Ace Hardware on Pontchartrain is truly a neighborhood treasure. Every time I stop by — whether it’s for a quick DIY fix, garden supplies, or something I didn’t even know I needed — they always have it. The store is well-organized, fully stocked, and easy to navigate.
What really sets this Ace apart is the staff. They’re incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help without being pushy. Whether I need help finding the right tool, matching paint, or troubleshooting a project, they always take the time to make sure I leave with exactly what I need.
You can tell they care about the community and take pride in what they do. It’s the kind of local service you just don’t get at the big box stores.

“Update:There has been a change in management. The lady who managed the store prior to covid is back, and it shows. The problem managers are no longer there. Glad the store is back to being a good place to shop.Up until this past March this TSC branch was AWESOME. There was a lady there (wish I knew her name) who was a manager and she was great. There was a guy who was also a manager who was also very helpful. But I haven't seen either of them for months, and since they disappeared, this branch has really taken a nose dive. The last few purchases that required management to do something has been a disaster. Everything takes FOREVER. And not because they are crowded, but because they are just horrible. They go to get something or someone to complete your purchase and just disappear. Go and start helping another customer, or just enter the twilight zone and you can't find them. After my trip there this past weekend, I have now officially written the place off. Wont go back. And we used to go there a LOT. All my feed (I have over 100 chickens) now comes from a feed store that is twice as far away. Such a shame to, because the place really was great before. My last trip to the Slidell TSC reminded me of how ours USED to be.”

“I've been shopping at Harbor Freight for decades. Most of the tools were very low quality, but cheap. So for single use tools at a very low cost, it was a perfect place to buy tools. Since then, some of the tools are nearly as good as expensive name brand tools. The price has gone up, but they're still cheaper than brand name tools that cost much more. I'm not embarrassed to own Icon, Hercules or Quinn tools.”
“Since it's the only one in our town we go there for quite a few things. They do have good sales ,sometimes, especially on cleaning projects. Their garden center is nice, wish they would add a bigger variety and the employees I have asked questions to, either don't know or say they don't have it. And I found what I was looking for anyway. Needs someone to focus on the plants and make sure there in good shape and all the dead pieces are gone. Other than that, I enjoy walking the garden center. And they have a great selection of plant food, root starters, seeds, and pesticides that are safe for the plants.”
“EXCELLENT SERVICE. Explained entire situation with my stove and told me how to check it in the future. Put my mind at ease concerning possible gas smell from oven, explaining that it was normal for propane ovens to sometimes have a slight gas smell. Not always but it does happen sometimes. Very nice and knowledgeable.”

“Went in looking for a cover thought I was spending 250 cost me 450 but the machine was 15yrs old they took their time to find the right part I needed and worked with me better than any other company. They have gained a customer for life. If you need anything welding related, go to these guys. They will go more than an extra mile to make sure you get what you need!!”
