“Living at The Beacon is an absolutely perfect experience moving down to New Orleans!
The building itself is in a great location. The neighborhood (Central Business District (CBD), and the specific couple of blocks called South Market) is an excellent place to live.
It is one of the safest parts of New Orleans, and walking the neighborhood is very feasible and convenient. There is a Rouse's (major supermarket) right across the street, and a few blocks away is Poydras (the main road) which has plenty of restaurants and other things you'd need in your neighborhood, as well as on some of the side streets. There is a very good Mexican restaurant right next door to the building which is also very convenient, but even on a busy weekend night you can't hear anything at all in the building itself, the sound is very well-insulated.
The building is also only a few blocks (walking distance) from both Smoothie King Arena and the Superdome, so if you want to see the Saints/Pelicans or any other events during the week, it is extremely convenient. Most of the business in CBD is also walking-distance. I worked in Lafayette Square and it was about an 8-minute walk. The exit to get onto the highway is also right off of Poydras (2min drive, maybe 5min with after-work traffic), and the exit back into CBD is even closer right near the Superdome. Unlike many neighborhoods, it's very easy to travel in and out of CBD without having to navigate side roads/traffic.
The building/management itself is also excellent. There is a great community of people, both residents and staff, and everybody is very welcoming (and for a first-timer to New Orleans like myself, very helpful with getting accustomed to the city). The amenities are great, and the price is excellent especially given the size/quality of many of the apartments. There is also a number of social events for those who want to partake, and the company that owns/manages The Beacon also has two other buildings each a half-block away in different directions, so there is a great community around South Market even outside the building. In the year I was here, I never had an issue with the building/amenities, and the rare one or two times I asked for maitenence for a routine replacement, they were extremely quick in handling it (for me, within only a few hours). Also, more basically, the building is very clean, safe (fob accesss for doors/elevators on the ground and 2nd floor, as well as the package/mail room), and has a great atmosphere. On top of that, all of the staff (both the leasing office and the concierge) are excellent, extremely helpful and welcoming, and a pleasure to be around.
I highly recommend The Beacon and the location. I came to New Orleans for work on a one-year term, which is my reason for leaving now that that has concluded, but if I was staying I would intend to remain at The Beacon long-term, and I was extremely happy with my experience here!”
“I had an exceptional experience while searching for an apartment for my daughter, thanks to Christi! Her kindness and dedication were evident as she spent a considerable amount of time with us, ensuring we found the perfect fit. Christi’s extensive knowledge about the community and the available options made our tour absolutely fantastic. We truly appreciate her efforts and thoroughly enjoyed working with her. Thank you, Christi!”
“Just wanna start by saying quickest and most efficient help I’ve gotten from this team getting into an apartment. Carolina was the best with accommodations and helping the move in process speed along. She need a raise the way she works her magic!!”
“After more than a decade, my mother at 90 years old is moving out to an assisted living community. We were happy to get a two-bed room apartment with a balcony overlooking a lovely courtyard. The Preserve suited my mom's needs very well. Attentive faciltiies staff. Management staff knew my mother and she appreciated them. The Preserve has very nice socials across the year and also provide opportunities for community service for more vulnerable persons.”

“I've lived in multiple different apartments around New Orleans and this is the first one where moving out never crosses my mind. The location is just too convenient, I walk to dinner, walk to the Caesars Superdome on game days, walk to Rouses for groceries. During my renewal, Jo actually flagged a better rate I hadn't noticed, which was a nice surprise from someone on the staff. My cat is comfortable here too since the building is genuinely pet friendly and not just listing it as a feature. The saltwater rooftop pool and the sundeck are where most of my weekends go. It's a beautiful spot to just sit and let the afternoon disappear.”
“Huge thanks to Elizabeth for making my recent search such a positive experience. She was incredibly kind and helpful every step of the way. A big thank you as well to Michael and Derrick for jumping in when she was away — they were just as helpful and welcoming. Together, this team radiates positivity and good vibes — you can’t help but feel it when working with them. ?”
“Beautiful luxury apartment community in a prime location! The large walk-in pantry is a rare find and super convenient, and the spacious balcony offers a spectacular view—perfect for relaxing or entertaining. Highly recommend!”
“I have lived at Summerfield for over a year now and have really enjoyed my time here. From maintenance resolving issues, even after hours in some instances. To Management being very nice, helpful and responsive. I really recommend staying here.”
“I want to give a huge shout-out to Cordell at The Saulet! He has such a warm spirit and a genuine disposition that makes living here a better experience. This past weekend, he went completely out of his way to help me retrieve a package from the package room while we’ve been having technical issues. He’s always willing to offer assistance with a smile. Cordell is truly a stellar part of the Saulet staff!”
