Eye Care for Animals - Annapolis Best Gate
808 Bestgate Road, AnnapolisAs my cat Rikki has been dealing with an ongoing eye issue that started with an eye injury, I decided to get him into an eye specialist because it wasn't improving. I'm so glad that I took him here because I found out that he's having vision problems in both eyes. From the moment I called to make the appointment, I felt at ease because it's definitely stressful for our pets to go to the vet and can be a financial strain as well. The staff was very transparent about the fee, which includes the exams. They are very reasonable for a specialist. I absolutely loved the friendly receptionist who made the appointment and they booked an appointment that was very soon.
When I took Rikki to his appointment this week, he was crying in his carrier so the staff took us into a room right away because he was so stressed out. The tech came in very quickly and began the initial part of the exam. Rikki was shy but he must have felt very comfortable with her because he cooperated very well. Dr. Hyman came in and we both felt very at ease. She was very thorough and she could immediately see why his left eye was still dilated. I found out that has Uveitis which can be very worrisome. His eye injury had healed but both eyes are affected by the condition. I felt bad because I didn't know that he had previous eye issues but she assured me that it's so easy to miss it because cats don't always present with symptoms that we can see. She ordered eye drops and blood work which was going to be quite expensive but they did tell me about the payment plans. You can do Care Credit or Scratch pay (which is easier if you have no credit or so-so credit). The blood panel is very important so they can find a cause for the Uveitis. Sometimes one can't be found but they can treat it with medication to prevent blindness. Dr. Hyman even was very helpful because we discussed the diagnosis because of my worries about the pet insurance. I am hopeful that I get reimbursed but I wouldn't put a price on getting my cat to a healthier place. Rest assured, there are Vets that truly care about their patients and pet guardians. If your cat or dog has an eye injury or problem, please take them to see her. I really wish that she could be his regular veterinarian!

I have a 14-year-old lab, and it's very hard for me to get home at a reasonable time in the evenings to feed him and take him out. It's made such a difference knowing that the dog walker will feed and walk my dog and give him some attention every afternoon so I don't have to stress about rushing home from work. They provide a daily log book too. My dog really IS a happy pet now that I use Happy-Pet!

First off—the scones are ridiculous. Easily the best I’ve ever had. Worth the stop by themselves.
The coffee holds its own too. Tried the Contordo for something bold and straightforward, then the Almond Joy for something a little more adventurous. Both were excellent in completely different ways.
Great coffee, incredible scones, relaxed atmosphere, and the kind of place that makes you come back the next morning even when you only have a weekend to explore Annapolis.
Solid all around. Curate earned two mornings of a very short trip.
