“Stayed in the Annex which offers budget accommodations. Good value. Room was satisfactory but not great, hence the budget price. Great location with plenty of parking. Easy walk to main shopping and harbor. Easy drive to Acadia NP or short walk to the shuttle bus stop. Good breakfast.”
“I was so impressed with this hotel! The staff went above any beyond to get us anything we needed and were always very accommodating and kind. It was refreshing to see they had tons of staff ready and available to help - they did not seem understaffed like many hotels I’ve been to recently. They clean your rooms every day with fresh towels and they do an awesome job. One of the staff even got my husband late night pie from the kitchen since we had a newborn baby with us. It’s great proximity to downtown bar harbor and the shuttle picks you up right from the hotel. All the rooms have a great view of the water and breakfast is included, which was delicious. We will be back!”

“I’ve visited Bar Harbor several times in the past and I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for the first time August of 2025. We occupied room 401. Our family of two adults and two teenagers had plenty of space in the two bedroom suite. The bathroom was the cleanest bathroom I’ve ever experienced at any hotel ever, I’m not exaggerating! Breakfast is listed as a continental breakfast but it’s got a couple hot items that satisfy everyone. The vibe the hotel aims for is that of a time gone by and they succeed. The pool and hot tub were welcome on such unseasonably warm days . I would not hesitate to book this hotel on my next Bar Harbor visit.”

“We came for our honeymoon and had an amazing week here. Plenty of things to do with in walking or a short drive. Amazing views and everyone was welcoming! Saw two other weddings happening while we were there and they looks beautiful!”
“Clean spaces. Open spaces inside are clean and comfortable. The lobby has a chalet like feel. Restaurant is quaint . Very clean overall.
Rooms: Clean spacious rooms. Beautiful view on the second floor overlooking Forest Island in Frenchman's bay.
Nearby activities: Shopping and eating at walking distance a small block away.
Safety: Very safe!
Walkability: Short walk to Main street shopping and restaurants.”
“My boyfriend and I took a trip to Bar Harbor in early October for fall getaway. Choosing to stay at the Acacia House was the best decision we could’ve made! It was the perfect B&B experience. Ralph and Anna were wonderful hosts that made us feel right at home. The overall vibe was really cozy and welcoming; Cocteau twins playing softly through the speaker, warm lighting, cozy furniture. The room we stayed in was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfasts in the sunroom were the highlight of our stay. The breakfasts, pastries, and afternoon cookies were absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh and utilized local, seasonal ingredients. Some of our favorites were the daily specials, such as shakshuka, eggs benedict and banana pecan pancakes. We will 100% be recommending this place to our friends. And we’d stay here again in a heartbeat!”
“If you plan a trip to Bar Harbor Maine please try and stay at this Inn. It was absolutely beautiful and amazing. They offer a nice comfortable sitting room with a TV out in the lobby, three different porches, pool table and weight room. The room was very clean and comfortable. Easy walk to downtown shops and pier.”
“11/10! If there is an open room, BOOK NOW! It was perfect! Perfect location! Breakfast and coffee were great! Room was large and clean. Snacks and coffee availed 24/7. Patty and Sara were so sweet and helpful. It was our first trip to Maine, and not the last! And I will def stay here again when I go back. I’m telling everyone I know to stay at YH!
*A random piece of advice I wish I knew, not related to YH but Bar Harbor in general. Consider renting a car as Uber is VERY unreliable. You can walk everywhere in Bar Harbor, but if you want to explore the rest of the island/ the park, you MIGHT need a car depending on the time of year. And def to get to and from the airport. And YH has a private parking lot!”
“We had an exceptional experience at The Little Fig! If you are hiking Acadia in August, this is your spot. They have free bars and bananas and coffee in the lobby at all hours. We were able to grab food and leave early and find parking inside the park at some of the trickier lots. Then in the evening, we could walk everywhere in town without worrying about parking or making the last bus. Book early before they fill up for the season!”