“I have lived at Gold Seal Lofts since 2011 and I am extremely happy with my home. The property is well kept and the office staff is great. Planning on planting some veggies this season in the Community Garden that is available to us. I also love the courtyard lights that have been added. Not planning on going anywhere. Come be my new neighbor if you can get in! We are full. That’s what proves we are great.”
“We are relatively new here but were asked to leave a review. The area is great and very convenient. Heather is also the best person I have interacted who works here. She is truly a gem and honestly a major reason I’m giving 4 stars.
When we first moved in, there was a long list of things that needed to be fixed in our apartment. Maintenance did address most of them, but it took a while and required multiple visits, with a few tickets needing to be reopened before everything was resolved.
As far as amenities go, there is definitely some room for improvement. That said, I do respect management for trying to meet expectations—even if it takes a “New Orleans minute” to get there. Overall, I do like living here and I hope that doesnt change any time soon.”

“I love the place! so charming, definitely a real New Orleans feel to the property!!!. My daughter was looking for an apartment as a student and CJ assisted us with the lease. I am all the way in MD so the comfort of knowing the community is tight, clean and safe was all we needed to sign a lease. We were even allowed to ship items such as her furniture and mattress prior to her move in. It has been over a year now going into year two on the lease and I have nothing but good things to say. Even when a few things were wrong in the apartment, they were quick to fix it. I even came down for Thanksgiving and I enjoyed cooking in the quaint kitchen. For the location, charm and cost, you can not beat it!”
“I've been at Park Oaks for over 5 years now and have had an amazing rental experience. The front office staff Terry and Morgan, are always kind and courteous. They conduct regular check-ins over the phone to make sure that everything is going well with my unit. I rarely have issues with my unit, but when I do, George and his team respond quickly to any maintenance tickets that I submit. I truly appreciate having a staff that cares about their tenants, and I will be renewing my lease with Park Oaks again.”
“Bryson was a really good person to work with he was extremely informative & helpful during the whole process I would definitely recommend this property to others!!!”
“Jenny was very generous and helpful with providing my family and I with the best floor plan layout that fit makes my family and I so comfortable, because we’re tired of stairs… thank you Jenny”
“I relocated to New Orleans 2 year's ago and was blessed with a place to call home at Josephine Lofts. Josephine Lofts had everything I wanted in an apt from the pool, gated parking to my quiet space the rooftop.
The management and maintenance team here (Eva and Stanley)are friendly and addresses issues if any, in a timely manner which I appreciate.”
“Great location. Management is proactive with communications and responsive for followup. Clean and quiet. Friendly tenants. Locked mail room is good. Very short walk to Petite Clouet for coffee and Acamaya for award winning dining. Secure parking.”
“Everything good, Just that almost everytime the laundry machines are not working , i had to dry my clothets 3 times in diferent machines so it could be completly dry. Waste of time”
“Great apartment, It was peaceful living here for 2 years. Tyjahnay & Ms. Deshone are helpful people whenever I call the office. Only thing is the elevators break often …….”
“I lived at Metaire Lake Apartments a few years back, for almost two years, when I was in the New Orleans area. I absolutely loved this complex. It's pretty quiet. I think most of the tenants are young professionals, as there were not many children. The location is awesome! Near Bucktown, so great restaurants on the same street and very close to Lake Pontchatrain. Sometimes I would walk there for a workout. It is right off of Veteran's BLVD which is the main street in Metairie, where it seems like everything is located. Metairie Lake is very close to New Orleans -- Just a couple of blocks from Lakeview, and about a 10 minute drive to the French Quarter.
I would definitely recommend it. The rates are very affordable. The property was always clean, and the area was safe. I never had any issues with management. If I were to move back to New Orleans, this I'd choose this complex again.”
“Ms. NEDRA really helped me and my husband with our renewal of lease. Taking her time to go over all the new terms of agreement. Ms. Nedra gave special attention to my husband and his disability needs.”
“I have lived here for two years and totally enjoyed it. The office and maintenance staffs are very professional and helpful. The location is convenient and the pool is great!”
“Very nice place to live, am currently living here and security parking lot mail box everything is very good no complaint so far and residents are friendly plus pet friendly apartments, convenient store are close market and mall restaurants all very accessible.”
“Gorgeous apartments in the middle of the French Quarter are hard to come by but DH has just that! The apartments themselves are newly updated and the views of the French Quarter are outstanding! Being able to walk to restaurants, bars, coffee shops and grocery is extremely convenient as well!”
“I live in Arbor Place Apartments almost a year and I never have a problem with nobody is very safe and the manager help me a lot when I need something from my apartment ?? she is very patient and so nice with the people who come to apply to the apartment very professional in her job I hope everybody find an Apartment like Arbor Place Apartments and get the personal who have there”
