“I have never written a review of a store like this before. But my recent stop in this store was above and beyond. I have never encountered such friendly and helpful staff, from the gentleman who was stocking and greeted me as I came in to the younger gentleman who was working the register. Both offered assistance and the first man, who seemed to be a manager, directed me to a seasonal display I might be interested in. He joked with me while also working very hard. The young man was extremely professional and seemed to really enjoy his job. All employees appeared to have a great rapport and working relationship. There was also signage on the door with the GM’s contact info in case anything needed to be called to his attention. Apparently great improvements are being made to this store! I’m grateful and will now return more often!! Great job. Thank you!!”
“Ollie's is alot like Big Lots, full of all kinds of stuff. With bargains on several items and in many cases better than fair prices. This store sits across the street from the mall at 95th and Quivira. There's a Dollar Tree and a Chinese Buffet, and several other businesses in this shopping center. Be sure and join Ollie's rewards program, the cashier will sign you up and give you a card like they did me. I was very pleased with this store. I recommend checking out their coffee sale.!!.”

“Previously, I did not see the purpose. Now I'm fond of the store. I think when the price got to $5.55. The inventory improved. They have a better selection of items like cool t-shirts that go up to xL, home decor like unique rugs, dog supplies, headphones for ps5, and small exercise equipment. However, don't increase prices anymore because then the store can't be called 5 below.”
“They had what I needed two days in a row...coming from major stores that were out of heavy cream one day and bleu cheese the next day...Save A Lot had them both!!!”

“It's a great place for art supplies, candy, gifts, and electronic gizmos. The place can be a mess, but it's not necessarily their fault. As a lot of retail stores seem to have children come in all ages, and just throw things everywhere.”

“When I came in here, it looked like a small revolution/riot had happened. Granted, it was Christmas Eve, so I get it. However, I'm scared to go back. The place made Wal-Mart seem like a Tesla Showroom.
Aside from the horribly scattered and unorganized items from the window to the wall, I got what I needed--cheap stuff for 5 bucks apiece.
As far as the employees, I think the only two people working were the 2 people at the cash registers...and I used self-checkout, so... I'm going to optimistically assume they were fine and kind people... ?
I don't think this a bad place, just don't come in here expecting a beautifully laid out and organized shopping experience, and you'll be good to go! ⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“Not a wide range of selection but to be expected. Produce quality has improved. Clean, organized, friendly employees, and quick check-out. Majority of items are same price as big box stores or, surprisingly, more expensive. They do have some off brand items where you do "save a lot" compared to other stores.”

“We met Lewis for the first time tonight, and we were honestly blown away by how much he was juggling — and how well he handled it all.
He was cleaning, stocking shelves, helping customers at checkout, and somehow still noticed that our hands were full and brought us a basket without us even asking. That small act meant a lot. Somehow between managing the tasks should have taken a whole team- he stopped to help us find 2 things and even just chat for a quick second. You could just tell he genuinely cared about doing right by every customer in the store.
We were surprised to find he was also the cashier after everything else we watched him do. While he was checking us out we all witnessed someone stealing — and Lewis didn’t let that rattle him or affect how he treated anyone. You could see it wasn’t the first time he’d dealt with that, and it was clear he was doing his best with a tough situation. What I really took note of, was how it really bothered him that his store was being stolen from- and he was unable to do anything to help ?
His customer service was incredible. He stayed calm, kind, and helpful through it all. Lewis, if you see this — we appreciate you. You made a big impression on our little shopping trip. We really hope this finds because we see how hard your working and that didn't stop you from making sure your customers were taken care of.

“Friendliest greeting I got all day from the shops on Independence Avenue that day. The thrift store is a little small. However, it was extremely organized and everything was in it's place. I will go again for sure. Thanks for the warm welcome!”
“Nice clean store, with great employees. Only complaint would be that you never know if it will be open or closed. Went here on Sunday at 2:00 pm and it was closed. Had to go to another location at 45th and Metropolitan, and that was a bad experience. Employees with bad attitudes there.”
“My got to spot for reasonable priced necessities. The employees are great, Especially Lisa and Jess, I also miss Mo wherever she went. I've been frequenting this location for 20 years and yes it's had it's ups and downs but the current employees are great. They actually get stock put away before it sells. Good job ladies and shout out to the Brother at the register with the skull cap, idk his name but he is very professional no matter how you approach him. I definitely hope things stay the way they are RIGHT NOW

Toys location has been redone, it's much more organized and mostly cleaner. They do still have issues keeping the shelves stocked though.
This location has steadily gone downhill. It's really dirty and the shelves are pretty empty, but I still love the Dollar Tree for the right things.”
