They have a wonderful selection of carpet, laminate, and tile. And they have friendly and knowledgeable people to work with as well.”

“I know this is hard to believe but Star Lumber still answers the phone! No automated robots to get you to the wrong department.Star is still a real lumberyard. A lot of folks probably don't remember real lumberyards but there was once a time when employees of lumberyards knew things and understood general residential construction.I'm sure there are some knowledgeable people at the box stores but generally, if you don't walk in with A "sku" number, they're completely lost.I'd rather even pay a little more for good service and knowledgeable salespeople.”

“I came the other day to use the free air that Lowe’s provides, however when I started filling my tires, after checking it with my electronic gauge, it kept saying L, so I figured maybe I wasn’t doing it correctly. I went in & asked the cashier if there was anyone that could come & help me & he went to get someone nearby.The guy that came to help me was SO friendly & professional. His name is Brandon Miller, he did give me a card with a QR code on it to do this survey, unfortunately you need a receipt to put in a Key ID for the survey & I didn’t purchase anything, so I had no receipt. I did still want to give Brandon M a shout out though because the professionalism & friendliness he has was outstanding!I’ve worked management before so i definitely know a good employee when I see one. Instead of just helping me figure out the one tire, he filled all of my tires without hesitation. My electronic gauge stopped working & that was the issue I was having so he went inside & grabbed one of the old school ones & filled all my tires perfectly. I didn’t have cash but asked him if he had cashapp so I could send him a tip & he appreciated that but did decline saying there was no need for a tip. I think this is a 5 star employee, he didn’t make me feel bad or silly for needing help & him going out of the way to fill ALL my tires was really helpful.Not only did he fill all them but he taught me how to fill them myself, explained the hissing noise & informed me that it’s not filling when it’s making that & showed me the difference between that & when air is actually going into the tire.After all that, I thanked him & got back into my car & he was heading back inside but then turned around & came back, soI rolled my window down & he gave me the psi gauge that he used, since my electric gauge was no longer working. (We checked it on 2 tires & it just kept saying L but when checked with the other one, the tire did get air).But for him to give me that so I had one was so sweet & im so gracious cause little did he know that the vehicle was my grammas car. So not only did he help me, but now my gramma has a working gauge in case she ever needs it.10/10 a 5 star employee.Thanks again SO much Branden for above & beyond & maintaining a positive attitude through it all.”

“We live over an hour from the east store. I'd ordered a Maytag washer and dryer which took a week to be delivered to the store since they do not make deliveries in our area. We got to the store and notified them of our arrival, gave them the information they needed, and told them we had quite a bit of shopping to do. They told us they would bring them out front and they would be by the customer service when we were done. When we came back to get someone to help us inspect and load them for us, it took almost an hour of waiting. Way too much time. The washer had a dent in it. I did not want to wait another week and have to drive back. Fortunately, they discounted it for us. Most of the employees were very helpful.”

“Great home improvement store if you are out in the far Northwest corner of Wichita, at Maize and 37th North. Huge place with plenty of variety and fair prices. Personally, I’m not a fan of the mail-in rebate system here which is a huge part of their ad items, but there are good sales to be found that don’t require mailing anything. This location is much more accessible than the East side spot, and has a variety of other great shopping centers south of the store which can make the trip worthwhile. I’ve found good home supplies and lumber here, as well as fairly priced pet supplies and outdoor needs. Halloween yard decor is out now too which is awesome to see. I can recommend the west Mernards.”

“Adam and Ryan in the outdoor/grilling department were very professional and helpful. I had a question about an online discount for a pellet grill/smoker. They didn’t have that specific model in stock, so they price matched me with a grill from the same manufacturer, but a couple models up. I ended up getting an even better deal than I left home for. I felt like they were willing to overlook a small detail, such as the model specific call-out on the sale coupon, and instead thought about the long term customer they turned me into. Bravo guys, and thank you!”
