“I am not, in general, someone who writes reviews so this one is WAY late but Shawnee Mission absolutely went out of their way to earn this review.
My daughter was in a car accident this spring and totaled her Bronco Sport. She was devastated. Through all of the headaches, deadlines, stress and unexpected costs of dealing with an insurance claim, Shawnee Mission couldn’t have made things easier.
My wife found replacements in Minnesota, where we live, but these Bronco’s were mostly a model year newer than the one we had but we found out that our daughter LOVED her car and wanted that one back even though it was older. This is where Shawnee Mission first surprised me. I found a picture of the exact Bronco she wanted (except this one had a graphics package on it) on their website so I called. I was told there was a mistake in the posting and the Bronco I was looking at was really a model year newer. Bummer. The next day I get a call and was told they were reviewing phone calls and sales leads and the Bronco I was looking at was in fact the model year we wanted. Great News. (Great business processes)
The insurance company and the replacement car search was wearing us down as we needed a replacement and there were lots of Broncos similarly priced in MN. My wife wanted to buy local to get the searching over. I let my daughter choose. She wanted the Bronco in KS. My wife was not thrilled and I let Shawnee know the situation. Shawnee Mission adjusted their pricing for us again for us to make cost a non issue but she was still not thrilled. The insurance saga continued and Shawnee Mission waited patiently and never pushed despite me calling nearly everyday with new excuse or insurance story.
The next issue was the graphics package, it was not our favorite and Shawnee offered to remove them without me asking for no cost. I actually told them I could do it but they said they would and take responsibility for any issues and do it themselves and without a purchase agreement of any kind.
After a few more weeks of working with our insurance company the distance issue came up…again. Again Shawnee stepped up and offered to ship the car to our house, this was still all before any purchase agreement was signed. They even went out and got quotes for me so I would know the cost.
Once we got the settlement the wife wanted the car yesterday so I called Shawnee and said let’s scrap the shipping and I would fly down early in the AM (next day) and fill out the paperwork and drive home. (7 hour drive for those still reading)
Up to this point Shawnee was awesome and dealing with me probably wasn’t fun as I was stressed and under the gun yet they never blinked. However, their last actions blew me away.
1) They had one of their employees pick us up at the airport rather than me getting a ride share.
2) Because I gave them a 1 day notice that I would buy the car and fly down, I wondered if the graphics package had been removed, it had been.
3) I have never received a car so immaculately clean. It was spotless and top to bottom detailed. i.e. waxed and armor-all’s inside.
4) LASTLY, because this was probably a month long saga and they knew our whole story, the Owner paid for my daughter to fly down with me to see her new car and drive it back with me. Incredible. It made her day and a forever memory she will have of us picking up the car together.
Thank you to the entire team, sales, financing, internet marketing, everyone. What a great experience.

Gilbert hooked me up with a new alternator and then a jump pack the next few times. I went there four times in the last 24 hours and wish I lived here to go back every time.
