We have two large dogs that have had daycare and we have boarded them for 10 days, because we took a trip. The staff has always been more than helpful. Our Newfie/ Berner mix knows when we have hit route one. He gets so excited. He cries in the car out of pure excitement. The staff will do extras to help make our dogs stay more enjoyable. We have not been disappointed.

Shearwater at Stage Neck Inn
8 Stage Neck Rd, YorkGreat Meal overall. Their wine list is very reasonably priced but I guess they run a half off wine promo on cloudy days? Good for us. We opted for a very nice South African Sauvignon Blanc. The Lobster Rangoon was tasty, although the accompanying “sweet and spicy aioli” wasn’t very sweet and a bit heavy for the fried Rangoon’s. My wife enjoyed her salmon but wished it had a bit more “personality” and needs just a bit more “oomph”. The Boon Island Stew however was absolutely delicious. The description reads like a Bouillabaisse, but is much creamier. The seafood was cooked perfectly and the deeply flavored stock wasn’t overly perfumed with saffron, which can overpower a dish. This was one of the best things I’ve eaten in quite a while. We topped that off with a 3-berry crisp. For a hotel dining room, they’re doing a lot of things well. Service was very good however, I suggest the staff be better informed about ingredients and preparation…perhaps it’s just early in the season? We’d definitely recommend and come back .

Dockside Restaurant on York Harbor
22 Harris Island Rd, YorkWe held my parents 50th wedding anniversary at Dockside. Everyone at the restaurant was so accommodating and gracious. The decor and linens were beautiful, and the view cannot be beat. We had chicken marsala and haddock with sides and everyone loved the food; they also provided a kid-friendly option for our youngest guests. They were willing to allow us to bring in our own cake, decorations, sound system, and even let us play a slideshow on the bar TV AND took artwork off the walls so we could hang decorations. Our event coordinator, Kerrigan, was so sweet and took care of us throughout the entire process. If you're looking for a gorgeous spot with good food to have a great party, this is it! Thanks to Kerrigan and the entire team for your help!
