“I’ve recently discovered this food store near my house and wish I’d found it long ago. Great poboys, fried chicken and other food for super reasonable prices. My favorite so far is their shrimp poboy”
“I love our neighborhood spot! Fried Shrimp Combo comes with a stacked sandwich of fried shrimp, lettuce & tomato (I request no mayo) on soft bread with crinkle cut fries.”
“The best sausages, stuffed pork chops and hogshead cheese ANYWHERE. The Italian, chorizo, garlic...all of the sausage choices. This store and personnel are always a pleasure and is a great example of why New Orleans is such a special place. Viva Terranovas!! A precious place in my heart. Thank you thank you thank you for being there!!!”
“Watched your story just now on Fox8 from my home in BaySaintLouis. The same one I swam out of 20 years ago. I just wanted to leave a note saying how great of a man I think you are, sir. Thank you for being the cornerstone of your community. You're like a mini-super walmart there. And we will make a trip there soon to support your buisness and get some down home soul food.”
“Great local convince store with an awesome little kitchen. Feels like NOLA, the staff always is a great interaction in my day and they always keep my oreos, lol.”
“The only reason I didn't give this location 5 stars is that NO one used the 2 magic words (please or thank you), other than that the store is well stocked and organized and the employees are efficient....except for the 2 magic words!”
“Great place staff friendly great food great prices great people all around wonderful atmosphere ?. I would recommend the fried chicken ?? Mac & Cheese ?. Very tasty ? might I add.? Hope to see some ? faces ? next time I'm in. Fellow artist ??and neighbor @tinkofnola??.”
“Great neighborhood grocery store with an amazing deli. Great local beer and seltzer selection, super friendly staff, and a great selection of fresh groceries and grab-and-go snacks!”
“Love this place and can't express just hoe great the selection is for being such a small store. They also have great deals regularly. Support local, small mom and pop businesses like this one.”

“Saw this place on TikTok randomly and drove from Metairie to check it out. I’m so glad I did! Friendly service and fantastic food. Affordable. The fried chicken breast (on po boy) was extremely juicy and delicious. They must allow their chicken to sit in a seasoning solution overnight bc it was not dry at all! And it had a delicious crust. Can’t wait to try the shrimp bc it smelled fantastic (I bought both) ??”
“Neighborhood grocery store. They may not have everything due to their size but it feels like that place where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came... oh and keep a lookout for the sales and deals because they're always more bang for your buck very worth it!!!”

“Doing my own personal hunt for the best poboy and Zara’s is currently at the top. Got the shrimp and roast beef and both are my favorite version of each—overstuffed (compliment) with small, well fried shrimp on soft bread, mayo, very well shredded lettuce, and tomato. The ferdy was just as much roast beef debris as satisfying full ham pieces, leaving me satisfied without sacrificing the messiness that leaves me full. Put it down the hatch with a Diet Coke on my back porch, since the ambiance knocks zara’s down a notch for a tourist, but is no knock to a local.”
“Solid market. Has a wide selection of candies, vegetables, and coffee beans. They have some good to-go food if you don't feel like cooking dinner. Cool alcohol selection upstairs.”
“Absolutely surprisingly great deli counter, the gumbo and red beans and rice were spot on, as were the meat pockets. Prices were more than reasonable.
If you're visiting the area, and looking to eat in for the night, or just need a drink and a snack, this is the the place to be.”
“They are always smiling and talking to their customers in this store. My only issue is the prices. Some of the prices are insanely high. Other than that everything is fine”
“Mr. Sam was such a helpful person. After shopping and realizing I had forgot my card at home, he didn’t mind staying open a little later than the closing time for me to run home and come back to purchase my groceries! Mr.Sam has me as a forever customer, thank you again!”
“I really love this little store always has what i need and the hours on the weekends are great when your hungry late at night and want a snack so glad they put this here”

“I love this place — and so does my dog!
NOLA Village is full of culture, heart, and truly loving people. Every time I come in, I feel welcomed, valued, and uplifted. What makes it even more special is how they treat my dog like family — that kind of kindness is rare.
The space is creative, soulful, and built with purpose.
It’s a real reflection of New Orleans love. A true gem in the community!”
“Haven’t been here that many times, but the moment that I did stop by was pretty pleasant and actually very pleasant stop they have a lot to offer in this market and I don’t believe Walmart itself even has the options this market has”
“Just like any other grocery store. This place looks clean, shelves are stocked and the workers are attentive. Things are a bit expensive though. You can deffenetly see their make ups on the wallet.”
“Walked here from my hotel. Had the necessary items. Bread, cheese, and some sliced turkey. I wish the yogurt selection was greater than it was, but it was a good little store.”

“Read Supermarket is One of the most reliable corner markets in New Orleans east! They not only offer hot, made to order food but they also have a small meat department. I have never ordered any meat from there but I know they try to sale fresh meat options for their customers. They also have a cellular service department that sales/ fixes phone screens and tablets for customers. If you are in the area be sure to ask for Rocky, that’s my cousin, she’s one of the best cashiers there!”

“I’m so sorry that woman lost her life by way of a senseless act of violence. I love shopping at this store frequently. Everyone here is so kind and willing to answer questions I have about the products they sell when I’m curious and want to try new things with my family. My condolences. May she rest in peace. ??”
“The loveliest people. Home cooked vibes. Great prices! Did I mention the people? I go in here and I’m treated like I’m invited to their thanksgiving. There is magic in their kindness. Fradys seems like more than just a place to grab food. It’s like catching up with extended family.”