“Just returned from our 5 day stay in the two bedroom Queen suite, Room 56. The hotel may be a little older, but very clean and the beds are comfortable. Special Kudos to Chaz, our housekeeper, who always had our room clean and tidy upon returning. He also showed extreme patience as one of our party was a late sleeper. Edenbrook is a lot more budget-friendly than other hotels in the area. Perfect location especially considering the shuttles. We found that getting on the shuttle across the street helped us find a seat in the front before everyone else got on as that is the first stop. Would definitely recommend Edenbrook for your stay in Bar Harbor.”
“The location was perfect for the things we wanted to see in bar harbor. Our cottage was very nice, very clean, and pet friendly. The outdoor seating areas were very pleasant. Communication with Hanscom's was excellent. Would definitely stay there again.”

“Look no further if you’re looking to stay in Bar Harbor! Anne’s White Columns Inn offered a world class experience with local touches and hospitality. My biggest criteria for a successful stay is cleanliness and safety. These two points were met perfectly. The bed was ultra comfortable and we slept well every night. Breakfasts were made from scratch and with love. Bob, Rob, Andy, and Lynette make you feel at home and part of their family (family run business). The location is unbeatable and an easy walk to the main streets of downtown. This stay not only met our needs beautifully, but really offered so much more beauty during our stay. Their meticulously landscaped property with varieties of flowers and plants I’ve never seen before invites you to really be on vacation and relax. We can’t thank the staff enough for making our experience in Bar Habor and Maine truly unforgettable! We WILL be back and tell all our loved ones about this tremendous stay!”

“My 12yo daughter, dog, and I stayed here for one night on our trip up and down the East Coast, and this was easily our best experience at a hotel. It’s been a month out, and we’re still thinking about it. The cleanest rooms we’ve ever seen, the friendliest and most attentive staff, and even the best continental breakfast with many gluten-free and dairy-free options. If you need a place to stay in Bar Harbor, this is it.”

“We were so happy with our stay here. Everything from the front desk staff and bellman to the beautifully elegant grounds to the historically decorated hallways and rooms made this inn one that we are certain to return to! The location is right on the water & we walked along the bay to have dinner on the wharf. We were welcomed with a complimentary Prosecco on the patio. Our room had a beautiful gas fireplace that we used both in the evening and morning. I loved the convenience of a coffee station in the room as I was getting ready. The decor in the room was charming & added to the atmosphere. Complimentary breakfast was unexpected and very appreciated! Thank you for a lovely addition to our Maine vacation!
Walkability: Wonderfully located on the harbor with a walking path to the docks. Also only steps away from Main St with shops, bars and restaurants.”

“We stayed at holiday inn during our trip to bar harbor. It has a great location, pretty close to the cottage street area and the right next to the ferry stop. There'a a bus stop in the hotel which is convenient. Rooms were clean, and staff were overall friendly. I would recommend this for family with little kids. Children enjoyed the pool, it got too busy later in the afternoon. Property is nice, offers nice views around the lake. Limited food choices and service when we visited but overall good choice for breakfast. Overall I recommend this hotel in bar harbor.”

“We had a basic room with two double beds the beds were comfortable I liked that we had a window that you could open. Bathroom was roomy. It was a good location down the road from downtown with some restaurants you could walk to. It was a little pricey considering there's no amenities it's very basic but I booked it for convenience to be close to trailheads and downtown. Staff was very nice the breakfast was basic nutri grain bars and breakfast sandwiches not your typical continental breakfast.”

“My husband, son & daughter & their spouses spent 4 glorious days with Dax & Sarah at their oh so beautiful establishment. So fun! Their attention to detail blew my mind. You only need to look at pictures on the website & FB to know how simply beautiful it is. I hope I get to return to Bar Harbor in the future to visit this fun & friendly couple. Thank you Dax & Sarah for precious memories!”
