“Romero’s Texaco. Mr Kerry was cleaning the gas pumps. I commended him. Pulling in and seeing this first is really impressive. I explained how their are customers that look for this. This is the first thing I saw and gave me a great impression. Great job Mr Kerry!!”

“John's is, well, John's. All-in-one shopping experience if you need to grab a little gas for the mower before running in to grab what you need to fix that leaking faucet, pick up a few steaks for dinner, and get the wife a pack of cigarettes. Just don't expect to pick up a six-pack to cool off after all that work.I like John's and shop here often despite living an equal distance between this store and Walmart. The prices are on par with other locally owned competitors, and you get a lot less traffic along with a much more personalized shopping experience.Writing the first paragraph in this review makes me think that John's Grocery & Hardware could be summarized as follows:"The Perfect 'Honey-Do' Store"...You can get a new housekey, grab a 10mm socket to replace the 22 you've lost over the past 10 days, find the hardware you need to check off a few more things, get a nice hot breakfast bowl and some coffee, then grab the breakfast items you're going to coerce your wife into cooking for the kids while you're outside drinking the beer you bought down the road, I mean working hard to get that honey-do list done.Oh yeah, did I mention they don't sell beer? It's not a bad thing. There are plenty of places to buy that stuff. Ten out of five stars.”

“I have been to the store probably 100 times it's been there forever many many many many years the only thing that's really expensive I think of cigarettes we go there to get our beer every now and then and a dinner because they serve some really good meals there ain't nothing like some gas station food LOL their food is very yummy”

“This store is clean the staff is nice an very helpful. The dollar store used to be a inexpensive alternative to the higher-priced stores. You used to be able to get high quality at lower prices. BUT over the last six or seven years it seems as though the prices of their merchandise have gotten more expensive, and the quality and quantity has become less and less over the years. So now the items you usually find, that's cheaper than Walmart, end up being a smaller size, an if your not careful, you will not notice the size being slightly smaller (that's how they trick you), so definitely pay attention not only to the price, but the quantity or size the product lists.”

“I LOVE this store and the workers are so helpful and sweet!! The only thing missing are the hours of business. That would really help! I looked up the hours on Google and they say 10pm every night. Obviously that's not true on Sundays, as I just found that out lol. But great store with great selection!!”

“Never heard of this place by the name given it here "st helena grocery" as the sign out front and anyone around here would tell you it's the "Sportsman Crossing" and now that I have googled it to confirm such I am far more prepared to guve it a 5 star rating as its run by the very nice lady that owns it as well as runs the place full-time and has been nothing but very kind to me each and every time I stop in as she does keep my favorite pork budan on the ready as well as the 10 piece pack in her freezer section identical to the ones in her slow cooker as I did buy a pack figuring I would cheat a little and cut out the middle man, but just wasn't the same as a personal stop and short friendly chat with her or one of her family members running the cash register (rare occurrence but does happen occasionally) as she was even helpful on my decision to move in to Oak Forest Estates being she gave it her personal glowing reviews the very night I came over this way to look at the place I currently reside in for just over a year now. Will say another thing about the place as it's gas prices are very competitive with the ones in Walker some 5 miles north of it, even cheaper if you elect to pay in cash and that to me is a very rare thing to find in what I would concider a country store at its very best... Sincerely”

“Just wanted to take the time to give a “Shout Out” to Angelina. As a customer I see her working hard in the store. I appreciate that so much. I’m able to walk down the aisle.. And the shelves are stocked. And Angelina is always courteous to her customers. I thought she needed to be recognized. Thank you Angelina ! Keep up the good work.Phyllis Cooley”

“It's very organized and very neat. Most of their Breakfast food is cheaper than Walmart. It more than a Dollar General store, it a Dollar General Store Market. I LOVE GOING IN THERE, but I have yet to come out of their for under 110.00. And I haven't brought big ticket items, r Laundry items. This is mostly food and snack items.I drive 15-18mins out the way just to go there, when I have a regular Dollar General Store 6-7mins away. I litterly love it. .... Just make sure you have a few extra dollars..........”

“It would really be nice when you walk into a store and the cashier is 5 feet from you and she sees you, she should say hello. Also when you walk up to the register she should ask you how are you, something not stand there and look at you.”
