“Honest store with good prices. Sometimes help is hard to find cause there is usually only one employee managing the store at any given time, so expect a long wait. But they treat you fairly.”

“Amazing Judaica store with a large selection of Seforim, Judaica, Tzitizis, Kippahs and books. The people who work there are all super friendly and always making sure to help you find whatever you need. It is located in Falstaff shopping center between Star Nails and Rent a Center. Save A Lot is just two doors down so you can also get some grocery shopping done while your out.”

“Bravo, and WOW is all I can say. This business is a great representation of what small business can be and do. The variety of book selection will keep ANY avid reader busy with every shelf of books. I am utterly impressed with the curation of the space that has so much unequivocal character and above all "CHARM" that downtown Baltimore thrives in cultivating. The woman that owns it has a true passion for book curation. She is truly a gem in a sea of explorative readers. Books like physics dictionaries, to the more urban Iceberg slim titles will keep any person, big or small thoroughly entertained. Please patron this business; the books are so reasonably priced. It would be foolish not to stop by and AT LEAST pick up a souvenir like an Edgar Allan Poe inspired postcard or children's books for you teachers out there. If not monetary, just conversation with the owner is always a treat; she will keep you thoroughly entertained.I hope people that see this review know that I have stake in this city as lifelong resident. This place is a WIN/WIN for all that call themselves true Baltimorean "Charmers" as this business has done to my heart. Best small book store I have ever experienced. Stop in, you won't be disappointed.”

His wife's incredible art is in the shop and it is absolutely stunning. A treat to witness. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves books, records, art, history and chill ambiance. They have something for everyone.”

“Excellent online ordering experience, both for books that were already available in store and for special orders. I was told that special orders typically come within a week. Competitive pricing, good communication, and friendly service. They even had a complimentary DIY gift wrap station set up in the store when I picked up my order the week before Christmas.”

“Excellent customer service. They went out of their way to help me with a DIY compass repair. I can't recommend them highly enough, and I'll be getting all my navigation supplies from them in the future.”

“The mission: "To put unwanted books into the hands of those who want them." I adore The Book Thing. I have been a loyal monthly patron and will continue to do so. The books are absolutely free, no strings attached, FREE! And to top it off, you can take as much as you can carry out. I love exploring different genres and with my vast interests, purchasing books can be expensive not to mention terrible for the environment. I will always search the shelves at The Book Thing or go to a secondhand bookstore before purchasing newly printed books (if you can't get to The Book Thing take a look at ThriftBooks.com). The Book Thing is NOT OPEN DAILY. It is a monthly event that typically falls on the second full weekend of the month, and it alternates between Saturday and Sunday. They announce the exact dates on their website and Facebook page. If you are interested in donating books, please take the time to check their website for the exact days that you can drop off. Book donation hours are 9am-2pm on the designated days. The donation limit is 6 boxes per family. Boxes must be small enough that one person can lift them when full. They accept all types of books except encyclopedia sets. All donations are tax-deductible. We can provide a donation receipt on request reflecting the number of books donated. We also issue receipts for financial donations. Please do not leave books or boxes outside of their donation hours, you may be cited by the City for illegal dumping!”

“I've been coming here for over a decade and this is by far the best new age store in town! They have such an an amazing selection! From books, to crystals, to incense/ oils, and much MUCH more. “Royal books has rare and unusual books that you will not see anywhere else. The only disappointment is that the selection from their inventory (online) is not greater.”

“What's not to love about a comic book store that has a bar in the back. It's a divy hipster bar in Hampden. The crowd is a little order and it's cheap drinks and beers with usually a live show. The staff is friendly. I've heard John Waters (creator of Hair Spray) does signings here on occasion! It's a fun spot. They do have regular fiction books as well!”

“The Barnes & Noble is a college bookstore below the cafeteria at CCBC. They have most books from classes, a Starbucks, and this nice avocado I bought for my girlfriend. I think she liked it. I also wanted to try their spinach and feta stuffed pretzel, but it was too many calories. They have more than books, its like a mini Barnes & Noble. 8/10”

“Barnes & Noble has returned to its niche as a bookstore for colleges and university. Johns Hopkins store is quite glitzy. The University of Baltimore is not as glitzy, but nice nonetheless. Loyola is in between. The store personnel on a quiet summer day were pleasant and helpful.”

“I really enjoy going to this bookstore. There is a great variety of books, older and more recent copies. They are a bit expensive, but it is well worth the visit!”

“I am so glad my girlfriend and I went to this location! Such a great place, which such a great staff. I could spend literal hours in here, and we did just that! The Baltimore section alone was enough; being so informative of sometimes even the same places where we're standing. When and if I'm back in Baltimore looking for a good burial position in a book, Red Emma will see me again.”

“What a great little hidden jewel in the building that has the gym. There is a cafe right next to it, and a health sciences library right there too. My wife wanted to stop by and take a picture for YELP, and what the heck, while we were there, we got some U of MD stuff. Camelback sippy cups, a couple of under armour T shirts, sweat pants that say U of M.....for the house in the winter, not for social functions. Got my beautiful wife a U of M V neck shirt that will look great on her. The lady there was very nice , her name was Michelle, and she was dealing with an unhappy customer, and did it being polite, and firm. Well done. This store has everything. Coffee cups, lanyards, hoodies, polo shirts, ball caps.....all University of Maryland baby!!! Can't wait to go there again. Will be a minute, we spent a few bucks.....but it supports the school. A++++”

“I got a matcha latte that was great, but my breakfast sandwich was just okay. I wanted a little more flavor on it since it was pretty pricey for an egg sandwich. Also, not too much seating inside so it was packed... not the worst thing since there was also a long shareable table”

“As an Alum, I love love love this shop!! Although I do a lot of shopping online for books at this point, I will definitely stop here for all things Hopkins related in terms of clothing. I wear my gear proudly and they have such a vast selection, in my opinion, for women, men, unisex, kids and even babies! They have also added Hopkins Mom/Dad apparel as well, which is awesome. The staff are always pleasant and there is a Starbucks cafe on site. One note, however: you can only return Barnes and Noble merchandise to this location, that is purchased at this location due to it being an academic store because they don’t have the same point of sale system. I just learned that today. Oh, and they do have books?Happy shopping!”
