“I've been going here for over 10 years now, the business has recently been taken over by new owners. The new owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Although it still has that old school liquor store vibe to it, the new owners and staff have really put a lot of work into cleaning up and neatly organizing the whole place,I as a long time customer commend them for all of their hard work and wish them nothing but the best with their business”
“I ordered online on the night of Dec 25; they shipped morning Dec 26. Packaging was excellent! Got it Dec 30, right thru the holidays. Faster than Amazon AND found something that Amazon was selling way more expensive (juice from Europe). I am happy to have found this little known store. Will buy again.”
“Looking for tofutti ice cream. They just had tofutti cream cheese. Then at the demo station they had watermelon mozzarella ugh. They did have police looking weirded out”
“I honestly just go for the Trader Joe's Takis, they're good af.
This location doesn't have my favorite drink though I believe, the lemon elderflower one?
I'll double check though next im there.”
“We chanced upon this store while visiting someone in the area. It was Sunday just before lunch but this store was hopping busy. We were lucky to find a parking spot because there were a number of cars coming into the lot. It is a small store compared to the ones in Houston but it is every bit as good. They had a large variety of items. We were looking for flowers and a small cake. They had a good selection of fresh flowers. We were looking for a small cake for someone’s birthday. They didn’t have any so we bought a Banana Walnut bread which was yummy according to the recipient. This was a quick stop for us but it gave us a good glimpse of the store. We interacted with a couple of employees who were very helpful and cordial.”
“The two TJs on Wisconsin are a hit rundown with many missing items and the shelves not in order. I fave 4 stars for the chain reputation more than the actual valuation of the 2 stores I visited”

“The staff are this location is REALLY friendly and helpful. Typically, when the weather is nice, I go to the Sunday Bethesda Farmer's Market first and then walk 5 minutes to The Organic Butcher. Weekends, of course, are busier, but the wait is never long, and it's nice to look at all the specialty products.
If you're into hot sauce, they make in-house a really nice fermented hot sauce - follow them on social media so you know when the next batch drops.”
“First time there, Raymond from the wine section was tremendously helpful, i had a ton of stuff to bring to the car and he went out of his way to help me out. Much appreciated.”
“They kicked my friend and I out for taking to long but he was tryna buy groceries and I was not about to spend all of my money in an expensive market. Other than the "Hold Up" the store was pretty nice. A variety selection of snacks and they take EBT”
“Amazingly friendly and helpful staff always going above and beyond for customers! I’ve come to this location for quite a while and have never been disappointed with their selection, produce quality, and staff.”
“The arrival of Trader Joe's to the Freidnship Heights is a significant , long waited, improvement to the quality of life in the neighborhood. Expected to provide some downwards pressure on pricing policies of the local Whole foods market and expand variability in available supply, including from imports. Taking into account recent opening of Lydl nearby, the local grocery situation becomes even more enjoyable.”

