“This store has a better selection than the other $Generals in this area. The merchandising is pretty decent, the personnel is friendly, my only complaint is there is always big pallets of merchandise blocking the aisles. Other than that this is still the neatest store around here.”

I really love Korean food, and this store is my go-to for everything korean. If you're interested in making your own recipes then this is the place you'll want to visit. I recommend their young radish kimchi, and their Nappa cabbage kimchi. Also recommend their yellow Pickled radish. Their garlic is super fresh and the old and new owners are super nice and helpful.”
“The best sausages, stuffed pork chops and hogshead cheese ANYWHERE. The Italian, chorizo, garlic...all of the sausage choices. This store and personnel are always a pleasure and is a great example of why New Orleans is such a special place. Viva Terranovas!! A precious place in my heart. “Saw this place on TikTok randomly and drove from Metairie to check it out. I’m so glad I did! Friendly service and fantastic food. Affordable. The fried chicken breast (on po boy) was extremely juicy and delicious. They must allow their chicken to sit in a seasoning solution overnight bc it was not dry at all! And it had a delicious crust. Can’t wait to try the shrimp bc it smelled fantastic (I bought both) ??”
“Love shopping at this location! The produce is always fresh, colorful, and neatly displayed. Frozen section has a great variety of unique snacks. The cashiers are super friendly, and there is always a wonderful vibe inside. Highly recommend!”

“The best grocery store in the world. It fits the criteria for that elusive “Third Place” we seek out in our adult lives. After Katrina the Sr. Canseco opened this establishment after the success of his flagship Old Metairie location. New Orleans was in desperate need of local grocers. The Esplanade location is by far the best. It truly is a marvel that they are able to stock and fill this teeny triangular space that was converted from an old autoshop with pretty much everything you could possibly want or need. Creole Tomatoes, Cuban Sandwiches, my son’s favorite cranberry chicken salad, the best shallots I can find. Sebastian in the meat department curates an amazing selection given the space.
The staff is the best part. Maybe it’s the magic of the location— it’s quintessentially New Orleanian— or they just hire good folks. I love to shop for produce when Lawrence is working, Eric is always so sweet and endearing to my son Bear, Miss Diane is my favorite checker, Miss Bri loves my son and is no nonsense when it gets busy. Miss Jackie is the same and I love her bossy attitude as well…. I could go on, but they are more than staff here. When the power is out they’re open, if there is a natural disaster they’re there and find away to make it happen. You can get every single thing you could possibly need at this store and have a swell time doing so. It’s a neighborhood and New Orleans treasure. I can buy everything I need for authentic gumbo, yet checkout and leave with an artisan umbrella, fridge magnets, notepad, heartburn meds, socks, a bag of ice, and a warm heart.

“Doing my own personal hunt for the best poboy and Zara’s is currently at the top. Got the shrimp and roast beef and both are my favorite version of each—overstuffed (compliment) with small, well fried shrimp on soft bread, mayo, very well shredded lettuce, and tomato. The ferdy was just as much roast beef debris as satisfying full ham pieces, leaving me satisfied without sacrificing the messiness that leaves me full. Put it down the hatch with a Diet Coke on my back porch, since the ambiance knocks zara’s down a notch for a tourist, but is no knock to a local.”
“The best part of the store! Looking at all the beautiful pastries and sweets are so elegantly displayed, it really makes it difficult to choose from ?.
My partner and I both got a slice of Gentilly cake. This cake is dangerous. It really puts a smile on your face after devouring it ???”
“This store is clean, well organized, and well stocked. Prices are good and they have plenty of check out lines and folks to belp. There is nothing I needed during my stay in New Orleans that they didn't have. Had some steaks cut, got some baby wipes, wine, beer and they have liquor as well. Wish we had one back home!!!”

“I started going to this supermarket that just opened up maybe about a year or two ago but they have some great prices and also fantastic meat market with good prices. All the meat is good and fresh which is very important. Also have family packs with the meat reasonably priced to accommodate all income of the family. They take food stamps and now they're about to start taking insurance cards. I don't know if they started that, but I was really surprised to see how good the prices are and really very surprised. It is a good place to go by meet at a decent price which is hard to find these days employees are very courteous and always willing to help plenty of parking handicap entrance daily sales always”

“Rouses is a very good supermarket to go shopping at very clean. The shelves are always stocked. Employees always very willing to help find things that you're looking for. It is some of the last privately owned grocery stores still around. The food is always fresh, especially their seafood. It's always local seafood they supply. It is a great place to shop. Prices are reasonably priced and daily sales. I suggest families should go here to go shopping to find the goods, especially fresh seafood which is hard to find these days”

“Had a catering order -full pan of chicken Alfredo, 1/2 pan of jambalaya, 1/2 pan of coleslaw, veggie tray, Fruit and cheese tray, and deviled eggs! The food was FANTASTIC! It was ready at the time requested! The pans were filled to the top! Definitely recommend and will use them again!”
