“I happened upon Murphy Express when I needed gas and was out that way. I don’t normally drive that stretch of K-7 but I stopped after my daughter’s gymnastics practice. After filling up, my car wouldn’t start. The man at the front desk (I wish I had gotten his name) was super kind when I told him my car might be sitting there a bit. He came out and looked at the car with me while we troubleshot. He was really nice to my daughter and checked on us frequently — offering to stop any of his regulars if they came in to take a look. We figured it was the battery but I only had my portable jumper, which wasn’t doing it. A customer came by, saw we couldn’t get it jumped, went home and got his car (he was on a motorcycle) and tried to jump us. The friendliness of this station extended not only to the attendant but the customers too. After about an hour and a half, my car randomly started, but I’ll be forever grateful for the people who went out of their way to make our rough night feel much better!”

The Iowa retailer, the third-largest convenience store operator in the country, built its new three-year plan around three priorities: store growth, food and beverage expansion, and kitchen technology upgrades.