“I love wandering around in Rice Market - it feels like entering another world, with an incredibly comprehensive and fun selection of beautifully arranged food and home products. I work nearby and come for the hot prepared grab-and-go food, which tastes more like grandma's cooking than a restaurant. In cold weather, the outside terrace is empty, so you can enjoy delicious hot food in the refreshing cold and people watch for 10-15 minutes.”
“I absolutely *love* this market in Bethesda! It’s a true hidden gem, offering an incredibly authentic Mediterranean shopping experience with *everything* you could possibly need. From fresh groceries to specialty imported goods, this place has it all—and at prices that are **more than reasonable**!
One of the best things about this market is its **unique selection**. I was thrilled to find **specialty chocolates and desserts** that I had been searching for everywhere else with no luck. The fact that they carry such rare and delicious treats makes this place a must-visit for anyone who appreciates Mediterranean flavors.
Another huge plus? **Convenient street parking** makes it easy to stop by, whether you're grabbing groceries or picking up some amazing prepared foods to enjoy at home.
Honestly, shopping here feels like stepping into a bustling European market—warm, welcoming, and full of incredible finds. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out! **Highly, HIGHLY recommend!** ?”
“Fort Myer has the best Comissary I have been to so far in my career. It's overall very well stocked and maintained, especially the produce section which is much better than others in the area.”
“I only come here once in a while since they’re overpriced. People here are really helpful and friendly though really slow. They have stuff like vegan milk, vegan cheese, vegan ice cream, and vegan burgers. They have some interesting stuff like vegan fish or shrimp although I never tried them since they are quite expensive.”
“If you don’t know about this dynamic duo that is back for the fall/winter season at Trader Joe’s, you ARE missing OUT!! If you like a luxurious cheese spread hide these cause you will not want to share. Don’t say I never shared with you?”
“What a lovely neighborhood store! Got a great and simple sandwich on my way across town and enjoyed the friendly staff and the local artists' works on display.”
“Trader Joe's is my happy place with its quirky snacks and friendly staff who always know how to find that one weird cheese I'm obsessed with—plus, the free samples totally make my day!”
“Flowers! Flowers! Flowers! And I love the produce, goat milk, large chocolate bars, and tons of other stuff. I first shopped at Trader Joe's in 1979 in Santa Monica, CA.”
“Use to go here almost 20 years ago. You know what to expect here. Was craving a salad so I stopped by. Food is excellent, phenomenal prices but the ladies at the salad/sandwich station were dry...”
“Awesome neighborhood corner store. I grew up in the area and have been impressed with how the store has grown over the years. It really has become a part of the community.”
“Very good small supermarket, with fresh produce and lots of Latin American products. The papaya there was the best I’ve ever had in DC. Let’s support these small stores that make DC streets more interesting!”
“My wife of 15 years being from Thailand needs products from her region sometimes not necessarily from Thailand. We have been customers for years after Thai Market closed in downtown Silver Spring. Always friendly and generally have the spices and condiments she likes to maintain.”
“The customer service here rocks!! Everyone is so attentive, helpful and knowledgeable - it's like they live and breathe Mom's mission, which doesn't happen often in a grocery store chain. Their product is always stocked, and organized. I never leave without anything I needed. 5 stars for Mom's on NY Ave!”

“My first visit to this location it was pretty busy on a Saturday and afternoon parking was tight. The hot foods dining area was pretty small. They seem to offer like eight different types of soup. They had some premade dishes and dishes available. I picked up a couple onigiri, marinated eggs, seaweed salad, and some pickled ginger.
Tons of options of miso and kimchi, noodles, dumplings, ramen, galore. I picked up a few kinds of kelp, some wakeme and some kombu.
All of the fresh fruits and vegetables were really impressive. They had tons of different types of mushrooms and it was pretty cool to see some variety packs available.
Lots of fresh durian, even small already cut and prepped.
The meat and seafood areas were impressive as well.”
“They have good products with fair prices! Specially the dairy products and most of their products are organic and not expensive. If you want to buy meat, this is not the place to go.”
“Smaller than many other TJ's so the inventory choices are less. However, the prices are so much lower than ALL the other grocery stores. Love their GF bagels and breads.”
“Only place in the area I've been able to find tamarind sauce (specifically sauce, not chutney)! Wish I'd checked here before ordering some from the UK. Helpful and polite staff. Small store but good selection, especially of spices and dried fruits. I wasn't buying meat so I can't comment on that.”
“It’s a smaller store but you can get almost everything you want! It’s funny, they have a huge selection of wine and beer proportional to the size of the store. Pizza is great, dessert awesome, not a fan of the extremely expensive price per pound on hot food bar.”
“Not gonna lie, I prefer how it used to be over how it is not, maybe over nostalgia but the Brentwood market seemed authentic when Ms. Nancy still owned it but now, it looks like every other store in the area. Love the cute cats that come out to chill in the parking lot after closing, and the new windows really give a new look to the place. I love the change, but the old Brentwood market holds a dear place in my heart.”
