“I've gone to this store off and on since they had a video rental shop on the second floor, the new owners have absolutely revitalized the shop, not only redesigning the flow but including higher end grab and go items including viral candy crazes. They went from clearly being near closure to the store I walk to by preference. The new owners seem to be quite lovely folks too, and are exhibiting why I love hearing about new mainers helping give our community a shot in the arm!”

“Needed to grab something quick. Was able to get in and out in under 10 minutes. Shaw’s has great deals on flowers, but tends to have higher prices than others, but it is reliably clean and well-stocked. There is plenty of parking, but it is at a confluence of several parking lots with weird intersections that make it hazardous at times. Once in the store, you will be much better off. I also do t enjoyed self-checkout at Shaws; the interface with the machines is delayed and the scale is over-responsive so it “yells” loudly a lot. The gentleman who tends to staff self-checkout is very helpful.”
“I have had great service at this location. Although it can be challenging to get in contact with them through phone (I tend to just swing by in person) and they're typically booked out fairly far, especially as winter closes in, the mechanics there are always helpful and honest. They've been struggling with low staffing for quite a while, which the employees themselves can't really help. They usually are fairly busy when I arrive, so it takes longer than you might expect for a rotation and balance, but honestly it's no worse than Tire Warehouse, for example, who I've waited on for almost 2 hours just for a tire swap. All things considered, I've never had a negative interaction with the employees there, and they have been honest with me about what they have lined up and a fair estimate of when I should expect to have my car serviced. I got a great deal on tires at BJs with free rotations, balancing, AND flat repair, and that's is well worth the wait in my opinion. Honestly the best deal I've ever gotten on a quality set of tires. It seems that low reviews are pertaining to the wait time and lack of efficiency, but give them a chance. It's not their fault the company can't get more people hired.”
“So sad to see more self check outs then cashiers. I feel like this is taking the place of a job for someone. The store was clean, and organized with shelves being stocked. I needed help finding office supplies, a shipping box, and I was directed by the clearance isle. Parking was easy, and shopping was in and out.”

“No deli!!! It’s the only bjs I’ve even been to that doesn’t have a deli! The first time I came in I looked for the deli for a while, it was just so hard to believe!! The gas station and parking lot are also oddly set up. Otherwise it’s a nice BJ’s.”

The Cincinnati-based supermarket giant will open about 110 new stores in fast-growing markets by 2029 and introduce three updated store formats, executives told investors Oct. 20 at the company’s Investor Update in New York. Kroger already runs about 2,700 stores in 35 states. The formats come in three sizes, a bit like small, medium and large, matched to each market. Mary Ellen Adcock, Kroger’s executive vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer, walked through the lineup.
Walmart shoppers want a head start on the holidays, and money explains a lot of it. Some 44% of respondents call affording the holidays their top stressor, and 61% say holiday costs shape their shopping mood. Asked what would make the season easier, 70% picked lower prices and 57% picked more deals and promotions. Convenience ranks lower: 30% want one-stop shopping across categories, and 20% want faster delivery.
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
