“Hotel physically left a bit to be desired. Room was a bit worn down, torn shades, a shower that was very temperamental, and some obvious water stains around the windows of past leaks.
Staff was phenomenal. Courteous, helpful, and immediately willing to help. Patricia at breakfast was especially fantastic and friendly.
Would stay here again, but may also try somewhere else.”

“I had to get knee surgery and needed a place to stay for the first two weeks of recovery so I wouldn’t be subjected to my home’s stairs. The Candlewood Suited was the right call. The 2 queen suite was perfect for me and my caregiver and also for when I was alone. I could navigate it easily with my wheelchair and crutches, and I was able to store food for two weeks. Staff were also incredibly accommodating and helpful. I highly recommend.”

“Really high prices on their wine $12 and beer $7. Which are single drinks. But overall very clean and comfortable. Keoshi (front desk) is very sweet and other staff was helpful and cheerful. We'll be back next month, but with our own alcohol 🙃”
“kansas is kansas but this was a great option for just passing through. it’s probably not what i’d pick if i was staying in topeka for a week or more, but a night or two is great. Everything is clean, staff is nice and friendly, and the breakfast is on par/above average compared to other continental breakfasts i’ve tried. I would definitely stay here again, though i’m not sure i’d ever find myself in topeka again lol
some notable cons:
- pillows are a little flat for my liking, if you’re sharing a bed with a partner, i’d ask for another 1-2 pillows
- the water is “soft” which is great for many reasons (soft water is better for your skin and hair), but holy cow it took like 10+ minutes just to RINSE the shampoo out of my hair.”

“While on the road we could have chosen from a dozen other hotels in this area. We chose this because of the great breakfast reviews…and the price. The breakfast was excellent! Even a fresh fruit bowl. The building is older but renovated well. Clean and fresh. Great pool area for the kids. If you don’t need a fancy name or a brand new appearance, this is the place for you.”
“The room was very nice and clean. Breakfast was good. I just wish it had some fresh fruit. Other than that, everything was very accommodating. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool!”

“This hotel has been here for a long time. And that's a really good thing. The high speed elevator is amazingly quick. The breakfast is simple but delicious and filling. Despite looking old the rooms are incredibly clean and very pleasant and even have USB plugs in useful places. I hope to come back in the future with my family and explore some more. I really want to see the fallout shelter in the basement.”

“I was very worried by the reviews. So I brought cleaning stuff and room stray lol the room did not smell like smoke or pot I was very pleased. Very quite and clean. Bed is comfy. If I get snowed in to work. Or have back to back shifts I will stay here again. Several in the area to choice from. But I would stay again”

“I had a wonderful stay here. The staff were always friendly, kind, and ready to help whenever I needed anything, which made my stay comfortable and stress-free.
The breakfast was enjoyable as well. It included muffins, cake, apples, coffee, and a variety of cereals. While it was simple, everything was fresh and satisfying, and I looked forward to it every morning.
Overall, I had a very positive experience. The warm hospitality of the staff and the pleasant breakfast were the highlights of my stay. I would be happy to stay here again in the future.”
“Great room for the rate. The mattress is too firm for my taste, and the pillows were on the smaller side. The toilet backed up after one use, and there was a missing bulb in the floor lamp. Otherwise nice, large, basic room that allows pets for a small fee, as compared to others. Really quiet here too. Would recommend and stay here again!”

“Stayed for one night on business, arrived after 8pm. Wish I would have had more time, the hotel was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful, room was spacious and very nice. Big fan of wide hallways and layout of my room. Furniture and decor was really cool. A great alternative to the cookie-cutter hotels I am used to staying at for work. The bar/restaurant area seemed really nice, I wish I would have been there long enough to try it out. Only minor inconvenience was with the parking garage. A bit of a journey to park and get back to the hotel, but the front desk person fully explained everything and I chose to go ahead and use the garage. Street parking is available and would be much more convenient for multiple trips in and out. On the plus side, I got my steps in! Would highly recommend if you are working in the area and need a place to stay and would also be a great vacation spot that offers a unique experience.”
