“Update NOV 2023I'm upping the score for 2 reasons. #1 It's been about 12 months with no issues, #2 One of the managers contacted me to apologize. He informed me that their staff had not received adequate training on the Truth in Lending Act and, they were taking steps to do better going forward. I actually really appreciated that they were willing to admit fault in this incident and display a genuine effort to improve.Original PostIf you are looking for a mortgage, I would stay far away from Bangor Savings.They were always unprepared, and getting closing disclosures from them was like pulling teeth. On multiple occasions they forced me to sign incorrect documents. After almost daily phone calls, I finally received the correct documents the day before closing.Loan servicing is not much better. The portal provides very little information and since I don’t bank with Bangor Savings, there are no options to pay my mortgage online. My only option to make or change payments is through a 15-20 minute online chat.”
“I have recently had a difficult time maneuvering from a fraudulent incident that left me without access to my accounts. Haley Duff has been a real asset to Maine Savings and to myself through this difficult time. I’ve had to change my account entirely, including my bill pay . She has advocated on my account, to the tech end of Maine savings and has on several times , asked for assistance in getting me set up to continue on with my fiscal responsibilities . “I stopped into the Hammond St branch today to make a deposit and to confirm that my second attempt to add international travel to my card was successful; although it was not, Kyle resubmitted the necessary forms for me and called me personally a few hours later to tell me that everything was added. Being that I leave on Saturday and have a 6 hr time difference this was a relief and very much appreciated although definitely above and beyond!”
“This credit union has served us well. They give loans to 16 and 17 year olds with a cosigner. I brought my son here so that he could start building his credit before he turns 18. Their rates are way lower than any local bank and lower than any other credit union that I could find. They were fast and efficient and I highly recommend them.”

“Like another reviewer of BHB&T, I was with Merrill Bank, People's United, and now this one as the company has changed hands over the last 25 years. Customer service makes or breaks the deal with me. Not every feature or experience has been the best, but Bar Harbor Bank has served me well the vast majority of the time.
