“A true local gem. May’s Grocery on the Right Fork of Island Creek is one of the last real mom-and-pop stores left in Pike County, and Benny & Patricia run it with pride. The store is always clean, well-stocked with southern essentials, and the prices are as fair as the big chain stores in town.
Convenient hours (open 364 days a year, 9 AM–11 PM, Sundays 12–11) and a friendly, family-run atmosphere that’s rare these days.
Also perfectly located to serve both Island Creek and the Mud Creek/Toler area of Floyd County.

“Food City offers good deals on meats, especially with the 5 for 2O, which I use those meats for breakfast mostly with the exception of the chicken legs and hamburger meat. Some items, however, are cheaper at Walmart, so you learn where to go for what item.One area Food City offers more is the savings from the Food City rewards card. It saves on certain items, and it also offers fuel bucks to use at the pump.I have the Walmart plus membership, as well, and you get 10 cents off of every gallon of gas no matter what, while Food City's fuel saver is determined by how much you spend in store.Walmart has better prices on water while Food City has better offers on milk.The biggest advantage that Food City has over Walmart is that they have a selection of fresh meats and different variations of seasonings on some of them, while Walmart only offers deli meat for sandwiches.Food City also offers certain fruits and vegetables for 5 for 7.99.I”

“I love Food City, but I got lost the last time I was here. I was supposed to get pickles and other canned goods, but got lost amongst the cold items. I found myself on the wrong side of Food City rather quickly, running with the wrong crowd. I had to do things to make it…I sold out for Lil Debbie Cakes. They were my weakness, a cream pie for a…well you can fill in the rest. Eventually someone found me and led me to the door. I was free, or so I thought. I may have escaped Debbie, but you can’t escape Hostess. Forever a Hostess Ho Ho. Food City is great though”

“I like shopping here for baby wipes and other personal care items. Kids can always get a toy or a cute outfit, everything is good quality and value. Its true what they say tho, you get what you pay for. There are some things that shouldn't be so expensive, that is why we have the dollar store. Lol plus, its at a very convenient location.”
