Dr. Pelura was especially supportive throughout, personally texting to check on him and helping us navigate difficult decisions. When his condition worsened while we were out of state, he took the time to message with me on a Sunday morning and help me through an incredibly difficult decision from afar, which meant so much to me.

Dogwood Acres Pet Retreat

My puppy and a friend’s puppy originally started going to another daycare for socialization and, quite frankly, to wear them out. It was okay—but there was no outdoor yard, no water play, and the straw that finally broke both our dog-mom backs was Juno consistently coming home smelling like urine…and somehow STILL having energy for days.
My friend finally said, “We’re trying Dogwood.” I followed her lead.
BEST. DECISION. EVER.
Dogwood has huge outdoor play yards, pools and playgroups for different-sized dogs, plenty of supervision, and cameras so you can peek in and watch your puppy having the time of her life. Juno comes home happy, tired, and clearly having had a DAY. And that’s just their doggie daycare.
We’ve also used Dogwood for boarding, and their standard kennel accommodations are just right—comfortable, clean, reasonably priced, and staffed by people who genuinely seem to love every animal as if it were their own.
And have I mentioned their customer service is OVER THE TOP?
While Juno was boarding last weekend, my boyfriend accidentally left without asking for her blanket. Dogwood texted me to let me know they had it. No big deal—I figured we’d grab it next time.
A few days later, someone from Dogwood DROPPED JUNO’S BLANKET OFF AT MY HOUSE IN EASTPORT.
Who does that?!
That little gesture says everything about this place. Their communication is spot-on, their staff is wonderful, their daycare and boarding rates are affordable, and the level of care and customer service consistently exceeds my expectations.
I genuinely cannot say enough good things about Dogwood Acres.
At the end of the day, it’s pretty simple: I’m happy because Juno is happy. ❤🐾
