown Kansas City. I’ve been seeing shows here since I was a kid. It has just the right amount of seating, the sound is always on point, and staff is super friendly. Not a bad seat in the house. I like to hang out upstairs by the Chandelier bar. Nearby T-Mobile Center is just too big.”

“After attending other events at Cézanne, my husband and I elected to host our wedding and reception at the venue when we married in November 2025. The versatility of the venue shone through with exposed brick, polished hardwoods, and high ceilings making the space feel open, spacious, and inviting, but with a little history – not just your average venue. The gorgeous Jim Sajovic art installation in place at the time was absolutely perfect for the background of our wedding and kept us from having to overengineer any décor. The footprint comfortably accommodated our group of approximately 125 people, while the Cézanne team kindly and warmly accommodated us and our guests. They handled several logistical details on our behalf to reduce our mental (over)load. They were accommodating in every possible way, kind and encouraging, and above all, the perfect people to have in charge of our big day. They organized the flip of the room post-ceremony/pre-reception in a way that was seamless, efficient, and unnoticeable. Private parking and ease of access via the streetcar made it seamless for our guests to get to and from the venue from their hotels and homes. Planning our event with Cézanne’s team was seamless and easy. They communicated clearly and frequently, often emailing or calling with suggestions or to share recommendations – whether for other vendors or other ideas – based on conversations we’d had with them. For example, I know not everyone loves dancing, so I’d put together a series of games and puzzles in our wedding colors, and they helped us create a quaint and cozy game nook. We decided to do “his” and “hers” favorite candies and needed somewhere to set up that display, along with our take-home gift of custom jar candles and matches for our guests. The team was quick to find appropriate shelving and display materials. When I wanted to surprise the groom with a song sung by his band, Cézanne helped me deliver that surprise by allowing the band to arrive early and soundcheck and having everything ready with the sound system. The team consistently steered us in the right direction and helped us to elevate every last touch – and even save some money! Cézanne’s partner business, Sidecar Cocktail Catering, did an exceptional job with our premium drink package, offering something for everyone (including our NA folks), and a beautifully curated menu of our favorite cocktails. We can’t recommend them enough! From the private bridal suite to solid audio equipment to a great photobooth, Cézanne has everything needed for a perfect event all in one location. Our attendees raved about the location and venue, with my mom commenting that Cézanne was the most “us” venue she could think of. Our event was perfect in every day, and we truly owe a huge debt of gratitude to Nico and Joy as the owner and coordinator, respectively, and to the bartenders and back of house staff who worked tirelessly to ensure our event was seamless and perfect – and it really was! We will forever treasure our memories of our special day and will keep coming back for other events. The space itself is one of the most visually impressive indoor venues in Kansas City. With its towering ceilings, marble columns, brass lantern lighting, and art deco details, it creates a timeless atmosphere that works beautifully for both elegant ceremonies and high-energy receptions. The design is strong enough that couples don’t need heavy décor—the venue already does a lot of the visual work on its own.

One of the biggest strengths of The Grand Hall is its capacity and flexibility. It can host everything from mid-size weddings to large celebrations with ease, while still maintaining a layout that feels intentional rather than oversized. The mezzanine level adds another dimension for cocktail hour, lounge seating, or guest flow, which helps keep the night moving smoothly.

From a DJ and production standpoint, the space performs extremely well. “The yellow door has the best party space I could ask for.It has an amazing indoor area for food and photo shoots, along with the best outdoor space for whatever your party needs. We had access to cold drinks everywhere and a caricature artist that was so fun. I can’t recommend this place enough!”

“My husband and I love recordBar. Every show we've seen there has been a great time. The venue itself is very clean and well maintained. The stage is excellent - high enough off the ground to be seen across the venue, but low enough to still feel intimate with the bands.

There is a combination of paid and free parking near the venue. It is literally half a block from the T-Mobile Center, but it feels like its own little world.

I can't speak for the men's restroom, but the women's restroom was clean and had full length stall doors, which is always a plus.

The drinks are reasonably priced. The other night when we were there, my husband got a Busch Light and I got an Angry Orchard for $12 plus tip. (Always tip your bartender!) They had a fully stocked bar, and we saw a sign for $3 mystery shots. We chose not to get that crazy though. They also have a kitchen, though we haven't eaten there.

My husband's band actually got the opportunity to play there recently, and everyone was very kind and friendly. The sound guy was amazing and knowledgeable and the show sounded excellent!

Highly recommend stopping in recordBar for a show if you're looking for a great time at a smaller venue that isn't quite a dive.”

Was fun to walk through the hall of fame section and read the write ups on all the players and coaches while the kid ran around and did the shooting and passing challenges. “The food here was amazing, and the owners are really great at providing Instagram worthy experiences. We went to the reservation only tea and it was so well thought out. They have a great menu, cute little timer hourglass, scrumptious little tasting bites (the chicken salad tea sandwich... TRUST ME). My family really loved it. I guess my only complaint was when other guests would arrive late or bring extra guests, the place would try hard to accomodate, causing those of us who kept to our reservation time and numbers to wait. I wish clientele would be more considerate of others and not force the restaurant to make those decisions or risk bad reviews. 5 stars for the food service and ambiance. 3 stars for other inconsiderate guests.”

“Good space, but the floors were sticky and there was a sewer smell in the bathroom. For concerts it's really hard for shorter people to see unless your in the very front. There is no slope flooring or anything to elevate those in the back for viewing the stage.”

“I've been going to the uptown since the 90s. It's always been a bit grungy, but the staff is always top tier. The stage seems pretty small, so when they have a band like the flaming lips or even Bright Eyes it can look pretty cramped. I've never noticed the stage impact a performance though. The seats are nice and comfy and the free parking is one of the best deals in this city.”
