“Nice to know Hull’s Family Bookstore is still around. It came up in conversation the other day as my older brother once worked at the downtown location. It was a staple of my childhood many great memories and bibles verses memorized.”
“***English will follow***
Very good place to buy books, books in English you have a ton for $1 each (used)
It's worth it
Really good place for discount pocket books!
Half the library is all $1 pocket book and they are good to read.
Worth it!”
“This is exactly what I was looking for in a used bookstore.
Excellent prices, countless genres to look through, and Cathy (the Store Owner) makes you feel welcome as soon as you enter.
I cannot wait to come back and browse again!”

“My new favourite used bookstore in the city. Well organized and I could easily spend hours here! Friendly staff goes above and beyond to help you find what you are looking for.”
“Small store but pretty impressive as he has lots in a small space and if you don't see it ask he will be able to help you find it if he has it. I travel 8 hours to get to the city and since finding this store it will always be one of my regular stops.”
“My favourite bookstore! I always make sure to stop in during my trips to Winnipeg. The owner is super friendly. Great selection of books! I don’t think I’ve ever stopped in and not purchased at least a few books! Definitely 10/10.”
“This place is a gem. It’s got character out the wazoo. Part of that character comes in the form of the building itself. Old, dusty book shop ran by a cantankerous old man hard at hearing. This is not a bookstore where you come to find something specific because there is barely anything close to organization. You come here to let serendipity take its course.
It has a surprisingly good selection of comics and older dvd/blurays.
Don’t be too pick about decor and atmosphere, for that you can go to Indigo and pay the higher prices there.
Hours are odd just like the owner. Opens 11:00-15:00 closed Thursday. But these hours shift at the whim of the owner. So don’t too closely on them.”

“We were referred to Black's when our mum passed away. She was an avid collector of books, and we wanted to get an opinion on the value of some older books in her collection. Adam and Ana came out to her home in Toronto, and were so helpful and diligent and honest in their approach. We ended up selling most of the collection, and consigning a few of the more valuable ones with them. It was sad to see the collection go but we were happy that they will get to good homes. Couldn't recommend more.”
“I was so excited by the decor of the bookstore when I walked into the facility by Grant Avenue. The wide variety of books available made me want to spend hours browsing through very interesting books that aren’t easily found in other bookstores. I would also find books that I would only come across online.”
“Awesome selection of comics and a wide variety of both literature and sports memorabilia. Found a copy of batman year one for 10 bucks. Used of course but in near perfect condition”
“Fantastic online customer service! I recently had an issue with an order that was NOT Chapter’s fault. The customer service agent resolved it immediately. I’m so impressed with their efficiency and with Chapter’s great customer service policies!.”
“Disclaimer: Worked here for a year or two, quit in 2020.
Formerly Chapters, now Indigo. Was a solid place to shop, and aside from low pay it was a decent place to work too.”
“This is such peaceful, lovely place to shop for books. There truly is something there for everyone. Highly recommended!(FYI- it's best to call ahead to check their hours, which have changed recently, possibly due to covid rules.)”
“What a cozy vibey shop! I've been wanting to go for some time and it was really nice to have the shop to myself to explore. They were helpful in answering my questions and helping me find an oil that fits my needs. Good collection of crystals!”
“What a phenomenal store! Such a huge selection of toys, games, costumes and books. I especially loved the model train accessories and miniature dollhouse furniture. No electronics. Great variety of prices. There is something for everyone!!”
