“We all make detrimental decisions in life, and when it's comes to pay the piper, we don't know what to expect. In my experience, I was pleasantly surprised by Mrs Chadler Pennington's patience, understanding and willing attitude to help me get to the next steps in correcting my situation. This world needs more people like Mrs Pennington.”

“This was my first time here. I met some nice people, and the food was amazing. Everyone seems very friendly. Maybe one day I'll be able to feel less shy and actually get to know people.”

“Love this place so much. They are very good at firing things in the right spot depending on the glaze. Amazing instructors and community events. Just a top notch place to do ceramics. So so impressed. This is rare cause I have been to other studios in other states and they are not nearly as good or thriving as much as Baltimore clayworks ?”

“Our family attended today’s magic maple event, where we learned about maple syrup making process, starting from tree identification, hands-on activities to interactive demonstration. Kids enjoyed the whole experience, and we spent another 40-50mins for the indoor exhibits, which we love as well. We look forward to coming back soon. Thank you for organizing such wonderful seasonal events!”

“Little pricy but if you need paint brushes or rollers way excellent deals. Also found some seriously old light bulbs for a lamp my wife has, which I couldn't even buy online or Lowes or home Depot. That was awesome, stupid lamp hasn't worked since last summer. She was really excited to see it lit up again this evening”

“Absolutely amazing resource in so many ways! Right now my family is doing language lessons, but I know they also offer Russian immersion arts and crafts sessions and other events. Plus they have an expansive selection of Russian language books for sale. They're a great community resource. We're so happy to have found East-West Cultural Center!”

“I came here from AZ Nov 2022. I trusted I would be able to rediscover and refurbish my wardrobe when I got here. Not only has that happened, but I took pickleball lessons shortly after my arrival; my daughter and I were able to completely outfit me for my games from head to toe - many types of outfits including sweats, dri fits, jackets, skorts - on a budget; you name it and I'm ready to play. I also had to get almost EVERYthing for a cruise to the DR shortly after I got here...Goodwill had my back. I didn't get any formal wear. I should and could have and have rectified that since. At Goodwill. I can easily find quality items - good stuff - and I get so giddy when I discover it there. Now, I rarely go anywhere else, unless I really need something new. It's a must do at least once a week. Funny note: 2 weeks ago I realized there wasn't anything else I needed to shop for (clothing-wise). I literally have everything. I remember running through my categories in my head. Goodwill has checked them all. When I wanted to rebuild my music collection, I spent hours going through albums for clasical music. Then I decided I needed a little cd player and the cds are great. I better not bring home anymore books. I have a shelf of unreads I brought with me in my "spare move" and I don't read them. I think I will replace as I read; when I do, I'll be at the Goodwill checking through their massive selections.I've been to a lot of them between MD and PA and I must say (and I tell errbody), that I love the Joppa Rd store.. York Rd is a keeper as well. When I venture further, I've been traveling with my daughters and we set out to discover the treats and to thrift with purpose. We've gotten some of everything. I think the most amusing discovery was the original whirly popcorn thingy. We eat a lot of it and needed a second one. Off we go, shopping with a purpose and what do you know? There was one NIB on the shelf at eye level. Yeah.. I love it! Btw, I have the account associated with the Chesapeake stores that rebates when you purchase. The thrill of the hunt gets even better when $ is taken off at the register if you want. Everybody is a winner. All in all it makes me feel very good about my spending when I shop Goodwill.”

“This building is pretty easy to spot from the road. There are designated parking spaces in front of the building that are expressly for donors. As I entered the building, I was immediately greeted by the security guard. After checking my identification, he directed me to the donation room. As I entered the donation area, I was once again, immediately greeted. Each person with which I interacted was VERY professional and courteous. I was seen almost immediately (in advance of my appointment time). The technician that took care of me (Ms. S) was one of the fastest and most polite people I have ever had the fortune with which to work (not that I did much). Her donation stick was painless and fast. She explained each step of the process and what to do and expect post donation. The 'recovery' canteen was bountiful. I took in my share of cookies and juices. Upon my departure, I was thanked again and given a t-shirt.”

“I haven't been there in my years. I was thinking about trying to reach out for help somewhere safe . I don't know if they will just take females without children. The only complaint I have back then it may be different now was the location which I will not reveal . Was kind of creepy buildings before you got there were abandoning and falling down which was a concern as for being stalked . or ambushed . As far as in my case I was in a different one and my husband Stalked me till He find out where it was . My daughter and I had to leave because it puts the other women in danger . That's no longer there. Can anybody say how it is in 2024 . The rooms are clean me and my daughter each had a separate bed you had your own bathroom Cafeteria unfortunately there are not a lot of domestic abuse shelters. I know the the ones I tried to stay in there were women with children or families all the way from New York . I wish I had a lot of money that is something I've always wanted to open is Domestic Abuse Shelters. I'm going to do some research right now. Here I am again Alot older with Less resources financially . Also my daughter kept me going back then I had a complete nervous sleep breakdown. This is a horrible way to live either to stay with your abuser because family or friends refuse to help or they're afraid again that was when I was married.Wish me luck ??”

“I had the pleasure of speaking with Mary Stembler who was the woman in charge. She got me set up with everything I needed to do to be adopted for Christmas since we lost my husband and my daughters father! She gave me so much information on things they do and what they could help with! She is an amazing woman and we are blessed to have her in our corner helping us thru a most difficult time! There are no words I could say that shows just what she meant to us and what she has done for us! Thank you Mary, The Arc, and the company who adopted us for this unbelievable blessing! We are forever grateful ? ?❤?”
